I love most of what you film and on the channel you’re an interesting chap. The caterpillar stuff isn’t boring at all so thanks for doing what you do and sharing it with us.
My sentiments exactly, i will ride until i can't throw my leg over, then i'll buy a three wheeler, motorcycling once it gets in your blood is nearly impossible to leave off of, i ride nearly every day including in winter if rods are clean & temperature is somewhere near reasonable, at 76 yrs young, my bikes are the love of my life. Corny maybe, but when i'm out riding, all troubles just seem to fade into non existence. Thanks for your videos, most enjoyable, ric, ontario canada, i wish these greenies would just p--- off & let us just get on with living our lives in peace.
Back to plague you again! Nice little ride. I was going to take my AJS out this morning but it's not a nice morning here so I watched you instead. Ridiculous ideas about motorbikes have never been in short supply. You need only look at cities like London, Madrid, Birmingham etc to see that we would be better off if more people rode motorbikes instead of driving cars.
Excellent ride and opining! The new house building is bound to be earmarked for the boat people in the same underhanded way that our freedom to own a bike let alone anything is steadily being eroded. Sorry to show pessimism after such a delightful outing 👍👌👏
Agree with your view on this green malarkey, it’s half arsed. The largest nations still pumping out industrial pollutants like there is no tomorrow, more & more aeroplane journeys, so the UK govts decide to hit the domestic drivers & riders. The more ic vehicles they remove from the roads, the demand for petrol decreases to the point of petrol stations closing. Which eventually stops us riding by default. Probably take a number of years, but that’s the plan.
I've got the Green Classic and at age 71 I know an Ironbutt ride would be too nuch for me. If you decide to do it I'd love to see the video. Only if the video isn't 24 hrs also. LOL. 👍👍
Love the 350 classic & enjoy your country ride outs , used to do the same thing just go where my noise was pointing and always came out to a sign that puts me in the right direction ! My best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️💪👍😉😀😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
Love doing what you do, just head off with no destination in mind and take little lanes which goes who knows where. Nice mumble, made a nice start to the day before a marathon cleaning session, front of bike looks like a slaughter house, never seen so many bugs.
Iron Butt on your Classic 350 would be okay and if like me you fitted the Bullet touring seat would be even better !!! Will look at joining MAG but as I am 70 now will be seeing out my days on my Classic 😂 Great mutter as always and glad I helped to get the Dozer video back 😊
G’day VB, nice late afternoon run on the 350.. most of my rides involve just cruising on my RE’s just for enjoyment covering an average 150-300 klms on quieter minor rural roads.. when watching your videos I’m always looking out for old phone boxes you pass.. spotted 2 tonight, well done, nothing like that here.. now spring is here I keep a sharp eye out for snakes warming themselves on the bitumen along the edges of the back roads.. riding season has begun.
Great video so relaxing nice ,to see somebody not desperatly trying to prove something ! Enjoyed the video about your occupation too, i was wondering how long those dozer tracks last untill they have to be replaced and do they need a lot of lubrication/servicing ? Cheers 👍
@aladinfox4098 Thanks! The tracks last for around 7,000 hrs and cost in the region of £18.000 to replace. These are SALT tracks, Sealed And Lubricated Track. a bit like an o ring chain for a bike. They are internally lubricated at assembly with special seals and the lubrication theoretically lasts the life of the track.
I have crash bars on all of my street going motorcycles except for my dirt bikes. I have the old fashioned kind that don't hold up like a piece of tissue paper when they hit a car. I think they are worthwhile addition to anybody's motorcycle. I don't think they should be compulsory though
@alanwilkinson5152 Hi Alan, On the new Enfield's I use E5 as you get better economy out of it. On the older designs, like the old Bullets, I use anything that will burn! E10 is fine for them!
I often head out with no destination in mind and take whatever road looks interesting, I also work on the principle that we live on an island and if you ride too far in any direction you eventually come to the sea
@andrewshields5322 I read somewhere, that no matter where you are in the UK, you can't be any further than 70 miles from the sea. Don't know how true that is!
I agree with you MrB, I'm not going to stop riding either ! This weekend I watched the Goodwood Revival on the live feed on youtube, they claim to have gone Green this year by running all the vehicles that raced on what they called Sustainable fuel which is better for the planet. Now I don't know how much it costs or where you can get it ? Or if indeed its commercially available yet ? But this looks to be one solution, if this becomes available at the pumps the theres no need to ban vehicles with engines !
I think the things you mentioned (end of new petrol bike sales, new speed limit enforcement technology, new build houses and flats) are connected. Former countryside areas are all getting built over around here, with very densely packed new residential developments. So I (have to) ride those roads very differently from how I used to (not even that long ago). New people moving into an area affect everyone's expectations (e.g. first they need schools, then businesses come, then other infrastructure) so what they see isn't detrimental from their perspective, as it's all new and seems to have a "purpose". So then, with higher population levels, you get more traffic, including delivery riders. THAT then influences people, culturally. "Why are petrol bikes necessary, they're loud and polluting!" They see some poor witless fool pottering around delivering kebabs on a moped, and they don't see it as something they aspire to do. They see you coming along and just think you're unnecessary because you don't fit in with their "purpose". They aren't thinking about the good times with bikes because they never had them. Even people who are newly interested in bikes end up having much lower expectations (no longer do they want speed, acceleration, leisure rides, etc.)
