@@WR3DD It's only part of the game because the refs allow it. I know it's easy for me to say while I'm sat at home behind a computer, but if I was the ref, I would be booking Son for simulation 100%, he got a fingertip to his nostril, there is no reason for him to go to ground, but he does because he wants to convince the ref that he's severely hurt. There’s a perfect opportunity to rid the game of this in conjunction with their concussion laws they are looking to bring in. If a player goes down holding the head or their face, take them off for a head injury assessment to make sure of no concussion. That should put a stop to fake head injuries straight away, and lead to a safer environment for all of the players

Danny Murphy is absolutely spot on - the referee is at fault for this controversy. VAR is to assist the referee in making a decision, not make the decision for the referee. He didnt want to make a decision and used VAR showing incidental contact in slow motion to override his initially correct decision. The reality is even without the foul that goal will most likely still have happened because the foul occurred so far away from the goal and the key pass didn't come from McTominay, it came from Fred.

The technology works very well in cricket after a few minor adjustments. I suggest that a team should only be allowed to appeal to VAR once per half. The ref could also have the power to warn a player that if he continues to protest a decision it will be referred to VAR and the team's appeal will be lost if found to be fallacious. As VAR is only intended to prevent howlers, severely limiting the number of appeals will greatly concentrate the player's minds. Other than as a response to over-pressurizing the Ref, the decision to go to VAR should be taken out of the Refs hands and given to captains, as it is in cricket. If the judgment is in the affirmative then the appeal is restored, if not it is lost.

I turned the game off after the goal was not given over Son, I just said to myself I’m not watching that nonsense, it’s destroying the game for a long time now and VAR makes it only worse because the referee could see what we did and still awarded him the foul. Joke.
