Is that the same as putting a patina on actual bronze and not bronze clay? The pattern you got with the Legos was nice.

From Mark Nelson of Rio Grande: Patinas in general can be very sensitive and delicate. Sealing them with a lacquer such as Finish Seal lacquer #335-123 or a wax such as Renaissance wax can help prolong the life of the color and help keep the copper from turning your fingers green. Applying a sealer however can alter the color of the patina (usually making it darker). This video is great!
What cleaning solution was used to clean the bronze before patination?

I'm using liver of sulphur to patina some copper rings. What can I use to prevent the rings from turning my fingers green? Also how long should the patina last?

Can the piece be tumbled before patination or should it have a rough surface? Thanks! I love all your videos!

@Janet Foster: You can use a clear metal lacquer to coat the item when finished, it should actually protect the patina but go careful brushing, or even better, use a spray lacquer, but don't go too heavy or it will be very obvious, create a lot of shine and perhaps ruin the intended aged look :) Will definitely protect your fingers though.
    Hope that helps

Can the patination receive heat? I would like to try this effect on one part of a cuff and do another part with enamel. Should I enamel first and then add the patination? Thanks :)

Heat will ruin most if not all patinas because they are just surface treatments.

Hi Sharee702. You should enamel first. Patinas don’t take heat very well and will get destroyed. They should be the very last or almost the last thing you do to the bracelet before it is done.
I hope this is of some help.

That lady is really annoying. She's the reason I hardly watch these old Rio vids.
