Aah great news on Test 👍. Always a worry until results come in! Looking forward to wedding & delighted you can make it. Looking forward to catching up 🥰🥰
Testing time is stressful. Delighted you are keeping maverick. She is a great character. All your stock are looking very healthy expecially the calves. Thanks for a lovely update as usual
Thank you Marie walked through the cows last night all seem very clean thank God. And our jasper has become very manly all of a sudden. He might be small but he's walking a big as he can following the cows. Very funny actually to see him and he only a baby 😀
Thank you Steve she's flying it. She has took up with the 2 red shorthorn cows. Thriving now. I'm going to stay the coarse this year but I can always change direction. We are all in at this point 🤞
Great to see cattle eating long grass , he’s masculine looking that bull he won’t have any issues. Good luck with the test results tomorrow, hopefully all good . An old farmer neighbour of mine years ago maintained it was the shed that spread TB and not badgers . He housed animals always as far as I know but always white washed the walls every year to kill bacteria. He was an interesting man with an uncomfortable relationship with conventional agriculture. Went to Ag college in 1930s . Greg Judy reminds me alot of him .
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569hopefully now all will be 100% 👋🏻 . I could write a book on the stories from that man . Everything from seeing the Tans killing a man in front of of him while he was on his way to the creamery at 12 years of age to making pit silage in the 40s/50s , when you could make a living on 19acres . He was a great man .
Hi Sean . You’re a pure gentleman. I never expected you to reply, I was only honestly concerned about the size of the bull . Your shorthorn calves are really beautiful. Thanks again from Australia maybe someday I’ll come visit you. lol lol Regards Donnie
Welcome back my friend .. and there you go again .. absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation documentary countryside content video and you nailed it again, gorgeous filming camera work and I really appreciate and enjoy watching your lifestyle documentary video channel .. million thanks again from Montreal QC Canada
Thank you donnie. I share your concern tbh. One thing I've noticed though is he has become very manly ever since I left him in. He is doing his rounds I'm the evenings following the cows and balling. We'll know soon enough I suppose and we're early too🤞
Great stuff, Seáinín. I hope your bull works well. No doubt he will. There's an old Mark Twain saying "Find a job you enjoy doing and you'll never have to work a day in your life" ;)
Absolutely Willie I literally didn't stop all day yesterday, I only eat at 9 last night, between the cattle and jobs for my daughter it was all go but a great day was had🙌 Getting back to the bull, could it be possible he became a bull over night. I've never witnessed such a change he is following all the cows and balling on his rounds all business this couple of days. He bullied Davies hiefer last night although I've my doubts she'll keep with only 4 weeks calved but he had her humped like a cow sick with the calving 🙌
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 I tell you, if he gets a taste of his first serving of a cow, there'll be no going back for him!!! Yes, Davie's cow might not hold this time, but she also might! But certainly the next time!
Jasper is young and full of energy. He should settle your cows easily. I figure he'll catch many of them the first cycle. The Belties and Shorthorns milk better. It seems you're leaning towards the Shorthorns and Beltie crosses. If that is the case Jasper should do the trick. Lead cow's heifer, the black shorthorn cross and the blue roan heifer should make a nice addition to someone's herd. 🙂
Thank you Colman 🤞. I'm diving in head first this year. But I keep telling myself I want small hardy calves that trive out all year. Plenty hair and don't pull the cows down. We'll see. 🙌
Well Martin thank you. Yes both bulls are gone. They left me 3 wee beauts of roan heifers. Total out cross this year. We'll know soon enough if I've make a mistake and even so we'll be fine 🙌
Good Luck with the test. Young Jasper should have a mineral lick and even some rations to keep his strength up for the work in front of him. It would be very nice to have a herd of cows with his bloodlines.
Pj I actually can't believe how manly he became in the last few days. I think he just realised what he was. He stands better moves better follows the cows balling to him self doing his rounds. Davies heifer was bulling last night yes early I know but he had her humped like a cow sick with the calving. His test levels just sky rocketed
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 I had little fear the boy would perform with his background. Young bulls get very excited though and with the cows chasing as well they don't get to eat enough so they can lose condition quickly and get tired. Best to keep him topped up with some extras. Another plus point for Davys heifer as well. She keeps great condition to be back in the game so quickly. Any heifer calf from her is a keeper.
Thank you John. I was doubting myself for a while when he went all yearling looking with me. But his test levels seem to have sky rocketed in the last few days. Looks and acts very bully now🙌
Great grass Sean. They should fatten soon. I think I’d give the red whiteheads daughter a chance and bull her. Her mother was a good cow and she’s a shorthorn whitehead mix. I know you love Maverick but the red whiteheads daughter is a much better fit for your system than Maverick who took two years to cycle and will be 3 years calving down and will probably come under huge pressure when she has to rare a calf with her dairy background.
Well ian. I can't disagree with you there. My reasons for letting her go is she's very flighty. Black maverick too and beag and madra all would be on for jumping walls and gates when tightened. Og maverick will come home I'm breaking rules but my daughter wants to milk her for the house
Smaller cows make money, two smaller cows weaning two four hundred pound calves will beat one sixteen hundred pound cow weaning one six hundred pound calf on the same grass. More pounds to sell wins every time in my book plus a little insurance if something happens. If one calf doesn’t make it of the two you have one to sell. If one of one bigger calf doesn’t make it you have nothing to sell.
I'm not a million miles in disagreement with you Edward. Yes I'm taking a chance but that bull is coming from a very similar operation to ours. We have to remember I want small hardy calves that trive out all year finished on coarse marginal land. He's not related to any of them either lad
Just love those little calves Sean 🤗. I could watch them all day with their antics 😄😄x
Thank you Noelle all clear with the test thank God. I'll see you at the wedding if not before 😀

Your cows are looking good and Jasper brings hope for next year and more Belties. How's Motherless May? Great grass Sean I could almost smell it 😊

He's all business now Ronald. It's like he became a bull over night. An amazing thing to be honest
Delighted to hear you are holding onto Maverick Seán, fierce fond of her. Great up date as usual.

I will surely lad thank you. There heading to it today. Cows look very clean not lumps thank God 🙌

How many heifers will you be bulling this year
4 including maverick. . I'm looking through my cows this evening. I've to sell.. To many for the coming year 🤔
It’s his maturity you have to be concerned about, if he’s only been with those cows for a few hours, he should be sniffing around like a ferret
