In Belgium around 1985/1986, it wat very sought after for the diggers.
Creative song and video! This and Grace Jones's Slave to the Rhythm are two of the best avant garde videos to arrive that same year.
I'm suprised too : 1985...it sounds very modern !
This is typical sound of the 80's :-D there were many japanese and british synth-pop bands that were producing extremely creative work then... Unfortunately, most of them were not known from the general audience :-( But their work, even though released more than 30 years ago, still sounds more creative/fresh/relevant than a lot of things produced nowadays... I feel lucky cos' i've been listening to all these interesting bands/artists since my early age :-D But it's also great when some of them are "re-discovered", thanks to the internet... ;-)

Just listen to Hosono's "Alternative 3" from his SFX-Album from the same year th-cam.com/video/UpuA4hag0cU/w-d-xo.html I was "deep" into 80's japanese electronics at that time (still enjoy it) and "Mission" of Jansen/Barbieri was not that surprising for me. Funny: I travelledabout 250 km in 1985 from Stuttgart to Munich only to get a copy of the japanese CD "Worlds in a small room" (including "Move in circles" vocal version), which was available in the WOM-record-store. Still have this CD ;)

The original title for this video is PRIMITIVE (2013) from a performing Japanese Art Company called ENRA that presents the fusion of motion graphics and bodily expression. Original music is different but the beautiful Mission fits very well.
