My best ever bike in 54 years is probably the slowest my Classic 350 reborn that I have owned for the last 2 years. Good old fashioned motorcycling with the reliability of a modern bike, but no rider aids that are not needed. Each ride is a pleasure that just makes you smile, speed limits just do not matter. Great bimble on your bullet 😊

I like my slow motorcycles. They are more fun. It's like when l fly my bi- plane. It's to enjoy the experience of flying not to be down on the ground sooner.

I think as we age as motorcyclists speed becomes less important. I can speak from my own experience of over 40 years riding and say when I was younger speed played a big part of my riding enjoyment whether a big or small bike I owned at the time but now I ride a 2017 Bullet 500 and love every moment and every ride pottering enjoying the countryside, you see a lot more to appreciate 😊

Great video VB. Enjoyed the yarn about the Audi driver - I can just imagine that scenario! Also, I really enjoyed your chat about Dennis Poore and the subsequent actions with the Interceptor. I found that very interesting. Such a shame some people are so quick to 'shoot the messenger', so to speak.

I had a funny one outside my local post office collection centre
Out side there are 4 car parking spaces longways to the road and 3 motorcycle spaces next to each other at the end facing across the road all in a layby with a brick wall at the end
The car spaces were empty but a car had pulled up across the 3 motorcycle bays
I could see no reason for this apart from being a few paces closer to the door of the collection office
So I pulled my bike right up close to the car and chained my front wheel (yes I know I'm childish)
I went in the sorting office as two blokes came out with a parcel
They saw my bike and shouted back "how long you gonna be mate" I said not long
I went in got my parcel
    Slowly walked back
Slowly put my parcel in my rucksack
Slowly put my helmet and gloves on and unlocked the bike
"How long is this gonna take" got shouted at me
    But I didn't reply
I kicked my bike into life
Slowly backed it up and rode off
I had my eye on the mirror half expecting them to be right behind me but they didn't
I am a bit of an ol' git I guess 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A nice trundle around the rural lanes in the sunshine . 😊
I avoid McDonalds , too many additives and preservatives in their grub . It has serious side effects like becoming an arrogant a*sehole and buying German vehicles . I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Re the history lesson , well mate tell it like you see it . If they don't like what you say, then banned camp is the best place for " Mr Indignant From Surbiton ".
One make club members can be a funny bunch , especially Norton owners ,crikey they are worse than AJS owners , cor blimey don't even get me started on The Vincent Inquisition , ( ha ha , nobody expects the Inquisition ! )
I like all bikes except BMWs , oh and Harleys , ( unless they are old ones ), won't allow a Chinese bike on the premises .
Not that I am opinionated or anything .
    Keep on bulleteering !

It's a good-looking bike. If I were to get a RE (and I probably won't, as I'm used to oversquare high revving engines), it would be one of those old Bullets. The double seat gives it nice proportions. Elegant metal, and curvy.

The problem with those Tarquin types is that Mummy and Daddy never said 'No' to their precious little cherub. 🙂 Totally agree about the car test etc. I reckon two years on a motorcycle followed by 2 years in a car less than 1100cc and then another test for anything bigger.

    • @ruahinesrider
      @ruahinesrider 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Lucky to find cars smaller than 1500cc they are out there but not in numbers they should be.
When I was young there were tons of cars that were 800-1500cc.Mini 850-1275,Austin 1100-1300,Datsun 1200cc,
Toyota Corolla SL Coupe 1200cc,Ford Escorts 1300cc,
Suzuki Alto 800 3cylinder & many many more. These days they're not in the numbers they use to be 1500-1600cc is the most common small cars here in NZ 🇳🇿.

This same thing happened to me ~15 years ago but I was not there. Parked on a normal car parking in front of apartment building and I left my bike alone for at least 4-5 hours. Returned on a moved bike. Not much moved but it does not matter by how much. Over the years noticed the mass attitude if you are on 2 wheels you are half a person to them. According other people.. We are not motorcycle riders if we don't ride over 130 kph /~80 mph/ .. The fun starts there, they say.
p.s. Sorry to hear about the rants..Again .. This people apparently have nothing better to do.
About the different generations of technologies.. They all work as long as they are good quality.. Points work, carbs work.. Distributors work .. Just with the old ones, they need a bit of tinkering and attention from time to time. More younger people are use to the mothern stuff that needs no attention until you have complete failure but then it's expensive and may take time.
Sorry for the long comment, VB

Imagine being so entitled to demand other people's parking places. What a chump, though being at McDonald's nothing would surprise me. I'm not keen on pylons or any overhead electricity. When steam locos were still running under the wires, a few firemen met their maker shovelling coal on the tender. You don't have to touch the cabling, in damp weather it can arc a long way.

Went through my sports bike stage and touring bikes, sports bikes are to quick and touring bikes to heavy for everyday use. So my classic 350 is idea, town work, commuting and rides at the weekend through the country roads. Never like motorways riding. Funny people who think they are entitled.

I live out in the countryside & love going off down side roads fir a tiki tour & a look around.
The roads ain't the best but the views are great & just putt putt along.I like exploring on the bike & just because it's a no exit road doesn't mean yoy shouldn't gi for alook might be something special to find down a no exit.Riding by yourself you can explore when, where & whatever.I've found some real great rides exploring by myself & I don't use Satnav etc sometimes I might look at a map or Google Earth a area at home for a basic look & then head out & usually end up taking a different route but get there still the same.

I never understood why people buy a bike & become that brand or nothing & then sell & buy a new bike & same thing silly really there are tons of great bikes from all different manufacturers.
The article I read about the Trident 750 & RE800 was about Richard Stevens who was a Test Rider at Royal Enfield Enfield Precision at Bradford on Avon in Classic Bike Magazine in 2010 issue 362 which I have along with a few others..HE restores a 750mk 11 & article is about the bike & HIS time as a test rider starting when he was 19yrs old.I also got the 'Royal Enfield A Complete History' by Greg Pullen very informative & was a gift when I was in rehab from a American friend who won a Interceptor Anniversary model so had to sell his blue Interceptor to pay for it.Also has a 350Classic.

What a sad little man that lorry driver was! The only experience I had with a lorry driver was when I was parked in Victorian at a petrol station having a cup of coffee and this Indian lorry driver came over to me and shook my hard because he hadn't seen any iron barrel Bullets in Australia, the as he was driving off gave me a friendly toot on his horn, it was a really nice experience 🙂 Do you like the 350s more than the 500 iron barrels? And one more question, do you reckon it's okay the run fully synthetic oil in an iron barrel? Some say you can and some say you can't, that do you reckon?

    • @Volcanicbrown1878
      @Volcanicbrown1878  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@felixVanDiemen This sad little man was in an Audi car! Yes, I do like the 350's slightly more over the 500's as the motors run very sweet. The only fully synthetic I use is in the 650 Inter everything else I run semi synth, fully synthetic costs a fortune!
