"THEY SAID THIS GAME COULD NOT BE DONE, BUT WE HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT REASON IS BEING KICKED TO THE CURB. ENTER NOW INTO THE TIME OF HELL. MAY YOU FIND THAT PLACE UNDER THE SHINING STARS."
BGM: JAM Project - SKILL

The SD style is actually super important as it puts everything on the same scale. Otherwise you have 200m tall Gunbuster basically stepping on enemies of another series that are a fraction of it's size.
The Masou Kishin series, which is a bit of a spin-off, features mechs that are properly scaled since they are all original.
The style in general has been shifting more and more away from SD in recent years anyway. They just stop caring about scale and make Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann have a somewhat bigger sprite than the Hi-Nu Gundam despite the canonical size difference because fuck it, people aren't here for accuracy they're here for cool robots
I think the reason the Super Deformed style is used is because all the robots have very drastic sized. Gurren Lagann is around 15 meters, the average Gundam is 18 meters, The Big O is 30 meters, meanwhile others like Zambot 3 are around 130 meters and Gunbuster is somewhere over 200 meters. Hell, they managed to make Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann the size of Gurren Lagann and made it work, I can give them major props for that.
This is the explanation I've always heard. There is, to use an extreme example, nothing stopping you from attacking the Anti-Spiral at the end of the game with the Scope Dog, which I think is only around eight meters tall. Having everything in SD makes it easier to ignore the ridiculous differences in scale.
Ahaha, more like 3 meters. Which is freaking hilarious.
Yup. That's pretty much it. Even in this video we see the 200M Gunbuster drop kicking a, what now, 20M Mobile Suit? The SD is because otherwise the sizes clash. Though I suppose you could just do non-SD and ignore the sizes... thing is they tried that in Shin SRW back on Playstation and it looked really weird. Maybe with the modern animations but it's a risky proposition.
Also there was a point where they actually couldn't afford the non-SD likeness rights for Gundam stuff. They almost always had non-SD cutins of the old Super Robots but it wasn't until something goofy like the 15th iteration of the franchise that we got a single non-SD Gundam representation in cutscene form. I think it was only after Namco Bandai literally bought out a majority share in Banpresto in fact.
If I recall, and woolie didn't touch on this, every unit in the game has a size rating, with little normal units like the Scopedog being size SS, to Gundams that are size M, to things like Gunbuster that are XL. But then you get to Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, as well as that entire final stage in Anti-Spiral space...and every mech's size rating becomes "Infinity," just for that stage.
Dan Mastriani To be fair storyline wise all the mechs get beefed up to To Tengan Toppa size for the battle with the Anti Spiral
Day 3. In spite of all my effort, that intro is still so hype, that my shit remains lost. I'm beginning to think that it will remains lost for some time now.
The JAM Project certainly isn't helping it not be Epic as shit.
Same here man holy fuck is that intro boner inducing and not just cuz of how sexy alternate Liam Is in a mech suit
My shit has been lost since that start of last week.
Darkmoon Damn you Cage. Always stealing my shit, and making shit out of it!
I think I lost mine on Toppa Tengen Gurren's 20 Billion Lightyear sized drill
Super Robot Wars: the literal quintessential mecha crossover game. These games have some Crisis on Infinite Earth's style bullshit with mecha going on in almost every game. I fucking love it.
"Evangelion is the antihomage and Gurren Lagann is the ultimate homage"- Pat
Woolie: "This guy is called ! LOOK HOW COOL THAT IS! BOOM! Isn't that fucking hype?"
Pat and Liam: "Yeah, it's alright."
Woolie: "Okay, well, look how sick THIS guy is!"
Pat and Liam: "Yeah, I wish it wasn't SD."
Woolie: "I mean, yeah...oh, well look who it is! Tell me that's not fucking rad!"
Pat and Liam: "Oh man, it just showed the grid map. That looks awful. And the more I watch this the more I hate the SD models."
