Sadly you can't. If it wasn't busted I'd suggest filing it down. I think most of these die when left cocked for long periods. I was lucky when I made this video that customer service sent me the part for free and didn't even ask for postage. I'd buy a new one when mine breaks it's just the best way to get rid of that annoying fly!
So where do YOU get replacement parts? I contacted bug-a-salt & they only offered me 25% off a new one .. no replacement parts .. so what's a fly killer supposed to do?
Yea bummer they stopped sending out spares. What id do at this point would be to try and file a flat edge back onto the trigger catch piece, so it will engage again and not slip. Good luck my dude!!
Now I know what that noise came from a few weeks ago. I left my Bug-A-Salt cocked and ready to go and hung it on the wall. Today a fly woke me up and my weapon wouldn't cock....and salt ran out of the barrel. My gun is very low time so I didn't wear the shear pin out....the pressure on it from leaving it cocked caused the breakage.....tip - always empty your chamber before storage.
This is the issue with these guns, the failure point. I have a 2.0 lawn and garden and a 3.0 black fly and the trigger catch is broken on both. The 3.0 being the most recent. I don't understand why I can't just get the exact part since some of us are mechanically inclined and are able to fix stuff. But they throw the fill out the warranty form at you. The idea of these guns is fantastic because it is super satisfying to shoot a fly.
@@TropicalMint808 Na, a part of it broke off. Tried supergluing it but it broke again. Tried some metal to hold the catch and I got three more shots out of the gun then it broke again.
can't remember exactly but I think i used a wiha ph1, had a set of them from Amazon. I recall needing a thin shaft driver as a bit driver won't fit in the holes.
I fix my own firearms all the time so I know what I am doing. my 3.0 will not come apart, I am afraid I will break the housing, all screws are out. It is so tight the most I can separate the handgrip is about 1/2 inch without breaking the housing. stumped and looking for answers. it is cocked but will not shoot, trigger locked, fore grip locked up tight , safety moves on and off freely, housing wont come apart, what to do?
not too sure about the 3.0 as I've heard they are different, but I'd guess they are similar. if it's not welded together from rust or corrosion, it might need sliding or twisting to get some of the plastic to separate. I recall on this 2.0 around the barrel and pump handle there were some lipped plastic pieces that needed to be slid or twisted and pried lightly. if it's already busted, just go slowly and think from a nerf gun perspective rather than glock perfection 🤣
if it's not staying cocked after you pump it, you'll need to disassemble the gun like I did and flatten the rounded edge of the trigger catch with a small file. They don't sell the replacement part from what I understand. Good luck!
miss a screw? I don't recall anything binding up the handle - believe the trickiest part was the barrel shrouding area where there was a little lip holding it together. I'd check for screws and slowly manhandle it from there especially if it'd already busted 🤣
@@TropicalMint808 not busted at all just has moisture in it from living near the coast. I placed it in front of a heater to dry it out. The barrel didnt want to loosen up nor did the handle. @@TropicalMint808 I am talking about the loading part/ sliding fore-end. Mine definitely doesn't want to release at all. I fear I will break it no doubt. It's as if it's been manufactured to break when you try and take it apart - forcing you to buy another... :)
@stephanpieterse6960 if it's the pump/rack part that won't come apart, might need to slide it to another position or pull and twist it slightly. You can do it just go slowly and wear some safety glasses if you do decide to pry 🤣

mines started shooting salt out without me even finishing the pump, and i just got mines days ago, and uhh also anyway to make the pump a little easier... to pump? almost difficult for a salt gun, it's like its a real shotgun?
The only way I could see it firing before finishing the pump, is if you aren't fully engaging with each slide. The strength of the shot in a design like this, is typically directly related to the strength of the spring which is attached to the pump/slide, making it easier to pump would result in a loss of power.
The hopper portion on top, or the internal chamber that holds the shot queued for firing? If the hopper, it doesnt have many places to leak so if the hot glue doesnt hold, id try a 2 part epoxy for a more permanent fix. Parts are going to be hard to come by.

