Guys I enjoyed this one and LOVED the new 6500X case - I would love to hear your thoughts! Anyone else picked this up? dont forget to like and subscribe (Watch till the end and see Raf's reaction)
I noticed you don't have an ESD strap :O any reason for that? got a pair of esd gloves for 8$ they seem worth it when building pcs! (illl edit comment after watching video for actual commenting lol)
Hi pal you don't need one unless your building on a carpet - hardware nowadays are really static resistant and takes way more than static created to ruin a component.
even though I know how to build a pc, I watched this whole video because I loved the parts that were used, but this is a great beginner video, you were slow and thorough and that's always appreciated!
Great job with this video! I recently purchased this case for my son to build his 1st gaming pc. We used your video to help us through most of the build. I did purchase a few things that were different, so I had to search other videos to compare things like the Z790 Dark Hero, the HX1500i PSU, and the ROG Strix 4090. Overall, it was your video that helped us cross the finish line. THANK YOU!!!!
Watched probably 10 videos and every one of skipped over the cable connections - which is arguable the only true hard part and certainly the most difficult to find piece of information. Thank you for being the exception! I do wish you would have shown the connections for the RGB though.
I’m looking at building a custom pc for the first time but trying to work out what parts to get is really daunting. The build you have done here looks amazing and has helped me out.
@Codzfish so 1st choice is a mobo and you have 2 options: 1 - x670 or x670e 2 - B650 or B560e Just depends on your budget and needs - all would be fine. It primarily concentrates on how many pcie 5.0 m.2 slots you would have and power for overclocking and connectivity. Personally if your going for a gaming system and having no more than 2 m.2/nvmes - save some cash get a nice b650. Next up is RAM - Ideally looking at 32gb @ 6000mhz c30 (The C is CAS latency) you can go higher but best option 2 x 16gb 6000 c30 and ensure it's amd expo ram. THEN onto cooling - 7800x3d is not too bad but a nice 360mm AIO is great and lots of options out there. You got some cheaper ones like arctics liquid freezer iii at £100 or montech hyperflow at £79.00 and then more expensive like lian li/corsair and nzxt that offer lcd screens etc £250 PSU - Always go with a good brand and min gold rated, I personally like corsair, seasonic, Msi as good warranty. Also your looking at atx 3.0 and pcie gen 5 connections too. With what your putting in here a 850w is enough but 1000w could be a good option for upgrades as these last a long time. Hope that helps to begin with. 👍
Very similar to mine. Case is stunning but she's a chonky beast! I wouldn't be able to fit it on my desk but if space wasn't a concern, I'd 100% have one, especially since you can get those gorgeous wood panels. Great build as always mate!
It's such a nice system if you get the AIO and fans - corsair just released the RX120 fans too which are also lcue link too - good case choice and good luck mate - I really appreciate you watching and taking time to comment 👍
You shoud put the AIO on the side. I have the same case and AIO. I had 35c idle, 47c gaming with it at the top. After swithing to push/pull on the side, it dropped to 30c idle, 37c gaming. Big difference. If you have it at the top, the hot air from the GPU will be used to "cool" the radiator.
Push pull makes a huge difference mate and yes intake on side especially PP will yield better temps but I personally prefer it at the top 😉 each to their own though mate 👍
Thank you so much! I finally understand how to connect all the fans with 1x hub. In other Videos they only connect 1 aio and 1 set of 3 fans. Got all the parts yesterday for my new setup and today im installing all the qx120 fans 💪🏼
Another great video mate, dropped a like and comment as always to help with the algorithm lol, hope your having a great bank holiday. Keep them coming pal 👍
Do you need to replace the already provided thermal paste on the Corsair CPU cooler? I'm trying to decide whether what they've provided is enough to not let my 14700k burn lmao.
About to move my current build into this case with the Link system but in black. So, thank you for the guide as I am going to do 10 fans also. But, I noticed in the video that you said the short cable is 60mm. However, here in the US, it is shown as 135mm. Difference because of different countries?
Hello! Thank you for the video! I have a question to the USB 2.0 ports. You need 1 internal USB-2 port for the Front-Panel, 1 internal USB-2 port for the LCD-screen from the AIO and 1 internal USB-2 Port for the iCUE-Link HUB- How did you do that? You only have (and my motherboard also) 2 internal USB-2 ports? Thank you for the answer!
@@TechCheckUK amazing thanks mate. I’m a console player and building my first gaming pc. Only other think I’m think of changing is from an intel to a 7600x I think it was.