Woolie: "Oh shit, it's Gurren! GIGA DRILL BREEAAKEERR!"
Pat: "You sound like an asshole."
Liam: "Yeah, they made their bargain version of it."
It's okay, Woolie. I certainly went nuts along with you watching this!
It was almost sad to see how excited woolie was while Liam and Pat seemed almost like they wanted to hate every second of it
Woolie is proud of this cut he made. Liam and Pat just shit on it.
JM3D Yeah this video might have made Woolie my favorite out of them, and rocket Pat and Liam to shit tier. Well I mean they were already shit tier but still.
On one hand, I was with him on the MASSIVE FUCKING HYPE TRAIN!
On the other, his "No it's not all about Gurren Lagann" shit gold old fast.
+JM3D woolie getting hyped is the best thing ever
"They look like Clamp shit..."
- Woolie talking about Code Geass
Well yeah, Woolie. They did the character designs.
Liam and Pat are cray. I'm lovin' the animation and art direction in this game.
IT'S SUPER SPIRAL SPACE, I AIN'T GOTTA EXPLAIN SHIT.
but for real, they're not in "actual" space. they're in a pocket dimension where time and space don't matter.
Right, it's the Anti Spirals dimension.
As much I love Gurren Lagann, it had the most frustrating case of foreshadowing I've ever seen.
The series opens on Gurren, with a head the size of the death star, about the literally fight the universe.
Let me repeat that, "LITERALLY FIGHT THE UNIVERSE."
Yea, its perhaps the single most extreme thing I've ever seen, so you can imagine my disappointment when the series was over, and a grand total of 0 universes had been punched. Apparently the writers actually just forgot they had included it. Some people will tell you it takes place in an alternate timeline where spiral energy has run rampant or something, but I still haven't seen a mech punch the universe, so what does it matter?
Lolicage Wait, if space doesn't matter, how do things still have defined shapes?
Why do I imagine that said like its from Rick and Morty
Evil Ryu It wasn't that space didn't matter. It was that willpower and thought could physically manifest itself within that dimension. Hence Lordgenome getting his body back before BEING VAPOURISED ON A QUANTUM LEVEL.
Is this the one where Simon and Noriko teach the Eva kids the value of HARD WORK and GUTS?
TheBrahma51 Yup
Shinji would want to get in the damn mech then...or we hope he would.
I think the chest laser keeps coming back because its symbolic of blasting the enemy with your heart, your core, the center of your being.
I'm so happy to learn that Woolie loves The Big O. It means I'm not alone in this universe.
I think a game like this that's basically a montage of all these beloved series is awesome. Really makes me appreciate all the work that went into it and the history of the genre whether I know the shows or not.
Wow. I would never have expected this.
I am pleasantly surprised and impressed.
Absolutely brilliant, like this is the best these past weeks for mecha
D180223 I'm hoping for OGs next :P
If the mailbag was still around I'd imagine fans sending Pat a bunch of Asuka Ero-doujins after this.
***** It's fine, you know he owns multiple copies of all of them already.
No, send him Rei ero-doujins. I want him to experience the confusion of feeling both intense anger and arousal.
They still accept small envelopes and stuff like that I think...so just send one at a time...don't do this...
People did I'm sure, they were probably just packaged in with bags of Ladybugs
Why would you buy doujins?
Dayakka:
"I GOT THE BEST WIFE IN THE UNIVERSE SWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!"
Kiyoh:
"idiot :)"
That was beautiful
Your next line is "HOLY SHIT! THEY'RE PLAYING SRW!?!?!?"
damn you beat me to it
HOLY SHIT! THEY'RE PLAYING SRW!?!?!?
!!!!
D180223 IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID
wow, I can't believe I sat through an hour of Pat, Woolie and Liam nerdgasming...
but it was worth it
Only thing missing is Getter Robo summoning the motherfucking Getter Emperor.
