  • I show you how to clean a Levoit Humidifier. Model LV600HH. This humidifier is extremely easy to clean. Once you remove the nozzle tank of the humidifier, detach the mist channel and remove the mineral absorption pad.. Soak the nozzle and mist channel in white vinegar. Pour white vinegar into the inner chamber of the humidifier to soak for one hour.
    While the Levoit humidifier soaks, use a brush soaked in vinegar to clean around the air vent. Clean the nozzle and mist channel, and use water to rinse off the mineral pad. Leave these three pieces out to dry. Once the inner channel has soaked for an hour, use your brush to clean. Repeat soaking with vinegar as necessary. Make sure your Levoit humidifier is completely dry before reassembling. This is especially important if you're putting your humidifier into storage.
    You should be an expert at cleaning your Levoit LV600 HH humidifier after watching this short video. This method should work with nearly all humidifiers. Remember to clean your humidifier frequently so it will last longer.
    Thank you!

      @@KillThisPlant do you have any trouble with your humidifier thermostat being off ? Mine and I have 2 seem to always be off 5-10 from what my humidity monitor (have 2) reads different then humidifier lights say. Any way to fix that.

    Hey there! When deep cleaning, I can just use regular tap water mixes with 1 cup of vinegar, right?
    Thank you great video!

      the manual says that if there’s too much water in the base at once that the steam will have a hard time forming. have you tried completely dumping the base and tank, refilling the tank, lightly placing onto the base and keeping it very still before turning on again? otherwise i think calling the manufacturer for a replacement wouldn’t be a bad idea

    i bought mine off fb market. everything seems to be fine until it starts to drain like crazy. what does that mean? does that mean the previous owner got water into the air way?

  • @mathismuller6033

    Great video, thanks! I would however not recommend to use vinegar on the base part of the machine, as vinegar corrodes silicone, which some of the essential parts of the machine might be made out of. I thing citric acid might be better. Also I would dilute it a lot more.

      Thank you for leaving a comment!
      The instructions to use vinegar come directly from the manufacturer and are in the instruction manual. It calls for undiluted white vinegar. But yes, citric acid is also great alternative.

    • @KillThisPlant

      The manual suggests it to be cleaned every 3 days. You can find the user manuals through the levoit website.
      Deep cleaning once every 2 weeks.

    Can I use bleach for the inside?

    • @scign
      @scign ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to remove all traces of chemicals so whatever you put in it, you're likely to breathe a bit of it in when you start using it. Vinegar is the safest option. Some people advocate using a little hydrogen peroxide but that can cause lung tissue damage.

    Also, I cannot for the life of me ever get the lid that locks on the water tank off!!!! Do you have any tricks?

    • @KillThisPlant
      @KillThisPlant  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes that can give a bit of trouble. I noticed that you don't actually have to seal it super tightly. When I do it's very difficult to get off.
      I made sure my hands and the lid is dry before I try.

    • @DJStarfruitOfficial
      @DJStarfruitOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wear a rubber glove that I use to wash dishes when I remove the round lid. Grip it tight and turn with whole arm not just wrist.

    • @davestelling
      @davestelling ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here, I just don't hand tighten it as much and then use a dish towel...

    • @scign
      @scign ปีที่แล้ว

      A small towel sometimes helps to get some grip.

  • @Adeline9418
    @Adeline9418 ปีที่แล้ว

    Psssst. Hydrogen Peroxide in humidifier when you run it. Keeps it so clean.

    • @scign
      @scign ปีที่แล้ว

      Might want to be really careful with that. H2O2 can cause lung tissue damage if breathed in. This might not be noticeable in the short term but, personally, I wouldn't want to risk it.
