David Gilmour - Red Sky At Night, On The Island World Tour 2007. Dave Gilmour, the voice and the Guitair of Pink Floyd, sing at the Royal Albert Hall, in London. Beautiful. Live.
All these years later. Simply one of the finest pieces of music Mr. Gilmour has ever made… arguably one of his best compositions ever in my not so humble opinion
I love this because it makes me realize that David Gilmour is not only one of the most talented guitar players ever, but one of the most talented artists. He is truly special.
by the time my son was 11 years old, he asked me if was only him, that felt a chilling feeling crawling up spine whem gilmour plays, he was only 11. gilmour's side effect lol, (sorry, i know my english is bad, never had a class or something, and that google tradutor its just .....messy) but my point is.... an 11 years old kid, that cry on gilmour solo.... means something.
Elmo Freen i did, and i gotta Tell ya....he's doing Just right. Now i can enjoy the sound of shine on, being played by my kid. I Just can't help feeling proud of him.
Doru Nastase I listened to a lot of Floyd growing up with my dad he died 6-7-15 We will see them again or I'll be damned 💛 💪🙂🤳 stay strong and never lose your spiritual currency friend.
I was also dedicated this song and imagine about my dad while i was listening. after seeing comments section I noticed ur comment. My dad is alive tho it can remember about my legend. anyway R.I.P About ur dad. And I was surprised caz both of us thought is matching and only Gilmore can do it to make all souls connected.
Sir Gilmour can play on set of pans and pots with couple of spoons and still have that distinctive Gilmour-esque feel that nobody can replicate. This is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. It has such an atmosphere and immerses you immediately. I imagine exactly what title says every time I hear it, and get lost in a moment of awe. Incredible.
+MrCorvusC I put off The Division Bell for a decade plus, and it wasn't until then that I realized how much I loved it. I think I just needed to mature in life to a point in which David was approximately around the early 90s. I loved PF growing up, but I've begun to grow closer to David and away from the mainstream PF, although I still love Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, some of Animals (namely Dogs), and I love Live from Pompeii (namely Echoes, new and old versions alike). I have the On an Island DVD that my wife bought me (this is her youtube account), as this track originates, and it's making me sad, that perhaps David's genius will be gone soon. :( I'm hoping to see him before there are no more chances...
I listen again... The breath, the fingers, the instrument responds, and heard is the soul, the passion, the lure of the Red Sky at Night. Rose Marie Raccioppi
Такой непревзойденный талант, которым является Дэвид Гилмор, земля рожает всего один раз, к сожалению!!! Спасибо Богу, за встречу с таким человеком и его творчеством! Музыкант и Человек на Века!!! Pink Floyd Forever!!!
Sometimes i just wonder, who the hell are those 76 idiots who dislike such a beautiful and mesmerizing music.. what a shame ! David Gilmour is a Legend..
I listened to the album "The Dark Side of the Moon" in 1974 when I was 18 and remained a fan of the life of the band Pink Floyd. At that time they began to compose avant-garde music both today and today. Thanks for having Pink Floyd.
Dave is the most complete musician ever !!! He can play everything with a unique style no one can ever copy. His name is writen with golden letters in the music history
Absolutely Haunting! Hard to believe this performance was six years ago now, 2007. Wow, time flies. Sad that Richard Wright passed away the following year after this. Pink Floyd officially came to an end with Rick's death, but their legacy and music will survive till the end of time. True art, true music!
Yes the man himself David Gilmour plays the sax he only learned to play in the last 3 years or so and graduated the same time as his son with Polly Samson fantastic what a feeling that must of been father and son amazing.....
You changed my life Mr. Gilmour. Your's was what I sought, the way you play. I was a boy when my mother gave me money to buy my first item of music at the mall. I chose you sir as I was a student of the guitar. I purchased Another Brick In The Wall on 45, it was the 70's, I think, I bought it because of what you do with a guitar. It's neat to find out all the other instruments that you play, wow. I was at Texas Stadium in '87', great show, all the band is great I hope I didn't insult anyone by not bringing everybody in Pink Floyd up. Anyway, thank you.
I feel same way as you, i can relate to this very much. I first fell in love with Pink Floyd when I was 17 listening to Dark Side of the Moon. Have loved them ever since, and Floyd are the reason I took up the sax. I have been to 2 concerts, 1 in 1988 Pink Floyd & David Gilmour in Brisbane Australia with A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. Amazing Concert, Having followed Pink Floyd all my life, I was totally blown away, sax was by Scott Page, a concert I will never forget. Latest concert was Roger Waters Us & Them Tour. Another great concert. Both Gilmour and Rogers are brilliant musicians as far as I am concerned. They were and still are the BEST.
Señores, esto es ser un MUSICO...Canta como los dioses, toca que da miedo. el saxo suena como la guitarra en sus manos..amo a este hombre. es un maestro, genio. etc etc etc.Gracias Dios por haberlo escuchado..
its simply so hard to believe i have tickets to his show in Pula this september...they say it's never too late to start realizing your dreams...this will be (oh i pray nothing will stop me) a one of them
The saxophone played here really touches the heart and brings all life's experiences to mind. Mellow but also able to push your thoughts to sadness and joy. Fab as ever.