The Getters have eyes because they are living machines. The Getter energy is the energy of evolution and life. The reason why it kills off the enemies in the series (mainly ancient beings) is because they cannot be evolved any further and they simply destroyed via forced evolution.
FYI, Shin Getter and MazinKaiser (Mazinger King) are original designs of SWR games, as user's boss mechs. They only later on had their own animes.
Shin Getter is not an SRW original. The original author made Shin. Only Mazinkaiser is.
Raoh Hokuto
You do realize that the author first made that for the SNES SRW?
+Boris Chan No. Ishikawa made Shin in his return debut which is Getter Robo Go.
Raoh Hokuto
Ar yes you are correct. I completely forgot about Go as a series at all >.>
"...go get a 7-year old child murderer." So who does Pat want? Guts or Sawamura?
I think the award goes to Agito from Air Gear who constricts people to death and bathes in their blood rain for funsies.
+Grantite Now i imagine Guts piloting a mech and i want to throw money at it
7 ear child murderer you mean Char in the Origin
I thank you Best Friends Zaibatsu. This franchise desperately needs more attention in the states. This may just be the first step of many to getting these games localized.
BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
IT'S
SHOOOOOOOWTIIIIIIIIME!!!!
KinglyRed Well, someone had to do it.
Go! Mega Douche!
...
*Deuce
KinglyRed seeing Big O at the ending just floating in space looks hilarious to me.
Big Duo, it is now SHOWTIME!
I wasn't expecting the Big O!
I would watch these solely for the intro, but I'm glad you guys did a mechaweek 2.
These are pretty awesome.
Man, I have tried to watch this at least 5 times since its release, but the anti-hype anti-sd crap coming from Pat and Liam just kill my enjoyment every time. It's a shame too; the video is super awesome, and really shows how passionate Woolie is about mech stuff. Shame it has to be hampered by the others.
It's back!!!!!
GURREN AND GUNBUSTER. HYPE. SHIN GETTER ROBO.
THE GAME OF THE INTRO
SO HYPE
HYPE POWER UNCONTAINABLE!!
Everything needs more JAM Project.
Thanks for the hard work, Woolie! Made for a great video
As a fan of SRW, that opening was probably the best thing I've seen all week.
You know what we're missing from our good ol Super Robot Wars nowadays?
GaoGaiGar.
Thanks woolie for this video. I could really tell that he genuinely liked super robots.
Regarding the concept of everything eventually turning into space ships, that's not necessarily always true. According to Gundam's back story, mobile suit type vehicles came about as a result of the colony construction project that started in UC 0001. The reason why humanoid vehicles have an advantage over ships is because they are able to employ the conservation of angular momentum law. Humanoid vehicles, and by extension mobiles suits have limbs which allow them to rotate themselves in any orientation (yaw, pitch or roll) when in space, and only in space. Theoretically they do not require the use of apogee motors, like most ships or jets are always depicted doing, to rotate themselves into their desired position or orientation in space. This is why humanoid type vehicles were chosen as the main work horse of the colony construction force. Their multiple limbs allowed them to not only perform the complicated tasks required for construction (welding, bolting, force pressing, laser cutting, etc.) but also properly orient themselves to do the jobs. This key concept is what led to the development of mobile suits for military purposes and it is for that reason that humanoid vehicles reign supreme when pit against giant warships or fighters in space. Fighters would run out of fuel much earlier than say a mobile suit who would only need to move its limbs to orient itself to take aim. While I still believe that humanoid vehicles would utilize apogee thrusters for extreme precision, their use of them would be to a far lesser degree compared to space jets. It would've been nice if Gundam depicted this more often in the multiple series. Realism is what made Gundam popular to begin with and it would super sick to see an extreme return to that, but that's just my opinion. Also screw Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny all the way to hell, fuck teenage angst, its ruining shows left and right. Sieg Zeon Forever!
Thank you Woolie. Deep into the original Getter Robo mangas because of this video. Its good stuff. Ken Ishikawa is a fucking master.
