Mini RC submarine review: The new 777 sub version made by Happy cow. (also sold by Carson)

  • The very popular and very cheap triple 7 radio remote controlled submarine, by Happy cow, got an update. So got it better or worse? Find out in this in depth test of this "RTR 6 CH (channel) three propellor" micro RC sub.
    In this review I'll discuss battery life, transmitter range and more.
    Maximum depth is 0.8 m acoording to the manual. (In reality 0.5m. (20"))
    WARNING! this 777 RC model , also called "torpedo pigboat, is not waterproof at depths over 50 cm (20") although it has silicone rings to keep the water out. If your boat behaves odd when still in range or sinks, quickly get it out of the swimming pool or pond and leave it to dry. Even better is to remove the small screws so that you can remove the top and bottom part. After that you can give the nose of the submarine a twist and carefully take it off so that water can get out. Be careful not to break the wires!
    Check my other mini RC submarines and toy boat videos on my channel!

      Still thinking about building a bit larger pond than the tiny waterfall water feature we have. Instead of a large pond I want to run a stream from the back of the garden to the pond. Maybe a project for next year.

    Hi there, nice video. Quick question, so when you press left or right, does tinge direction changes with a rudder or do the individual propeller spin to create a directional change ? I need to take one apart for a project. Thanks

    How long does this submarine last with its built in battery? recently almost no rc submarine being sold but this type written 8minute operating time really that short?

    • @PaulMTheDenyingDutchman

      There seem to be no fun subs for sale anymore no. a shame really. Batterylife is indeed quite short.

      The only toy submarines I saw with cameras were not worth the money. I'm afraid the only option is to spend quite a lot of money on a model RC submarine with room for a camera.

      Fortunately you can open it and let it dry. if I remember correctly you have to twist the front to get it off, after you removed the screws of course.

    • @PaulMTheDenyingDutchman
      @PaulMTheDenyingDutchman  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like the charger is malfunctioning or your battery is bad. Or it could be an electronic issue inside the submarine. Whatever it may be I would return it, if you can't you can open the sub and measure the battery voltage after charging. It should read somewhere close to 4.2 volt.

    • @PaulMTheDenyingDutchman
      @PaulMTheDenyingDutchman  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was an easy "fix". ; ) Have fun with your sub and don't dive to deep it's only water tight up to about 50 cm (20 inch). (If you do get water into the sub: remove the screws holding the top and bottom part and give the front of the sub a gentle twist so that you can take it off and let the sub dry.)

      About 10 to 15 dollar. Note that they do leak at depths over about 50cm (+- 20"). Nothing that can't be fixed and you can take the sub apart to let the water out, but it's something to consider when buying one.