The trigger catch is always a weak link, but make sure there is no lubricant on the plunger "hook" or on the catching edge of that square trigger catch. Otherwise this may lead to the gun misfiring before the parts are even worn out.
No doubt about that, there was a gob of grease where the catch slides up and down, but I imagine getting it on the engagement surface will cause it to slip. Maybe even act as a lapping compound and smooth it out as well. Mine is still holding up after a few hundred rounds with zero malfunctions!
I bought one 5 days ago and it was fine till today. When you cock it, it doesn't lock in place. It may be this same issue. Since it's so new, I'm going to just look at the latch and see if some of the lithium grease didn't get where it latches at. It was outside 4th of July and it was hot. Not direct sunlight though. Just Texas in the shade hot.

Just got mine today (the pink one, it was the cheapest for some reason) :) Was wandering if it would be possible to mod the plunger spring to make the gun more powerful? (we have some big fucking flies this summer :)) )
I've been on a quest for that myself, but I havent found such a spring yet (admittedly I havent searched much). A nerf upgrade spring or maybe an airsoft part might work, but the spring in there is pretty stout as it is. The problem I see happening and why I didnt pursue that (and went straight to a 22lr pistol loaded with rock salt, see my A-Salt-Glock video) is the trigger catch/plunger engagement wearing out quickly. The pieces are plastic on plastic and any more force on the union is going to kill it faster no doubt. Another consideration would be that it would be harder to rack. I did put several THOUSAND rounds of salt downrange with this gun before mine started to act up though! My suggestion for the big guys is coarse kosher salt and not the fine-grained table stuff that ends up just taking the wings off. I've tried rock salt like pink himalayan stuff, but it doesnt feed as well due to the large irregular grains.
You don't even need the indicator. Remove that part and the spring and you'll be able to cock and fire as fast as you can. I'm on my fourth one, and I think they're the best thing since sliced bread. I want to see one with a flashlight and not a laser; flies camp at night and are fun to blow away while they sleep.

If you don't have a warranty anymore, tear into that gun and try and file the trigger catch to recreate the squared edge. Worst case scenario is you f it up and have to throw it out anyway.

Sad, I know a few others have got them to send out replacements but perhaps they've recent changed their policy. If the gun doesnt work and they wont warranty and send parts, cant hurt to tear it down and see if you cant modify the current setup slightly to get it to notch in place.

That's not true. What we're dealing with here is that fairly sturdy toy that is delivering one of the more corrosive elements to kill flies. Depending on what kind of salt you use, you might have all kinds of adulterants also floating about inside of your toy. It's the reason why all the screws on the inside are horribly rusted. I recommend using a decent rock salt that doesn't have any secondary ingredients. You have to actually check the ingredients on salt, because even your salt might not just be salt. So, it's a toy but I use mine as a tool and it's absolutely indispensable. I think I'll be making my own video here shortly.
You have made this seem complicated, and I think it is indeed complicated. Lorenzo, you have succeeded in designing planned obsolescence to force people to buy a new gun every year.
I want to see one with a flashlight and not a laser; flies camp at night and are fun to blow away while they sleep.
thanks for the tip, honestly I'd like select fire co2 powered with a fat hopper for kosher salt 🤣🤣🤣
same issue...Trigger Catch broken...no luck yet on getting a replacement...email them and still want the ...batch ID.... my batch id was rub off..now its just white sticker...save your receipt or take picks ob batch id...cause your gonna need it.....fyi this is my 2nd one...threw my first one away til i saw this vid. for 2nd time around.
If you don't have a warranty anymore, tear into that gun and try and file the trigger catch to recreate the squared edge. Worst case scenario is you f it up and have to throw it out anyway.
camera angle sucks bro, did you not review this ???
I filmed this on a potato propped up by two twigs my guy. Enjoy your day, but please review the comments before feeling the need to add your own two cents to the already hundreds of dollars I've received regarding the camera quality 🤣 Take care brah
Can’t see the gun parts
sorry gramps I filmed this leaning an old phone up on some junk I had laying around, I'll put some effort in next time, promise!
Where’s the file for 3D printing!?
I know right! Next time mine breaks I'm going to see if I can replace it with a different material so I can run a stronger spring.
maybe if you kept the gun in the picture we could see how its done
I can't get the parts to fix mine . Is there a way to get parts ?
Seems they aren't sending the replacements anymore. Another youtuber had fixed theirs by filing the trigger catch to recreate the flat edge that gets rounded off.
I wonder if that plastic epoxy can be molded into a catch again.
Make sure you do not have this problem when doing battle with a nest of wasps.
Check out my a-salt-glock video if you want to up the firepower for big game lol.
Iv dropped many a wasp with this gu n, it wont kill them but it will get em on the ground so you can stomp em
...that's nice, where did you get the parts?
Emailed their customer service direct. They were super friendly and prompt. Cant say enough nice things about them.
@@TropicalMint808 I called them on the phone they were not super nice and not friendly!
They told me to buy a new one!
Sad, I know a few others have got them to send out replacements but perhaps they've recent changed their policy.
If the gun doesnt work and they wont warranty and send parts, cant hurt to tear it down and see if you cant modify the current setup slightly to get it to notch in place.
@@TropicalMint808 I was able to file down the trigger catch a little looks like it gets rounded off after a few 1000 rounds, works like new..
@@catfan449 Nice job! I'd definitely take a stab at it if I didnt have any replacement parts. Keep fighting the good fight against irritating critters!!
bei mir ist das arretier teil auch abgebrochen! die sollten das teil sowie den einrast hacken aus metall machen! wenn die das bei der 3.0 nicht gemacht haben, dann werde ich mir die teile selber 3d metall drucken lassen.