Continue if you know the words:
THIS DRILL IS SIMONS'S SOUL!
DAI-GURREN'S SOUL!
HUMANITY'S SOUL!
Mangus Ruiz Flores I'm not even mad.
Alejandro Rodriguez "If there's a hole, it's a man's job to thrust into it!"
I really wish this series would come overseas ;-;
All of them.
It's good to know I don't feel like the only person who knows this series exists, thanks Woolie!
The fact that they didn't show scopedog's best attack, the one where scopedog rams the enemy into a cliff and then the pilot gets out, pulls out a pistol, looks like the worlds biggest pimp and fires is a goddamn war crime imo
i had no idea you guys were super robot wars fans, i love you guys so much more now
Woolie doesn't like Gundam Seed = Woolie's great taste in Gundam confirmed.
God damn it you guys, you nearly killed me with the hype. I need to go watch all these animes again.
During the intro the video was at 480p, then, it just went to 720p by itself...
The hype is real
thx about damn time the world knows the existence of such a god-tier franchise
"Pat:I don't like chest lasers"
Pat demonstrating his shit taste in this video
When you back down so far you wrap all the way around to standing up, it's Mechaweek 2! Now with 5% more Super Robot Wars.
Pat is the worst fan of anything he likes
Hahah Im so happy you guys did this I totally love you guys
Pat watch Big O, it is Batman meets evangalion in the matrix
Brian Reilly So it starts off really good with a bit of depth before getting up it's own ass too much in the last third and ends up being the worst? Does it go the Revolutions/End of TV/Rises route or the End of Eva route in terms of quality?
Thanatos388
The Big O isn't nowhere near as conceited as NGE is. The ending just comes out of nowhere.
But considering this was a anime whose second season was pretty much funded by Toonami, it's fine.
NewTypo NGE should have patted itself on the back harder.
But ok I see what you mean.
You'll never convince him that way. Pat only watches shows out of spite.
Thanatos388 wow, thats a perfect summary of the new bat movies, NGE, and the Matrix all in one sentence. Sir, I am impress
>All that scopedog love
feels good man
The HYPEST intro on TH-cam
Pat showing approval of Big O's chest laser makes me feel all warm inside~
tell those 2 whiners to get lost...
"oh why isn't it proportional waahhh"
SD is how it's always been and how it'll forever stay.
+drunkbygreentea the one downside to this vid, really. The mechs look like they're supposed to, just squished a bit. it looks fine why are they complaining so much?
+drunkbygreentea Well one of them had only played Masokishin 3: Pride and Justice, which isn't SD. I was confused why he hadn't played Masokishin: Lord of Elemental and Masokishin 2: Revelation of Evil God first.
OH GOD... This game is freaking awesome!
ANOTHER CENTURY'S EPISODE! For the love of all Mecha/Robot Holy... this Mechaweek can't miss that crossover game!
Cant believe I watched this whole thing
There is a reason that the last fight could work...
TEAM SUPER GALAXY DAI-GURRAN DON'T CARE.
They will win and return home even if they have to break the laws of time and space
YOOO THE BIG O IS AWESOME
This is perfect timing, since this is the 4th entry in the series, and it's all coming to an end next month with the final game.
Even in budget animation Gurren Lagann can reach the hypest of hype. Too bad no God/Burning Gundam but at least Setsuna got to eliminate the targets a little.
FYI, The Scopedog's pilot Chirico, is known as an Abnormal Survivor. Meaning he's either immortal(recovering from just about anything), and/or very very very lucky. This actually translates into gameplay. If his machine is at like 25% or lower health, he gets INSANE SKY HIGH stats.
scientist 1:"Here is the ultimate fighting mecha, but it needs a pilot"
scientist 2:"what options we have to choose from?"
scientist 1:"we got a bunch of murderous assholes to choose from"
scientist 2:".... nothing else?"
scientist 1:"well, we have shinji ikari...."
scientist 1&2:"definitely murderous assholes"
ALL of them? In one Mecha?
