Do you think Mikal was serious when he said he has no chance? Hearing him say that was a bit demoralizing, but I'm not entirely sure if I should take that as a serious statement or not.

I'd train on the back roads where its more quiet. No way I'd cycle the course.

Great question. Tradition I suppose. I think we actually got an answer to where its best place. St George, Utah.
But on race day with the helicopter shots it does look amazing. I'd never train there though. I'd train on quiet side of the island tbh.

Tri industry has a lack of icons from the past and iconic moments so it regurgitates Kona footage ad nauseam. Iron War, yawn. That's the problem with keeping the IM product in Kona every year. At least Olympics change venue, golf and tennis have 4 focal points, soccer has 20+ iconic stadia etc etc

I’m concerned Lionel has done all this data analysis regarding the heat impact on his body and is now considering putting an oven on his head during the race? Surely, he should have done at least his race pace sessions with the long tail aero oven, I mean helmet? Maybe he’ll take a leaf out of Taylor Knibb’s book and race with the vented helmet he’s been training in? If not, and he overheats, we won’t know what caused it as he’ll be racing a set up he hasn’t trained in. I thought that was a cardinal rule in triathlon, only race what you’ve practiced? I hope I’m wrong and he wears the long tail and performs incredibly well, it just rang an alarm bell when you filmed it Talbot. Thanks as always for your brilliant race series!

Lactaid is like cortisol level if you want to snapshot you just get a urine cortisol level and send it to the lab if you want the whole movie you get a 24-hour urine sample and then send it to the lab with lactate all you're getting is a quick snapshot of a metabolism that is in flux it only tells you what the level was at the time you took it there's got to be a way to get a 24-hour lactate that would have to be a wearable with a small needle in the subcutaneous tissue that gave a wireless or Ant signal to an app
Why you want a 24 hour?
