    CJ, FYI There is a plastic pin on the bottom of the platter to hold the belt in place when you're replacing the platter, you just gently revolve the platter twice after placement until it aligns in place.

      thanks for the heads up i have been getting a lot of feed back and honestly i wasn't aware thats what those little tabs were for until people started to inform me ...

      @1luvzp 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In order to use the plastic pins to reattach the belt, I had to cut out an approximately 2cm piece of the skratch steady ring because the belt wouldn't catch with the skratch steady ring in place. Good alternative if you don't want to drill a hole in your platter.

    CJ, can you tell me the specs of the steady scratch ring? Like the thickness, width and diameter? I want to try to print one on my 3D printer. Thanks

      Mike Jordan did you happen to successfully make a steady scratch ring? I would buy one from you if you did. And if you did I would start selling them for half the price to give these guys competition.

    @CJ Scratch man I've got a question for you... Have You ever thought about trying to mod the outputs, because I honestly HATE the fact that when you plug in the headphones - it cuts out the master output... Because I use the pt01 with a bunch of other stuff (sp 404sx, kaossilator etc) - and it really pisses me off to constantly plug in /out the headphones when searching for the adequate sample to scratch/loop.. So the question is - is there any way to mod it internally VS building some external mini mixer or A/B box or whatever? Like, having both your headphones and RCA output cable plugged in, and receiving the signal? Or in the worst case scenario, just placing a simple a/b switch somewhere?

    • @scupakus
      @scupakus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      there are ways to ad extra inputs mp3 players etc.

    • @loopmantra8314
      @loopmantra8314 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @scupakus I'm not talking about inputs. I'm talking about OUTPUTS. When you plug in your headphones, the master RCA output doesn't send signal. So, instead of using bunch of Y cables (like I'm doing), or going for A/B splitter box or additional mixer - all I'm asking is : does someone know a way how to mod that output and possibly place a li'l switch on the pt01

    • @scupakus
      @scupakus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bein Šnjarovski like Rca output? I don't know. Of. You can add some.more it's. Possible if you have sockets. Just.add.next.one.to.the circuit. You can about switching off sound. When something is plugged its probably some other circuit board or maybe a switch. Not sure here but extra outputs. Can be added to existing circuit

      I bought one on ebay (this one : www.ebay.fr/itm/Numark-PT01-scratch-ring-to-reduce-the-vibration-of-the-support-disk/112443279995?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 )
      But, it slows down the platter :(

      U need to get this one !!
      www.ebay.de/itm/182630812412
      I put the platter off and on the spindle is already one washer, i took it off and used two of the washers that came with the scratch steady ring. Works for me, u have to figure out how much washers u need. Some use 1-3, some other 0. its kind of an experiement, but i got it then u got it too. At the beginning i thought too it doesnt work, u need to figure it out. For the rubber band, go in some kind of souvenirs or 1€ shop and just get a rubberband armband. Like this:
      www.ebay.de/itm/262296549076
      I am using this one. Works nice. Hope that helps. Good luck :)

    • @Tsaddeous
      @Tsaddeous 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, i will try with washers.
      For the rubber band, it changed the picth.
      Even with the pitch pot fully counterclockwise, it turn too fast.
      So i removed it for now.

    • @Tsaddeous
      @Tsaddeous 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's ok !
      I put a slim washer under the platter and it's ok.
      I put the rubber band too, and it works.
      I think my first pitch problem was due to a belt flip.
      Thank you again !

    That "e clip" is called a snap ring, bud. And if you DON'T want to risk breaking that, use a pair of snap ring pliers.

    • @CJScratch

    • @CJScratch
      @CJScratch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the hair tie band mod on the tone arm or the rubber wrist band on the platter ...the the rubber wrist band on the platter actually adds more torque to the the platter ... the hair tie mod keeps the tone arm sturdy minimizing the skipping