The company designed it to wear out after about 500 shots, and they refuse to sell repair parts.
maybe so, but they wouldn't be unique in planned obsolescence or scheduled maintenance etc. Its really just like a nerf gun in terms of quality. mine still running strong!!
And you have distanced yourself from these videos and have stopped selling spare parts. Lorenzo, you are not the good guy you make yourself out to be, but just another greedy businessman like all the others.
Do not buy this piece of rubbish. The company will not sell you spare parts, even if something small breaks! Due to poor quality it will not last long, maybe 2 years if you use it sparingly
mine is a year old and stopped workin
seems like a neat product but the company refuses to provide repair parts. Very disapointing, Ima wait for a competitor to improve on it.
yea I also like the idea of the co2 powered on they make, have to see if you can make your own salt rounds for that one as I can't see buying theirs.
Just looking at your table?not helping
hah I know. If you saw my camera setup for this, I'm sure you'd chuckle a bit at least.
I think you edited out the crucial part of the repair… is it just me?
I replaced the trigger catch part, which was the point of failure. They don't provide this anymore so you'll have to take a look at how it engages, and remake the flat edge with a file. Good luck!
@@TropicalMint808 Thanks for the reply! I found the part I missed around half way through the video. Off to thingiverse to see if someone 3D modeled a replacement part.
Be helpful if we could see the gun! Your holding it to high out of view of the video.
Ikik lol you're def not the first to notice 🤣🤣🤣
3-D printed parts
need to work on your camera location relative to the item you are discussing. It's off camera a lot.
Most of this video is off screen
Can't see it lol
I hear you, if you saw how my phone was propped up, you'd lol
@@TropicalMint808 were you able to repair the trigger mechanism?
@@Djimbeau i replaced it with a new part, I don't think its available so you'll want to try and recreate the edge that's been rounded off.
Most of the video is just the table.
Thanks brah : )
CANT SEE!!!
We can't even see what ur doing 😂😂
I can't see shit coz you ain't filming the gun
I have the 3.0 and it's even a bigger pice of crap than the 2.0. Mine hasn't been fired more than about 100 times and the sear has broken out, they changed the way it retaines the hammer and there isn't much of anyway to restore the surface that catches the hammer. like I said piece of junk don't waste your money
nice thanks for that, mine still ending flies. Rusty and clapped out but working ill avoid the new
Wtf

Dude do not give up your day job this is going to be the worst framed video I've ever seen why did you even bother uploading this
Good audio, video sucks. Sorry.
No worries my dude if you saw my setup you'd have a laugh. One step up from a potato 🥔
Terrible video.
Sorry. The video was not focused properly.
Had to turn it of after one minute.
no worries bro, it was literally filmed on a potato propped up with a carrot 🤣
Worthless video every thing is off the cameraa
@@WOODMISER2023 lmk when your video is up so I can drop a deuce on it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm gonna leave this video up to trigger you, forever, take care brah 🤣
🫤 Spending more time on a bug a salt than cleaning my glock....
I've legit got more trigger time on my bugasalt than my carry g43 at this point 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Where do you get this part ?
Can't anymore. I'd get a file and try and fix it when you see the flat edge that's rounded out.