I am not going to get party political but politicians and green pressure groups who say we should lead by example make me extremely cross 😡. I’ve driven an electric car once, nothing against the driving experience but I just see cars as a way of getting from A to B. I would never go out in a car for the hell of it like I do on my motorcycle (I appreciate not everybody will feel the same) and the engine is an important part of my motorcycle experience. Would I still ride if there were only electric bikes I cannot say, I hope I am old enough already that I’ll never face that choice. I think the best way for us as a people to retain our freedom is don’t buy electric cars or motorcycles, full stop, then politicians will have no choice but to let us continue to ride and drive whatever vehicles we choose. Petrol (and diesel) prices seem to be quite reasonable now (for the UK), expect that to change at the budget. Fill all your tanks with E5 before 30th October 2024 ! 🇬🇧
I think that they may attempt to force us all to buy electric stuff. Of course, most of us don't want to, so we won't. So instead of trying to force us into electric, they will instead forcibly get us OUT of our ICE vehicles. This could be by huge increases in road tax, or a massive pay per mile fee. Or by banning the sale of spares. Or by doubling the price of fuel. Because unless that happens, most people wont swap. Then when we have no choice, what then? Once the average worker can't afford their next vehicle, we are all screwed. The country will grind to a halt. We can't all cycle to work. And if we can't get to work, everything stops. Then what? Can anyone tell me what happens then, because I really don't know?
@stewy62 Politicians! They are very good at telling us what we can and can't do but when it comes to them. it's a very different matter. Like ULEZ in London, where the Mayor drives around in an armored petrol Range Rover and pays nothing. Now you have got me started!!
Exactly! Anyway, trees love CO2 and it is not even a very effective greenhouse gas. I like exploring the farmland roads in rural Thailand, in similar fashion to your rides👍👍. I use a Beeline to ensure that I am never lost for long.😁😁
@GapBahnDirk If you want to watch an eye opener, search for "Climate the movie" it's on youtube! In fact here is the link .th-cam.com/video/bOAUsvVhgsU/w-d-xo.html It's shocking how we have all been mislead.
Nice exploration of the lanes ,(much the same as I do) those RE singles are probably the perfect bike for that!,regarding MAG,I was a member, but went to join again online,(several times) and I'm probably totally missing something, but you cannot seem to be able to manually input your date of birth, which would make it very time consuming🤔
I can't see petrol not being required for a long time. Imagine an electric version of your earth mover being asked to do an 11 hour shift😂. I think I used to be in MAG when I had bixe before. I'll have a look at them on Google as you suggest. One last thing, your Classic 350 Reborn is ULEZ. Would it be worth you going thru London to get home rather than the chaos of the M25?
@simonchilli2088 Trouble is, that on a Friday night everyone is trying to of out of London! You only have to look at the slip roads joining the M25 from the city and they are gridlocked! It's all a nightmare! Luckily I am done work wise down south!
Hey Dave, I don't think that the future is all doom and gloom as the likes of Stuart Filliingham would have us believe, although it does get him a lot of attention. Having said that we need to be vigilant to preserve our motorcycle freedoms. Australia for example is divided into 6 states and 2 territories. NSW is the oldest state and tends to copy your English legislation such as the MOT system whereby one has to get an inspection every year to renew your rego, however in every other state you can just renew your rego on-line and don't have to get an inspection. So if the UK adopts some draconian EU rules around emissions etc, NSW will probably follow but the other states may not. On the other hand if the legislation is adopted by the federal government it will affect the whole country. Is that confusing enough for you 🤣 But as you allude to, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance so joining an organisation like MAG is a great idea. Cheers, Felix
I have had many cruisers with feet foward and i cant ride that way anymore between my. Neck and my bad back let alone the bad handling under duress with your feet out like a pleased girl it is just asking for trouble.
It might shock you to learn (because it shocked me) that China is actually pretty much leading the world in their push for renewable energy right now. They actually added as much new clean energy generation in the first half of this year as the UK produced from all sources in the same period last year. I mean they need to, because they are the world's biggest emitter of greenhouse gasses. It's still encouraging that they are actually doing somrthing about it now though. As for getting rid of all of our motorbikes.....not going to happen in the short term. It's just alarmist gammons looking to get more views on their channels.
@BulletBeena What is alarming, is the fact that they are actually going to ban the sale of new IC vehicles! The fact it is even on the agenda is scary!
Hi VB , I've been busy.....the perfect machine for those lanes . We simply don't have extensive roads like this , if you double the width it would be similar to typical NZ country-roads .
