    propane is not my preference but? you know if you have a quarter sheet palm sander handy it works pretty good to vibrate the air bubbles out of mixes like that!

      It gets the job done :) Yeah it's a good trick.

    Awesome work! Something that could help you when you when leveling the refractory is a saws all without a blade. Still amazing work!

    A foot pedal would be nice to open the door rather then a handle

      I wasn’t about to say this, but then saw your comment.
      Have a pedal, but try and gear it so that the heel can be on the floor and the ball of the foot moves (like heel-toeing a car accelerator). This will aid in maintaining balance. You don’t want to be stumbling when moving hot metal.

    Maybe foot pedal for opening the door would be better? Both hands will be free, and you can even integrate a stopper for open position.

    How much refractory did you use fir for the complete build 🤔

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cant remember. I'd say just buy plenty. You'll need for future repairs anyway.

    Nice, is it more pleasant to work with a gas forge?

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I don't have a lot of time on the weekdays or just need to do something quick it's real nice. Very clean compared to coal, not as many black boggers after long days of forging. But ideally I'd like to have both. Coal forge is awesome because you can consentrate the heat very well on specifc areas. Gas forge not so much. I don't miss the coal forge as much as I thought I would. Thank you as always mate!

    • @awldune
      @awldune ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MakeNCreate Does gas heat up faster? I wonder if the carbon content of the steel is affected when you're not burning coal.

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@awldune coal is way faster. And yes, steel does decarborize faster in a gas forge since there's none.
