I was there live! Went to that tournament for the pro-am with my buddy Darren Chaffin when we were just out of high school. I bought the Twisted Fury when we got back because that's the ball Parker won with. Hell of a show and a rare one with it being all lefties!
I personally find it more interesting nowadays when there are all 1 handers on a telecast. Hardly happens anymore, but can be enjoyable seeing lower rev guys on TV
@@DanielLopez0224 bro ain’t nothing wrong with wanting to see different players than you. 2 handers be depicting 1 handers as boomers and stubborn when it comes to 2 handers, which plenty are, but look at yourself! Smh 🤦♂️
@@bunker5696 Why are you claiming that I’m a two handed bowler? I’ve not mentioned that, nor am I for that matter, I just think his mindset behind it is irrational, he is clearly very bothered by them judging by his post. I, for one, am not in the slightest, being a one handed myself.
i like to study bowling approach and form like the pros do it and this will help improve my own action as a left handed bowler, thnx. rhino page is very dynamic and fun to watch.
As the lefty. Thanks for the share. That was fun. I watch PBA on TV every time I can if I can find it. They seem to hide it and move it around from channel to channel every time
I might be mistaken but I seem to remember that there were five lefties on the show in the 1966 Showboat Invitational. I remember Dave Davis, Butch Gearhart and Skee Foremsky. Foremsky won and he shot a then-record four game total of about 1050. I was only six years old at the time and I might have it all wrong. I also recall that during the mid-1970s Dick Weber and Nelson Burton Jr. were fined for bowling left-handed in a PBA tournament as a protest against what they thought were conditions that favored left handers.
Speaking of left handers, an interesting video idea could be left handers who have won the US Open. It's only been done eight times: Mike McGrath (73), Paul Moser (76), Johnny Petraglia (77), Steve Cook (86), Mike Aulby (89), Mike Scroggins (09), Ryan Ciminelli (15) and Rhino Page (17). Speculation has always been the oil pattern is challenging to left handers.
In the early '70s there was a tournament (in California maybe?) where the top 24 bowlers were all left-handed. At that time the lane oiling was done by the house and for whatever reason they rigged the shot so only lefties could score. It was because of this that the PBA started oiling the lanes for tournaments
It would be good to have some context in the video. How were lefties placing in the other tournaments that year? How many lefties were in top 10/20/50 in points that year? How many lefties were in top 50 points then vs. now? What did overall field of lefties average in that tournament vs. righties? Same for the full year and how about this year? Some of those things would have given more context to just how much of an anomaly this result was.

Great show! RIP Billy Oatman...
In the early 70s, 23 of 24 players in the match play finals were left handed. I believe the winner was Larry Lichstein

I see nothing judgemental from the original post. Did you read it correctly? He finds it intriguing

That Twisted Fury was so good. Wish brunswick would make that one next for their vintage line
Weird to see all 5 lefties throwing resin on a PBA show huh?

When Parker is lined up and throwing nice shots he can be pretty hard to beat but good game by Rhino
This has happened other times, not just this event. I know the 1997 ToC was 5 lefties; I’m pretty sure there were other times as well.
it happen in 2015 but that was only 4 bc that was the wsob

I think that was the tournament that Dick Weber and Nelson Burton Jr. started throwing back up balls...and got in trouble for it
Ebonite open 1970
Final sam’s town pwba event in 2000 was all lefties as well!
The 2015 viper Championship was all lefties as well
85 to 90% of the world is right handed. Just goes to show how much easier it is to be a lefty bowler.
Some people think Lefties make the show all the time.
When did Asymmetrical patterns debut on the PBA?

6:10 Rhino left the 6-9 not 6-8.
1:32
Steph Curry with the shot Boy
And up next a only two handers telecast
i like lefty bowlers like me.
Left side is walled😂😂
God I hated bowling against lefties. Down and in, down and in, down and in... lol
My brother is lefty. He hates it to. Since he could play a lot of different angles.
Lefty here!