@Earrot i could not possibly agree with you more. David is my lifelong hero since i learned about pink floyd in 78. I had the priviledge to meet him in miami in 87 during the momentary lapse of reason tour and the memory will live in my heart forever. god put him on this earth for a specific reason.
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shock both hands at the same time, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.

Just imagine a legendary guitarist who plays the saxophone like this. Such a musical genius David Gilmour is.
He translated voice of his guitar on saxo. Piece of soul in every note... Let me cry now, cause it is beautiful...
He puts his soul in everything he plays. That's why he's the best.
XaviMas Totally agree with you.

А ЧТО УДИВЛЯТЬСЯ ? ЭТО ТАЛАНТ ВЫСШЕЙ ПРОБЫ !!!! 👍👌👌👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is the first video and song ever that introduced me to David Gilmour even before the pink floyd, years back. Still getting goosebumps.
I love this because it makes me realize that David Gilmour is not only one of the most talented guitar players ever, but one of the most talented artists. He is truly special.
The man just gets better and better...Thank you Mr. Gilmour. ...Thank you
Man, he just knows how to get inside your soul doesn't he? RIP Rick
I weep when I hear him play these hauntingly beautiful melodies. He is a genius and I truly love him and his work. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Precious, rare, a gift to all of us in a world full of ugly and mean acts.
This song is dedicated to my dad... One week ago, my dad pass away... Rest in Peace to my dad! Thank you David Gilmour for this beautiful music!

Well, they tried that but i think it didn't work out for them
David Gilmour is not only a virtuous guitar-player, he knows how to touch the saxophone, and create the magic spell
I never knew Dave played sax! This is amazing, the feel of this song is just amazing. I can’t express it in words...
His son took lessons, so David jumped on as well..
Me too
He plays a variety of isntruments including drums
Все инструменты в его руках поют человеческим голосом.
Надчеловеческим. Вселенским. Идеальный образ мелодии, к которому стремятся отдельные ноты и аккорды.
Red sky at night, night when thousands souls alive, night when thousands people die, aways when red sky appear in the night...

For D. Gilmour, there is nothing impossible in music , it's just no words !
No puedo parar de escuchar esta versión.. me parece alucinante y que despierta mis más agudos sentidos. Gracias.

No one even comes close to the music that David Gilmour plays Would be nice to see him toward one more time
Sir Gilmour simply exudes music ,,,,, I am so talentless I don't even deserve to hear it
+Bret B Don't say that about yourself! U have enough talent to recognize beautiful music!! We All deserve to enjoy it - that's what it's made for.
That's why people like Mr. Gilmour are here m8 :)...You do you & be good at it!
Fans: "What are all the instruments that you play?"
Gilmour: "Yes."
For a lead guitarist saxophone is a natural extension. David sounds unique when playing it, he is true to himself.
Sometimes i just wonder, who the hell are those 76 idiots who dislike such a beautiful and mesmerizing music.. what a shame ! David Gilmour is a Legend..
