This tracked tractor is keeping up with two JOHN DEERE S780 Combines equipped with 12 row corn heads. In order to keep the combines rolling non stop through the corn harvest the JOHN DEERE 8RX 370 Tractorr is operating an 1,300 bu. KINZE 1300 grain cart to move the corn away from the combines and to waiting semi trucks.

    6:30 that sensitivity problem is not so bad on fixed frame but on articulated tractors it throws you around the cab.
    8:00 that there is why solid axle is still king of off road. the IFS system tries to keep the wheels parallel to the vehicle and not the ground the duels really shows this in action the right one is up in the air where as the left one is being loaded much more than normal.

    Wow 😲! What a ride a long! Looks a little dry there? Here in western Wisconsin they are talking FROST!! Must be fall? Thanks for video. Being retired from farming I really really miss harvest. The long long days,the stress of breakdowns,and the fight with weather. Hey weight, that sounds like work!! Still miss it. This helps,a little.

    Totally AWESOME video Jason. We have used only tracks for our harvesting for the last 10 years. Our combines, tractors and grain carts all on tracks. Big advantage of getting in our fields early & staying later in them plus helps compaction. Our window for harvesting can be pretty small here in northeast Ohio. Enjoy ALL your videos BTP!!💪💪

    Hard to match the movement of the combine and tractor when the combine is always moving around to stay in line with the rows of corn. Seeing as a row is not one hundred percent straight, it is close but, now perfect. Along with the contour of the ground changes. I would still say it is doing a good job at matching the speed and movement of the combine.

    Stupid question but I'm trying to learn. Why does everyone regardless if whether it's a combine with an implement or a tractor dragging an implement, raise the implement when they reach the headlands to turn around. It's ubiquitous. Everyone does it. I don't understand why. Seeding yes for the cost of the seeds but otherwise?

    Disagree on the front suspension. You have a solid axle on tracks verses the independent front axel on the wheeled tractor. Plus the tracks are spread wider then the wheels. Of course tracks are smoother in the field but dang sure not down the road.

    Farm hands today don't know their born, I used to drive an old Massey fergusson 65 pulling a Massey fergusson trailer ,working with a Massey Fergusson 780 special with a 6ft cut ,took forever and a day just to cut 20 acres that's if the combine didn't block up,while the neighbouring farmer had a Clayson with a 16ft cut, I feel so hard done by, winter time I use to hug the exhaust to get warm to the point where it use to burn my coat, don't believe anybody when they say the good old day's. Would love to see Titan LSW tires pitted against the tracks. I think the LSW tires would be the all-around winner. Have tests such as,.....ride quality in the field and out on the road, which can go faster? Traction. Fuel consumption. Costs, initial and replacement. Again,.....I think the LSW tires would be the all-around winner, using the same type/model and model year tractors. Pit John Deere against John Deere, Case IH against Case IH, Challenger against Challenger, Versatile against Versatile, New Holland against New Holland, Fendt against Fendt. See what you can come up with Jason. Let's see what kind of pull you have. (Ha!Ha!) You can also get LSW tires for combines.

      i dont think JD allows for mixing of track sizes we at least from factory but they do look the same size and it is a row crop operation so track / tire width and spacing has to be the same all round.

    • @armchairgeneral7557
      @armchairgeneral7557 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Phalanx380 actually, the tracks come in 18” and 24” tracks for up front and 18”, 24” and 30” tracks in the rear. So you can have 24” front tracks with 24” or 30” rear tracks. It looks like they are running 24” for both front and rear tracks. Would make a great setup for 30” space planter and grain cart duty.
