ปกติคนไทยมักจะใช้คำว่า “สร้างเนื้อสร้างตัว” แทนคำว่า “สร้างชีวิต” ถ้าใช้คำว่า “สร้างชีวิต” ก็พอเข้าใจได้ครับแต่อาจจะต้องขยายความนิดนึง เช่น “มาสร้างชีวิตใหม่ที่เมืองไทย” หรือ “มาสร้างเนื้อสร้างตัวที่เมืองไทย”
Paddy, the phrase “ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่” means "to live here" but the meaning of "สร้างชีวิตที่นี่ (to build a life here)" is deeper or wider. It includes he settles here, has a job and has his own family here (wife and children). I guess he doesn’t think of moving back to live in his own country again so he uses “to build a life here”
ตั้งรกรากอยู่ที่ประเทศไทย(settled in Thailand) คือคำตอบสุดท้าย ครับผม
อาจารย์ปีเตอร์พูดว่าสร้างชีวิตที่นี่ สร้างครอบครัวที่นี่ ผมคิดว่าเป็นคำพูดที่ดี ระดับ Advance เป็นประโยคที่ฟังสละสลวยครับ
ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่ = You live here, spend your life here.
สร้างชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่ = You built your life here.
I didn't realise how hard Thai language is so hats off to all of you guys who are studying Thai or any languages.

As Thai, I can say that Rom’s Thai is terrific.
I heard dropping subject of a sentence is common in Spanish, so in Thai (sometimes, a lot of time) we drop verb-to-be (bpen) when it comes to adjectival kind of sentences. It would be like; you cute, they cool, i bored, jacob amazing, prime minister stupid, etc.
haha surpised to see Doctor Donna! Her practice is not far from where I lived in Thong Lor and I went to see her when I was sick once. Very helpful.

มันมีสำนวนไทยที่ใช้แทนประโยคนี้ได้อยู่ว่า "สร้างเนื้อสร้างตัว" it means to make a living and settle down.

ราชบัญญัติ ได้ให้ความหมายว่า "ก. สร้างฐานะให้ดีขึ้น สร้างฐานะให้มั่นคง. " ครับ

6:38 I just want to add here that the word ("สร้างชีวิต") is totally valid and being used all around among Thai people. And the meaning is : to settle or to build up your fortune(make money)/family/etc so that your living is at a good quality (or at your expected level)
so "สร้างชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่" can have implicit meaning of 'to settle down here (and live here for the rest of my life)'

This's very interesting, there are many foreigners wanted to learn Thai. I spoke Thai with Esaan dialect, when I first moved to Bangkok.

I was actually born in Laos...left at age of 2 as a refugee to the US in 1979. As you know I'm sure, there is a lot of overlap with Thai and Lao. I was actually born in Sayaboury province...which was a part of Thailand during WWII. I'm quite sure you know that that THailand has many regiions just like Laos...meaning there are various dialects. By and large I do agree with what you're saying.

I love your channel. I'm from the northeast/ Isaan Khorat and Chaiyaphum (isaan have similarity or closely to Lao but Khorat and Chaiyaphum is definitely a mixture and a much different tone) which we speak much different dialect perse. Proper thai have changed a lot since I've been home especially among young speakers but since I'm from Khorat we still have to speak proper or middle Thai in our study. Your channel is great and I am surprise to see so many Farang learning Thai and speak better thai than me. 5555555

สร้างชีวิตที่นี่ is not that natural, sounding more like its from literacy or nobel book somewhere. However it s a beautiful phrase and quiet deep meaning. Its covering area of working to learn living as well as raising family too

What i found funny in all 5 videos of the serie, is that many people (maybe half of them) that didn't go/live in Thailand, had better "accents"/"tonalities" than people living there.
That is something i don't really understand. The people living in Thailand should hear the right accents/tonalities all the time but they not correct themself.
I notice this when I stay with my foreigner friends that live in Thailand but i didn't know it is so "widespread".

สร้างชีวิต is able to be used. There are other words like ตั้งรกราก or ย้ายมาอยู่ is more easier.
Please let me correct one spelling mistake at 8.25. It has to be ทำงานก็ "สนุก" ดี (not สะนุก). 😊

The phrase 'สร้างชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่' which Peter used is not common, but it's correct and deeper than a normal phrase. It's understandable since he said that he has been in here for more than 12yrs.

Teaching Thai language faces dilemma of the words " ฉัน" and "เธอ", still no convention in which way to go. It's fundamental words equivalent of "I" and " You" as for learning basic sentence composition but outdated and impractical for spoken language. Thais use some other words else according to the context but rarely "ฉัน" and "เธอ".

From native Thai speaker I think you can say ‘ สร้างชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่’ it’s definitely not incorrect sentence and it’s quite what Thai expert should say.

I called my primary school teacher อาจารย์. For me, it's okay to call it that way. Maybe because I was studying in a school that is affiliated with the university. So the teacher asked me to call อาจารย์ rather than ครู.

Yeah, as a Thai guy, i have to admit that his Thai skill level is 99.99% perfect as if he is a really native Thai people. The coolest thing from him is he can flip Thai proverbs into English proverbs and teach to Thai people very well