MasterAsra Man, Ryouma would probably mutilate Shinji.
Yessss, more groundswell for Getter, Big O and Gunbuster. This pleases me.
My one regret is that they didn't get to show Chirico's best attack, the one where he rams the enemies into a wall, opens the Scopedog's cockpit, and shoots the enemies with a fuckin' pistol. Absolutely amazing.
Don't believe in the Woolie that believes in you...
Actually, don't believe in Woolie period.
26:15 Pat:Are the Colonies self sufficient without food from earth?
Woolie: No, then need earth.
Its the other way around the Colony has agricultural plants around a large ring that they can grow plants and livestock in and the surplus food is semi-forcibly exported to the Earth Federation.
time for us to bug pat on twitter to watch big O
The fact that ep opened with SKILL means that Woolie has grown too powerful for the rest of the Zaibatsu to handle. His power will only grow until he is our new mecha overlord.
That being said, seeing a SRW Z3 vid is hype as hell
That FUCKING INTRO!! Hype is spewing out of my eyeholes!
Is it weird that I had tears of happiness watching the gurren sequence and remembering how hype and awesome that movie was?
Woolie you still get mad respect for your unapologetic rage towards Gundam Seed. I'm with you brotha!
Just a little FYI in regards to the SD ("Super-deformed") aesthetic for the mecha in most mainstream, or "traditional" Super Robot Wars games: they have experimented with games featuring full-sized proportions of the mecha, most notably, Shin Super Robot Wars for the Playstation 1. The game sold well, but the majority of fans pretty much expressed dismay over the proportions, and demanded they revert back to SD style.
Even though most SRW games these days still use SD, Banpresto & Bandai-Namco still continue to use proper proportions in other SRW-related games that are not necessarily strategy-based. The SRW Scramble series of RTS-style gameplay uses proper proportions, for an example.
Aside from tradition and fan-preference, the SD style also helps keep the various mechs in a sort of nice standardized proportion with each other - if the mechs were strictly drawn to direct and correct proportions, the sizes would be wildly different. For example, Gunbuster would easily tower over (he could literally step on) most Gundams.
Rest assured though, if it's one thing about the SRW series, it caters to the fans first and foremost - the director/producer Takanobu Terada is a huge fan of mecha anime, and demands the same kind of diehard fervor from the game staff. His policy is you literally MUST be a fan of the series you're working on if you're on the SRW staff. That's why huge amounts of mecha fanservice abound in just about every SRW in the past decade. And that's why the games sell so much and makes back its ridiculous budget despite catering to a decidedly niche market of fans.
They didn't even play the game...
100/10
Immediately. Liked IMMEDIATELY for freaking SKILL playing in the intro.
Scopedog is the real hero of mankind. Yeah, it's easy to be The Hero, when you have a super expensive top-tier robot and some superpowers to top it off. But when you're a regular guy, another number in the army in the most regular serial mech possible. And you come and stand in the face of monstrous space shit only with your standart issue gun, topped of with your BALLS OF ADAMANTIUS!
demilung The real power of the Scopedog is that it's pilot is almost literally anime John Rambo, and his super power is that he's just super good at not dying in skirmishes.
SherlockHyde
So unlike "Magic-hero kids" and "Teenage-BS-Geniouses" he's an actually competent soldier.
demilung You haven't lived until you see the video where Scopedog rams Granzeboma into a cliff (In the middle of the galaxy), and the pilot opens the cockpit (Still in space) and shoots Granzeboma right in the dick and kills it.
Legit, watching the opening, I lost track of what they were saying cause I was getting TOO HYPED at what was happening on screen.
i feel like such a nerd but i dont care i feel happy i joined in with woolie for giga drill BREAKER!!!!
Pat, what you have to think about for chest-lasers and the such is that's where the "core"- or whatever main energy source- usual is. The (goods) chest lasers aren't just another attack, its the overdrive "release the limiters" final attack because I just used all my power and broke my mech.