Just a quick question, I haven't seen all your videos, only a few (I just discovered your channel :)). But I haven't yet seen you use these Thermalright's Bracket for 12th and 13th generation Intel CPUs that have a big problem cause of an intense socket pressure on the motherboard. Is there any reason for this, or is there no point in using it? (Legend has it that you can recover an average of 10 degrees Celsius). In any case, your videos are so enjoyable, qualitative and educational! Thank you so much. PS : the 6500X case looks incredible !
Good afternoon and thank you for watching some of the videos - greatly appreciated Truth be told using the contact frame is best practice as a high % of the IHS are not level and cause temp fluctuations and using a frame helps make better contact and lower temps. You don't see in the videos but I open the boxes and check the hardware day before and check all the hardware for issues and one of the checks Is the cpu and if it's Concave or needs a contact bracket I have a few spare ones. They are about £8 so relatively inexpensive and if not sure it's best to use one hope that helps and really appreciate the support 👍
@DRmajoma yeah coming out of rad I guess you mean. I got used to mine I just love how clean it looks at the back now lol compared to before. Appreciate you watching 👀 🙏
I bought this case and am currently collecting parts for my new build. Can you let me know if a push-pull conversion is possible for the radiator using icue? (So I want to use 3-130mm intake, place the radiator on top of those which obviously comes with 3 more 130mm fans…., then 2-140mm fans on the bottom intake, 3-130mm fans on top exhaust and one more 130mm on rear exhaust) Will it fit in the case AND are there enough plug-ins on the icue hub for all that?
This is the best option yes and most optimal. Side intake push pull and intake at bottom and exhaust top and rear - yes all cam be done if wired correctly. U don't want more than 7 devices on one input though.
@@TechCheckUK my only issue with that case is for its size it can’t fit 3 140s like all it’s competitors. But that case does back connect which now gigabyte is getting into so choices.
Yeah I know what u mean with regards to the 140s but as u said its B2F compatible also so at least it's slightly future proof. Appreciate the support and good luck 👍
I'm buying the parts to build this now, but I'm switching out the fans for Lian Li SL-Infinity, CPU Cooler for the Lian Li Galahand II and the CPU for Intel Core i7-12700KF. I know that's a downgrade from the i7-14700K but how much of a difference? I'm specifically using this for gaming.
12700kf to 14700 is about 15% slower mate that's all but you will save 150 dollars doing so and won't be life changing in game - good luck on the build 👍 thanks 4 watching
It's a beaut, but can't help think with the price for all the parts, he should of gone for a 4080super or at the very least the 4070ti super with 16gb vram in that build. but really a 4080super. Side note having a 5000x case and a 011d evo, i prefer the 5000x, just for the slimness so it takes up less space on the desk. my 011d evo sits on the floor atm(tile not carpet), but then don't really get to look at it, so why did i bother with all the nice looking sl infinity fans and strimmer cable :))
I think the primary reason was he was gaming at 1440p and he didn't need more - personally I'm like you a 4070ti super would have given more head room and a little more performance as the 16gb is more future proof. Mate I love all 3 of the cases you mentioned and also agree it's a wide boy the 6500x and I would always prefer it on the desk than the floor. Things we do lol 😆 thanks for watching and taking time to share opinion 👍
aww man i loved both - personally i like the h6/h7/h9 flow better as its easier to build in and seems better quality - 6500X /3500X are more around B2F mobos and thats not for me BUT still great cases
So I bought Corsair Hydro Series iCUE Link H100i RGB , I connected my 2x140 fans separately to the black box on the back and 1 back fan 120 to the radiator then separate box on the back. In my instruction said I don’t need to connect usb from radiator to , as long usb from back is connected to motherboard. However I have error message that cpu fan missing when I start pc. All fans are working and I connected everything the same way, you did. The only thing I did not connect was usb from radiator to usb as I don’t have extra cable for it in my kit. Also in my bios it do not show CPU fan only the pump and other fan, so only 2. which I assume pump is my 2x cpu fans on radiator and 1 back fan and other fan are my 2x140 in front. Any solutions ?
