    Love how you built this "smartly" from plugging in the CPU cables before adding the rest, to the peeling of the case with the PC off and! the care that was put in. Really nice job man, its like you knew all the hassles of building prior to doing this build. Keep it up!

    Beautiful! quick question though. For cpu contact frames does it matter if the manufacturer says its for 12th gen when it’s LGA1700? I’m assuming it should also be compatible with 14th and 13th gen cpus, right?

    • @averageenthusiast4160

      @notlebby5773 That’s correct. 12th, 13th, and 14th gen are all LGA 1700 so the contact frame for 12th gen also works for 13th and 14th.

      @robrorules9819 Thanks for the comment. If your only building your PC for gaming, I would check some data on the gains you get from using the 14900 vs the 14700. In gaming, it literally provides between 2 and 5 fps boost. I was planning to get the 14900 initially but after researching, I couldn't justify that much extra for 2-5 fps boost. Good luck on your build. You're gonna love it.

      @krislambert6625 Great question! In this case, no. The 14700K has 20 PCIe lanes. So the GPU can use it's full 16 lanes and the NVMe can use the other 4.

      @@averageenthusiast4160 ahhh I see
      It's just that I built a new pc a few months ago and it was my first time installing a nvme and lots of talk about it cutting the GPU to 8x if installed into that too slot so to be on the safe side I installed it in the second slot.
      I have the 13700k so it would of been ok too?

    • @averageenthusiast4160
      @averageenthusiast4160  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 13700K also has 20 PCIe lanes so you would have been fine installing it there. But check your motherboard... on mine, all of my NVMe slots are PCIe Gen 4 with two of them running straight to the CPU and the other two running through the chipset. Just be sure that the one you are using is running straight to the CPU and not through the chipset.

    Theres a deal for these specs on newegg 2200 after tax. I just ordered it but now I'm a bit nervous because for some reason the 14700 version doesn't have an AIO but a cheap 30$ air cooler... Hope it won't throttle, but I am so stoked to play Grayzone Warfare at 100ish fps. They have a Ryzen 7700x version for the same price that does come with the AIO.

    • @averageenthusiast4160
      @averageenthusiast4160  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @dbd6393 That’s a really good price for all of this! Just shows how quickly PC parts come down in price. I would be concerned about a $30 air cooler on any 14th gen processor to be honest. You can always switch it out after you get it if it’s running too hot though. Thanks for the view and comment. If you haven’t already, please consider subscribing. Helps out a ton! Thanks! • @averageenthusiast4160

      @xLaoStyle No. I couldn’t get it to sync with iCue at all even though iCue sees the motherboard and the GPU. iCue has actually been extremely terrible lately. • @averageenthusiast4160
      @averageenthusiast4160  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I went with the 14700K because the difference in gaming, which is mainly what I use this PC for, is literally 2 - 4 FPS but the price difference was much more significant. That said, I'm not having any trouble with the board so far. It's only been about 2 weeks, but it's been rock solid to this point. The case is absolutely beautiful to look at and a breeze to build in. As for temps, while gaming my CPU averages between 60-75and I have yet to see the GPU go over 60. One thing I'll mention as to the RGB on the case PSU cover... there is an internal RGB controller that you can use and control the RGB with the buttons on the case. I wanted to control the RGB with the PC so I could get a matching theme whatever color I was in the mood for. So I connected the 3 pin ARGB connector from the case to an ARGB spot on the MOBO. Since I did this, the controls on the case do nothing which is good with me as I just set the colors in Armory Crate. Thanks for the view and comment. Good luck on your build. You're gonna love it.

    • @averageenthusiast4160
      @averageenthusiast4160  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do believe the contact frame helped. I had a 12900K before this (gave that rig to my son) and it stayed consistently warmer than this. No contact frame on that machine. I have not tried 4 sticks of RAM. Would definitely like to, but mainly for aesthetic purposes. Haven’t had a need for more RAM at this point. MW3 benchmark isn't the best but those are very low AVG FPS for that rig. I have a i7 12700f, 16 gb ddr4, msi ventus oc 4080 super and on competitive (low) 1440p settings I get AVG 260-270 FPS on the benchmark.
    Side note: I have a i7 14700k, mobo, and 32 gb ddr5 ram on the way! I'll bench after I install and report back after I benchmark.

      @UnpaintedOG Hey man. Thanks for the comment. I am a "visuals" guy more so than competitive so I ran the benchmarks on Extreme and Balanced. I just went in and ran the benchmark on low at 1440p and the result was 396 fps. After you get your new gear, let me know how your tests go. I'd be interested to know. Thanks again!

      @mashrifgaming2351 Total cost would be anywhere from $2,600 - $3,000 depending on any sales you might find. I don’t play Valorant, but I’ve run tests in other builds I’ve done to sell and based on the FPS I would get in those cheaper builds, I would have to think this would get well over 700 in max settings. Valorant is not a very resource hungry game.

      @Unk9095 I don't use the PC only for gaming. I do music production and photo/video editing as well. Ryzen platform is phenomenal value for gaming... but when doing other things such as photo/video editing etc, Intel always performs better. When gaming, my bottleneck in all games that I've played so far, is 100% GPU. This is what you want. You don't want the CPU bottlenecking so you can't use 100% of your GPU. For what I use the PC for, these two pair perfectly.