I'm going to admit... i totally missed the reason for the star sunglasses thing... now i feel bad.
So that Gunbuster moment in the CG intro didn't mean a lot to me until this viewing. This time around? AAAAWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAHH you go Noriko!
Seriously, if you haven't seen Gunbuster, go look it up on TH-cam (somebody's uploading the whole thing with hardcoded subs, there's no dub) RIGHT NOW and watch it. It manages to fit the emotional investment and hype moments of stuff like Gurren Lagann into UNDER THREE HOURS. And it has one of the greatest final moments of any show, ever.
If it means more mechas can exist in this world, I'll volunteer to be the first mecha pilot and become the villain. Go straight up Lelouch in this piece if I have to!
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Ending this video with Groose's theme playing over Gundam Seed's Kira Yamato footage is god like. Thank you Woolie soooooo much
It would be great if it was SEED's version of Kira but the Super Robot Wars version of him is actually a pretty cool guy and doesn't deserve the same treatment as his SEED counterpart.
TeamTowers1 Interesting, I'll have to check out this role in the game. I never got a chance to play these even though I really enjoy checking out the sprites from time to time.
Rodrigo Leon - Alvarez
The adaptation of SEED Destiny's plot happened way back in Z1. Kira and Shinn are both rewritten to be much more reasonable than there anime counterparts.
In just about every other game there supporting characters in other Gundam shows.
For sure, I never personally liked Seed and to think I watched when I was a freshman in high school. At least they have a better role to play in these games.
AWW FUCK
MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAME SERIES
MY FAVORITE BEST FRIENDS
I CAN DIE HAPPY
...not yet!
NOT BEFORE *TENGOKU-HEN*
So, just watched this video for the first time. I've been waiting for the release of Tengoku-Hen and it's hilarious, cuz I just googled it and found out that it finally came out in Japan, 3 days ago! Hope to see footage on youtube soon~
I can't be the only one who wish the cast of Megas XLR was in these games. It would be FUCKING EPIC!
Holy shit I didn't know Full Metal Panic! was in these games. God I loved that series. Definitely deserves more appreciation imo.
Pat I know you're never going to read this comment unless it somehow makes the top in thumbs up and only Plague is crazy enough to read all the comments in his vids, but I wanted to say this anyway.
The reason the mechs use the super deformed look is because of scale. A Scopedog is about 12 ft tall. The Gunbuster is over 600 ft tall. If you put everything in its actual proportions, it wouldn't make sense. Because the game would leave you with only 2 real options then
1. Make everything their size and have the Scopedog be just a tiny speck on the screen in comparison.
2. Make everything look the same size, which makes no sense because some machines are literally infinitely larger than others (with the exception of the GL finale stage for plot reasons).
The SD look is a way around the problem because you can scale down everything so that their sprites aren't way bigger. That's why the smaller robots in the game are far more accurately proportional, because they don't need to be scaled down nearly as much. The Masoukishin games in the series don't use SD, but that's because everything in the game is around the same size so it isn't necesary.
Still one of my favorite vids on the channel.
So, Evangelion takes place in 2015, right now, and Japan haven't developed EVAs yet? C'mon Japan, get on that shit!
But KURATAS though..
Depending on what you read, Zeon Zum Deikum (Char's dad) was either a space hippie (original series) or a bloodthirsty revolutionary who wanted to pick a fight with the Federation without any advantages (Gundam the Origin).
When SRW V comes out, I want Woolie to do a solo quicklook so he can mark out at all the mecha including the Battleship from Yamato. No Pat, Matt, or Liam allowed as to not sully the hype.
Has Muv Luv shown up in any of the SRW games?
Claus Grimhildr Not yet to my knowledge.
Super Robot Wars V, Mazinger Zero and Great Mazin Emperor G steal all the budget... wish they had an super dynamic special...that would be a good homage
Fucking GUNBUSTER!