Hi buddy 1st off you need to unsure the 3 pin is connected from the icue box to cpu header on mobo OR if you don't want to do that u need to disable cpu fan warning in bios. You need to make sure it's connected to pump header this just means it's running 100% all the time I don't like this tbf as I like the warning. U don't need to connect the usbc from radiator to usb BUT you can't control the lcd screen - if you don't have enough usb2 headers corsair provides a splitter cable. Hope that helps 👍
For the life of me i cant imagine why anyone would want an EXHAUST filter doing nothing but looking pretty and BLOCKING air flow. This is one big gripe i have with many of the corsair cases....even if i do own about 8 of them.
yes it runs pcie gen 4 x8 instead of pcie gen 4 x16 the difference is not crazy although i have made sure to run my 4090 at gen 4 x16 it looks to be similar performance to running gen 3 x16 if you don't put the m.2 in a lower slot its not something most people would even notice but the same can be said about running a gen 4 m.2 vs a gen 5 m.2. i had a gen 3 m.2 and it still ran my gpu in x8 so imo regardless of the gen m.2 i would put it in a lower slot you can still achieve gen 4 speeds on almost every board in the lower slots with 14 gen intel in his case he is not using gen 5 anyway he should have done this i don't believe there is an option to have an m.2 in that slot without lowering the speed of gpu due to the number of cpu pcie lanes even forcing the m.2 to run a lower gen it still will run gen 4 x8 for the gpu
@@Sniperkill616 majority of the motherboards slow down the gpu speed if a gen 4 m.2 ssd is put in the gen 5 slot up top. I have seen a couple of youtubers put their gen 4 m.2 in the top slot wondering if they even read the motherboard manual. I saw a rare video of someone mentioning to not put it on the top slot due to the gpu running slower. People have said that some motherboards won't affect gpu speed according to the manual. Idk which motherboards specifically, but yeah I would put the gen 4 m.2 ssd in the lower slots
Hi mate if you use a gen 5 drive YES it will change your pcie x16 slot to a x8 slot as the top slot shares pcie lanes - this is more to do with the cpu as only has 16 pcies lanes. Even a 4090 at pcie gen 4 x 8 it's still runs perfect. If you want to avoid this place 2 gen 4 nvmes in slots 2 and 3 as these are connected to chipset and not cpu so you get the pcie x16 slot running at gen 5 x16 and both nvmes at gen 4 x4 speeds.
Would it be possible to attach the bottom fans from the other end out through the side and then through the bottom grommet to the connector on the side fans using the other long cable?
I did have my bottom and side fans connected with the respective connectors closest to each other. But then the Corsair logo on the side fans were upside-down. So I flipped the side fans and now the connector is kind of stretched. So I had the thought of going the other way. But opening up the side panel and routing through the power cables and all the connections. It's a chore. But my ocd won't just let it be.
I reply to EVERY comment mate - yes I do it free of charge from the start to finish as long as either you provide the parts or you provide a deposit and I'll get everything and balance cleared once collected. Regards and thanks 4 watching 👀 😀
Dude - you should never open the cover of the CPU socket before you have the CPU in hand and ready to install it. You could easily drop something on those precious pins my friend.
H150i isn’t the best for the newer intel cpus the waterblock gets hot to the touch and the air out of the rads hot to and temps seem to hover around 80c in vr perhaps the h170i 420mm is better I’m using the i9 13900k and h150i I’m not impressed with the h150i lcd link
Have you tried using the contact bracket? Maybe better paste etc! This idles at 33c and in cinebench r23 max temp after 10 mins 74c so not bad at all - things is that we would all like system to be running cool but cpus can run now in 80s absolutely fine. Appreciate you sharing 🙏
@TechCheckUK I don't trust myself installing a contact frame lol but the h150i waterblock Is hot to the touch from those temps lol not sure if that's good lol but would a 420mm aio be better in my case ? @TechCheckUK
A 420 would outperform a 360 I'd u have room and give you more cooling potential as larger radiator and 140mm fans so could also be ran quieter too. I would personally ensure correct mounting and pressure and look at a decent thermal paste before I invested in a different larger AIO. thanks
Have a look when purchasing motherboards - what connections do they have ideally you just need usb c and usb 3. All latest cases and mobos support this.
Ohhh dam it's not for.everyone mate I understand and that's the beauty of being able to customise your own - appreciate your opinion, and thanks 4 watching 👍
Only reason mate is so that if you have an issue with the dedicated graphics card with a K chip they have intergrates graphics and the KF don't BUT the KF model can still be overclocked and is slightly cheaper.

Corsair needs to release a version with reverse blades.
I agree mate 👍
Do you think this is better than the nzxt h6 flow?
aww man i loved both - personally i like the h6/h7/h9 flow better as its easier to build in and seems better quality - 6500X /3500X are more around B2F mobos and thats not for me BUT still great cases
I have a question, I’d like to buy this case but I’m unsure which ATX it supports. Does it support ATX or Micro ATX motherboards?
