Gurlitt - Song without Words Op. 101, No. 10

Cornelius Gurlitt (Feb. 10, 1820 - Jun. 17, 1901) was a German composer. His studies took him from Germany to Copenhagen, where he'd reside as an organist and music teacher for 4 years, before moving to Leipzig, then finally Rome. His breadth of compositions ranged from songs, cantatas, symphonies, and operas.
Gurlitt’s Album Leaves for the Young, of which this piece is a part of, is a set of 20 short pieces, first published in 1880, aimed at the young student.
