I rewatched Are You Afraid of the Dark? about six years ago, and it's really telling that I barely remember any of the Season 6 and 7 episodes you talked about. I don't even remember the lazer tag or wolf episodes, and I only remembered the Gruesome Gourmets once you talked about how over-the-top it was. My personal least favorite is The Tale of Jake the Snake, which featured such a goofy antagonist (a snake that stood upright and talked in a weird lisp) that I was laughing whenever he appeared on screen. Not a good sign for your kid-friendly horror show. Also, the kid from "The Tale of Oblivion" is Daniel Clark, who later went on to star as Sean in Degrassi.
Season 6 & 7 are all very forgettable - which is a shame cause that was the reboot era. Jake The Snake is another low tier episode too... it almost made the cut HA HA HA Thanks for watching and the support - Make sure to hit that SUB BUTTON for more awesome videos coming soon
Thanks Buddy - I forgot how bad and dull some of these stories were.... BUT I loved them all when I was a kid... guess I didn't know and better ha ha ha. Thanks for watching and make sure to hit that SUB button.
I gotta say the crooked sign and frozen ghost scared me as a kid and are some of the only ones i remembered without rewatching. Like they definitely haunted me lol
If you get a moment - you should go back and watch them. It's kinda fun to relive those nostalgic vibes. Thanks for watching I appreciate the support - Remember to hit that SUB Button for more awesome videos coming soon
I feel like they make the episodes based on the midnight society's personality.. i mean the leader with the glasses always told the best stories i feel. Lol
Please keep these coming!! I love them! I will say "The Tale of the Hungry Hounds" is memorable because it was the first AYAOTD episode I ever watched and I rode horses as a girl so I loved her riding habit, but the story line was just wack af!!! 😂😂😂
@@Wild1Unknown Idk. I'll have to think on it. Someone needs to mention the possessed dog on the intro to "Goosebumps"..the creepy song and bark thing they always did for that with the cute/"scary" doggo's eyes glowing lives rent free in my head to this day. 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly I loved The Frozen Ghost…my mom & I quoted “I’m cold” for YEARS. Looking back at it, it’s definitely pretty cringe, but I still have a huge soft spot in my heart for it😭
I still quote it with my buddy all the time - it lives in our heads rent free. Thanks for watching and supporting - make sure to hit that SUB button for more awesome content coming out soon.
I think most of the worst episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark were in the late 90's continuation of the series. As they stopped being about modern retellings of classic stories. Also, I don't like the new reboot. As they made the Midnight Society part of the story, and it's just one giant long episode instead of being an anthology series like the original.
I agree with all this.... You can see there is a clear departure from certain styles of story telling and arcs. Thanks for watching and supporting. Make sure to hit that SUB button for more awesome videos coming soon.
A fact I bet you didn't know. Season 5, episode 13: The episode ends with a door shutting with a sign on the door with the number "65". That was because this was supposed to be the last episode, which was episode 65. And the door shutting was like saying "goodbye". But then a couple of years later, they brought the show back after it had ended.
I see this list want heavy on the revival seasons. A second list that focuses on the original run might be in order. Maybe a top 5 instead of ten. A Best and Worst episode of each season might be a good list. I think The Tale of Old Man Corcoran falls flat. It's never really that scary and the twist is pretty obvious from the get-go.
Eerie Indiana is still my favorite live action kids show. My top 3 ranking: 1. Eerie Indiana (1991) 2. Are You Afraid of the Dark?, first run, i.e. first 65 episodes. 3. Salute Your Shorts
I love all these - Funny side story... I didnt see Eerie Indiana til I was in College and my GF at the time made me watch it.... I was astonished at how good it was. Thanks for watching and supporting. Make sure to hit that SUB button for more awesome videos coming soon.
I loved salute your shorts! "when I think of you it makes want to".....forgot about that classic! Never saw Eerie Indiana how did I miss that show. I must check it out. I must.
@@RR-bd4jp Make sure to check out the 1991 version of Eerie Indiana. As they did a crappy reboot in 1998. Though I'd also watch the 1998 version and just pretend it's like the 1991 show.