Post edit: When is Japan going to get it's shit together and make a TTGL videogame?
They did...for the DS...and it sucked.
Just imagine Gurren Lagann with the budget and graphical quality of FFXV.
If that doesn't get hyped, I don't know what will
KL13N
Much like TTGL itself. Badly directed, badly animated, pale shadow of Getter Robo.
karry299 Joke's on you dude.
I saw the intro, never knew about these games, went out and bought 3 of them. God damn THIS IS THE HYPEST SHIT
Getter Robo > Gurren Lagann
Fact.
The more SD mechs I see, the better I think they look, though I can completely understand if people who are fans of the series that show up in SRW wanted a more faithful portrail of the mechs. Nice video.
Even Chibi Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is hype as fuck.
"I know this is gonna sound dumb but this is like hammer time."
Pat is really just a self conscious version of MC Hammer.
GETTER CHANGE!
So Asuka is Pats favorite? Is it because they are both gingers? Isn't her whole arc about how she is useless and has a bunch of personal issues she can't get past (as is par for the course in Eva)? Or is it her character in the Rebuilds where she has no character or screentime since she had to share it with Mari, who also had no character since they gave more character development to Rei who dies and also has no character when a copy appears in 3.33? Fuck the Rebuilds. Sorry for the pointless post guys.
Completely agree. Fuck Assuka and her arrogant prickish attitude. I mean Shinji was horrible with his constant whining that for some reason took precedence over the world ending by angels attacking earth, or Rei and her plot device self, but Asuka is the worst character in the show hands down. She did nothing but lose fights, complain about Shinji being better than her, and did not grow as a character at all since no one in the show called her out on her horrible attitude.
Pst... here's a secret... Pat doesn't like Asuka... Pat IS Asuka, or at least our dimension's incarnation of her. Now enjoy the mental image of Pat in a skintight red plugsuit. You're welcome.
I feel about Asuka the same as I feel about 99% of the Eva characters. They are all garbage people with problems that they never get passed. Despite that however I like Eva.
calamaty2007
they do get past their problems. Did you even watch the show?
calamaty2007 Did you watch the end of the show or the movie? The whole point was the characters getting over their problems and finding happiness. Hell they completely abandoned the plot just to have Shinji and Asuka get over themselves in their own abstract minds.
Dat JAM Project Hype!
Crest of Z's is probably my favourite SRW intro.
Alright everyone now lets spam Pat's Twitter feed and bug him to go watch Big O.
Code Geass and Gurren Lagaan are the two mecha anime that I love to death. Besides Evangelion, what other mecha anime should I watch?
I love all 3 of those too so, Gunbuster, Gundam 00 ( very similar to code geass), any of the Gundam ovas as long as you have context, full metal panic, Big O and rewatch Gurren. If you want a great American cartoon that parodies all that Megas XLR.
BIG O!
Big O. It's pretty cool because every epsiode ends with a sick pile bunker.
Gotta check out Gaogaigar lol The robot can't handle it's super powerful hammer, so they build an AI controlled robot that can change into a giant hand to hold the hammer for it >_< And that's just part of the awesomeness. Gravion is pretty good too... Linebarrels of Iron is worth a watch too... Oh and Votoms is pretty sweet in its own classic way (the one Scopedog is from)... lol I dunno how it keeps any upgrades in these games since he almost never has a mech last more than a few episodes in the show lol
Macross is great as well, sadly you have to cheat to get English sub Macross zero, 7 and frontier... Stupid Robotech messing things up... Still, I think most of the original is intact, apart from names, if you watch the Macross Saga part of Robotech... The voice acting is kinda crappy though >_>; However, Macross Plus is pretty neat... I could go on for ages >_>; Most of the other recommendations are great too lol
I seem to recall enjoying Eureka 7... but it's been a while so I dunno.
Now, nothing in my life will ever be as good as watching this video.
