They never really changed the Kirby vacuum design all that much. My mom purchased a Kirby in 2000 I think, I was really young, and we still use it today. I still remember the salesmen coming in and shampooing our floor, trying to sell that vacuum any way they could. The 2000 Kirby pattern is different but all the attachments and overall structure seem to be almost the same. These vacuums are really good, I don't think we will ever have to purchase another one either!
Sounds like you have a Generation 6. Kirby is one of the best brands of vacuum you can buy. I have two: one is the 519 built in 1959 and one is the Diamond Edition built in 2005. I service most brands and rebuild Kirbys when I have the opportunity.
I was born in '81 and we had a '76 Kirby Classic III. Seeing yours, the attachments, the attachment mechanisms, were all the same and brought back so many memories of my childhood. Crazy!
Nice vid! I was born in 1986, and I also have a 1986 Kirby Heritage II, which I bought used. Only a few of the original tools were included, but I had to buy some separate attachments. My model doesn't have the LED magnet, but I don't care.
may want to open it someday and add some oil to the bushings of the motor, that could help it last far past your lifetime. oil or grease will do fine, just a tiny bit
This made me finally get one of these machines, after knowing about them (and wanting one) since childhood. Any suggestions for what to use to bring back the shine on the metal parts? It's not too bad, but needs a right good clean and polish up. Thanks!
if i did this in 3d printing i would make a high quality printed impeller, then use that one to make a mold to cast an aluminium impeller. then if theres any problems i can sand it down a bit to make it run well, but itd be so much easier than designing it from scratch.
i plan to use that process when i finally start designing my own rocket engines, but we shall see if cast metal can work in a turbo pump without exploding. will probably have to handle several tens of thousands of RPM and several hundred PSI pressure difference from intake to outtake, with an overall pressure somewhere around 1200psi. oh and pumping explosive fuel so cant have any sparking..... lol
Great video and follow up one too. It would not surprise me if the vacuum cleaner could be sold for a $1,000 to some "retro" collector. I think you know the type of person I am referring to, more money than common sense because it's "cool". Glad you also have the attachments for it, thus making it complete. All the best and, Cheers.
+Rinoa Leonhart That is a pity about the shampoo parts, but hey, not many people can say they have a vacuum that is that old and still working, right :) Cheers.
No need, they are still making them, still by door to door salespeople. You have to schedule an appointment in order to buy one. it is $1000 for a single "system".
i'm making a video for my main channel actually. none of us can mine much alone, but if we work together maybe we could mine enough so i could make videos of trying to buy stuff with it or maybe sit on it for a while and cash it in to buy a printing press or a lathe, ya know, good fun.
go to nanopool.org, under the Ethereum logo is "Quick Start" click that and download the Claymore miner. unzip the folder and find the file at the end called "start_only_eth.bat" and drag and drop it into a notepad program. in the file replace the last block of code with this. EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal 0xeE0eB5055E00e08352BbE58Ec5A3C152a948cb9D/CHOOSE_A_NAME/ -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10 and dont forget to choose a name for your miner, then save it and double click on that same file to run it, it should start running. if its running, you are helping my mine ethereum. you can check if its working if you find your Miner's name in my wallet analytics here eth.nanopool.org/account/0xee0eb5055e00e08352bbe58ec5a3c152a948cb9d and then if thats all working well and you want to mine for yourself you can make a wallet and replace the "0xeE0eB5055E00e08352BbE58Ec5A3C152a948cb9D" with your Ethereum wallet address. sadly my computer would have to run for a year before i could get payed, but if others help it could be more fun. happy mining!

Love my kirbys , there is no better vacuum out there. This was the 1st Kirby I ever saw demonstrated

I just picked one of this up , not sure if I like it yet . Its been a week.
The newer ones are self propelled .
I had a tune up on mine @ A2Z vacuum and now it rolls easily and is balanced. Before it wasn't.
Nice vid!

I think I'm going to use a cotton polishing wheel on my grinder and some tripoli fine polish
I think a 3d printed impeller would be rather unbalanced to the point that it would shatter
then you havent seen good 3d printing.
True, I haven't...
if i did this in 3d printing i would make a high quality printed impeller, then use that one to make a mold to cast an aluminium impeller. then if theres any problems i can sand it down a bit to make it run well, but itd be so much easier than designing it from scratch.
Now that would make a nice video! You could try this process even for other random parts, or even just as a proof of concept.
i plan to use that process when i finally start designing my own rocket engines, but we shall see if cast metal can work in a turbo pump without exploding. will probably have to handle several tens of thousands of RPM and several hundred PSI pressure difference from intake to outtake, with an overall pressure somewhere around 1200psi. oh and pumping explosive fuel so cant have any sparking..... lol
My head is minus the light. :-(
my Kirby was given to me by a friend of mine and I'll tell you it is a tank
i have that exact same vacuum

sadly im missing some attatchment parts, like half the parts for the carpet washer. oh well i might rebuild those, they are quite simple.

@@thelamb288 i love kirbys i have 6 of them they are the best vacuum money can buy
How did you get on with the mining ? I have been meaning to try it but never seem to get round to it.

and then if thats all working well and you want to mine for yourself you can make a wallet and replace the "0xeE0eB5055E00e08352BbE58Ec5A3C152a948cb9D" with your Ethereum wallet address. sadly my computer would have to run for a year before i could get payed, but if others help it could be more fun.

i think your Kirby contains atleast 60% etherium.....you can tell by the mid 80's laser red graphics on the handle peice.
lol
You inspire me to go to my stuff & winnow it. Brian 77
You are funny