There was a Goosebumps episode (The Girl Who Cried Monster) that where the kids were very sure that their neighbors were disappearing, but it ended up being that their parents were monsters that were eating everyone.
I'm 41 and watch AYAOTD, Goosebumps and The Haunting Hour quite a lot still (love nostalgia). Question... how did Stig not get into the Midnight Society after telling The Tale of Dead Mans Float (possibly the best story EVER!)? Never understood that! Anyway, lol I've Subscribed.
I bet everybody remembers their first episode. Mine was Tale of the Captured Souls where the creepy kid drains people's life through mirrors in the house. I watched it with my cousins as a kid and was scared as hell during the ride home, even though sitting in a car had absolutely nothing to do with the episode.
I will always remember that kids hair cut ha ha ha. Thanks for watching and supporting. Make sure to hit that SUB button for more awesome videos coming soon.
Oh man. The manaha episode is actually one of my all time favorites. For some reason, that one scared the shit out of me as a kid. That, the vampire hospital one, and the swimming pool one. 3 scariest episodes.
Ha ha ha - Well the good news we are all aloud to have out own personal favorites ha ha. Thanks for watching I appreciate the support - Remember to hit that SUB Button for more awesome videos coming soon
Not just the sauce but also writers ha ha ha. I noticed a huge shift in the quality of writing with later episodes. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the support.
Oh man my cringe factor just went to the moon, I love it 🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😆 these episodes are fantastic. keep the videos coming! Wathcing them makes me forget that our country is in 41 trillion dollars in debt and makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks Wild!
The frozen ghost, is just annoying because of the kid hahaha but besides this one, the common denominator of the list, is they're out of from the latest seasons... Which i really didn't care about.
Hungry Hounds is the first episode I ever saw!!!! I was so young so it's one of my top 5 episodes ever!!! Lmao!! I believe everything you say but I love that staircase... i love the nonsense! And that virtual pet one is the newest one I've seen, just this year, it was so funny. Last year my brother and I cracked up watching the Badger episode
the two gentlemen your thinking may be the twins from Eerie Indiana. Always nice and always looking to please anyone. cause when it comes to goosebumps the villains are always just a single person never too many that are in pairs.
No remember those twins from Eerie Indiana. That was a good episode with them. I am sure I was confusing it with something from goosebumps. Thanks for watching and supporting
I like a lot of there videos but I would say they pander to the basic formula of what people want to remember or wanna hear. Rather than forming new ideas or content
The manaha was horrible just horrible. When i was a kid i didn't even understand the episode but i understood i hated it. I actually enjoyed the gruesome gourmet episode. I don't think it was bad , definitely not the best. I liked Dotty but i agree it doesnt feel like it belongs. The hunted was a nightmare of an episode and should be scrubbed from history. PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO OF THE BEST EPISODES.. The tale of Badge still scares me, Quicksilver was sooo good to and one of the scariest ones.
Lol the second hand embarrassment is real. The tale of the dollmaker, the tale of the quicksilver, and the tale of the closet keepers were some of the worst episodes to me. Looking back at it now and growing up in Ontario, Canada just brings back all the love for this show.
So funny cause go look at my Top 10 Good list and you will see so many people say " Silver Sight is Top Tier" ha ha ha. This show hits all the nostalgic vibes. Thanks for watching and supporting. Make sure to hit that SUB button for more awesome videos coming soon.
I think Tale of the Quicksilver could be made into a decent-enough movie. The idea was alright and the ghost was pretty spooky looking, but the episode and solution were kind of rushed.
Quicksilver remains a fav for me as well, but yes, you definitely have to accept the limitations of how much story they can tell in a single episode with that one, and there's definitely moments where it's kind of stretching. STILL - a ghost that targets kids and makes them sick, giving their parents more reason not to believe them? EEP
I gotta tell ya.... I thought Tale of the Frozen ghost was BADASS and UNFORGETTABLE and TOP. TIER. TELEVISION but if im being completely honest, the last time I saw it was when I was like ... 9. :D If I watched it at 39 I dont know if I would have the same reaction :D
Ha ha ha thats too classic. I say watch it again today and see what you think and get back to me. I would love to know if your opinion has changed ha ha ha