Yes it supports all from m itx to matx and Eatx so all of them - you don't wanna go smaller than ATX though as it will look lost
Did u remove the thermal pad for the ssd (below the ssd I saw another thermal pad)?? 3:56
@@HerobrineDuo yes I also removed the film from the heatsink and the pad below
For the life of me i cant imagine why anyone would want an EXHAUST filter doing nothing but looking pretty and BLOCKING air flow. This is one big gripe i have with many of the corsair cases....even if i do own about 8 of them.
It'd just corsair and their designs mate I'm tge same tbh but it prob has 10% impact interms of resistance to air escaping
Just like Lian li 011D 😄😄😄
Vwey simular pal but only so much you can do with a dual chamber case imo
Cool ! Could you please advise mono for 14600k?
Mono?
If you put a gen 4 m.2 ssd in the gen 5 slot, doesn't it slow down your gpu speed?
yes it runs pcie gen 4 x8 instead of pcie gen 4 x16 the difference is not crazy although i have made sure to run my 4090 at gen 4 x16 it looks to be similar performance to running gen 3 x16 if you don't put the m.2 in a lower slot its not something most people would even notice but the same can be said about running a gen 4 m.2 vs a gen 5 m.2. i had a gen 3 m.2 and it still ran my gpu in x8 so imo regardless of the gen m.2 i would put it in a lower slot you can still achieve gen 4 speeds on almost every board in the lower slots with 14 gen intel in his case he is not using gen 5 anyway he should have done this i don't believe there is an option to have an m.2 in that slot without lowering the speed of gpu due to the number of cpu pcie lanes even forcing the m.2 to run a lower gen it still will run gen 4 x8 for the gpu
Nicely explained 👌
Yep I read the manual and aware but hopefully I explained in previous comment - 4070ti at gen 4 x8 is more than enough
Would it be possible to attach the bottom fans from the other end out through the side and then through the bottom grommet to the connector on the side fans using the other long cable?
Yeah you could mate I didn't or have never tried it that way but great suggestion 👍 👌
Nice as long as you don't mind putting in the effort mate and your happy that's all that matters 👍
Nice job . Kinda tired 😫 seeing these white builds.
Don't worry some black builds coming I promise 🙏- appreciate the feedback 👍
what do you use to clean the old thermal paste off?
Isopropyl alcohol mate 👌 👍
@@TechCheckUK thanks 🙏
@@Jb19738 no worries 👍
Do you still reply to comments? I wanna get a pc but wanted to get a pre built but can’t find any I like? Do you build pcs for people?
I reply to EVERY comment mate - yes I do it free of charge from the start to finish as long as either you provide the parts or you provide a deposit and I'll get everything and balance cleared once collected. Regards and thanks 4 watching 👀 😀
@@TechCheckUK wow awesome! How do I get into contact with you? DC?

I just bought a MO:X670E hero, it come with wifi things, how I can connect it to the motherboard?
Just take you antennas and screw into back of IO on the motherboard mate - great choice BTW 👍
@@TechCheckUK thanks bro, you save my day!!
@m4_byb269 no worries mate 👍
Dude - you should never open the cover of the CPU socket before you have the CPU in hand and ready to install it. You could easily drop something on those precious pins my friend.
Thanks 4 watching 👀
can i use the slim 4070 super instead?
Absolutely mate no problem to use that card 👍
what cabel is for the grafik kard ? is it the double?
It's the 12+4 pin high wattage power cable - comes with the corsair psu - ATX 3.0 PCIE Gen 5
@@TechCheckUK Thank you
No problem 😊
I would personally ensure correct mounting and pressure and look at a decent thermal paste before I invested in a different larger AIO. thanks
@@TechCheckUKI have that same CPU & AIO But I am getting throttled in CB even on stock cpu settings .
I wouldcheck your contact to cpu mate as I have no problem with 7950x3d
I have the same box, but it comes with two USB connectors, so, how can i know who motherboards have it??
Have a look when purchasing motherboards - what connections do they have ideally you just need usb c and usb 3. All latest cases and mobos support this.
@@TechCheckUK yes, but if the case have two exits usb 3.2... and all the motherboards that i saw, have only one
U going intel or amd?

How do i istall the ram sticks? Do i push all 4 at the same time and if it clicks is it broken?
I'd advise you to put one by one because it is easier that way and the click mean it is insert correctly, you just need to push it slowly not to hard
I'm sure that's what my wife said lol

@@TechCheckUK But the rest of the pc mate is absolutely insane ! I have a question why are you using the 14700k instade of the 14700kf ?
Only reason mate is so that if you have an issue with the dedicated graphics card with a K chip they have intergrates graphics and the KF don't BUT the KF model can still be overclocked and is slightly cheaper.
How much is it
Hi mate if was around 2.6k in UK
