You know you're a talented artist when you can immortalize mundane subjects and make them fascinating to the point that everyone wants to paint or draw it. Especially when they had no desire to use ot as an art subject prior to seeing your work. Well done, sir! You could paint a bloody phonebook and we'll be trying to paint & draw phone books 😂😂😂 Like Banksy & his phone booths.
😁😁😁 I genuinely think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my art. I going to get that on a t-shirt, on my CV and then carve it on my gravestone 🤣🤣. Thanks for making my day . 🙏🙏
I'm glad you mentioned using grey ink in the background because I have some and didn't know what I'd ever use it for. :) Thought I'd gone and wasted my money.
Very enjoyable content. Recently found you as I searched on “urban sketching”. I do appreciate your style and how you share great knowledge and experiences. Olle
Your 'style' seems to be very different when sketching boats to other subjects. Your boat sketches appear much more detailed and tighter. Would you agree, Doug and is it a conscious decision? Interesting 🤔 I know you have a passion for boats but I really do like your landscapes (I'm a neighbour, so somewhat biased) 😀 'Sanatical Gardens', 😂😂 bless
Howdy Neighbour 😀😀 intreasting point. I guess I'm definitely into boats so like all e little bits where as with landscapes I'm generally simplifying. Great observation though... I'd never even thought of that 😆
Love the diversity of your drawings and color choices! Details of the ropes are amazing. Thanks for sharing:)
Thank you so much 😀
I really like the sketches when you stay with only one or two colors. All the sketches are great!
Thank you so much! Yes I love simple colours too. It makes the sketches look sort of effortless
