    Nice overall upgrade from Xperia 5 and Xperia 5II. But I do think those with Xperia 5II don't really need the upgrade unless it's for the 4K 120fps on all lenses. Xperia 5II is still a beast in its own right, and pretty hard to get in the used market.

    Great comparison. Imagine would be similar for 1ii vs 1iv. I have the 1ii and am still loving it actually. Only thing I dislike is can't seemlessly change lenses when filming. But other than that, pretty solid and I actually reckon Andriod 12 update and other updates over time have improved the cameras even more! Imagine similar for 5ii.

    Thank you for the comparison video. I was afraid that the zoom of the 5 IV would feel like a step back coming from 5 II but now I see that although the reach is lower, it makes it up with higher sharpness and better hdr. Sharpness was definitely an issue with some manual shots with 5 II so I'm happy to see it enhanced.

    I am so glad with my Xperia 5 IV, it`s so obvious wich is the better one bcz is new also. Just try to fine tune it with a good launcher and some swiping options so I can get it like the Iphone except with an more open Operating system as Android. Now need to learn how to make good pictures bcz for me making pictures was just open the cam app and take a picture this is more professional and you have to know how you take pictures with it if you wanna get technical and professional....

    Any tips for avoiding blurry photos? I have the 5 II and most pictures I take of my kids ( who aren't always still) come out blurry. An arm, or a hand, or a face will be blurry. Its very frustrating because the camera otherwise is great. My wifes pixel 6 pro is point and shoot and no blurry photos hardly ever even if the kids are running.

      My advice would be to keep your 5 II, at least up to the next Xperia announcement of 2023. Some very interesting rumors have been going around about their new model, including a potentially improved 70-200mm true optical zoom telephoto lens that may or may not end up on the 5 V.
      If you're looking for an upgrade I think the 5 III would be a better choice depending on what you're doing. It has that 80-105mm telephoto lens which is very handy to have and you can find it for a fraction of its original price now. With it you're also getting an improvement in dynamic range, which is one of the big things Xperias need more of in my opinion.
      The 5 IV's biggest upgrade over your current phone would be the 12mp Sony selfie camera and the 4k 120fps recording on all lenses but it does have a less-reaching telephoto camera.

    Should have kept 70mm in the iv i think. Just that little bit better for soon shots etc. Why would you think they made it 60mm? Is it easier for portraits with bokeh or?
    And my 5ii died 😭 at least... I washed it (with cold water, maybe he didnt like that too) and moist in the port i think while i used charger later 😭 now the screen doesnt work anymore. While the phone for the rest looks normal. The phone starts, all buttons work software seems normal but 0 screen responsiveness. I wanted to buy a sony phone again or fix the 5ii but it would be so expensive so now i bought the pixel 6a because it was also discounter but im kinda disappointed in Google. I expected more. So i will probably go back to Sony later this year and give the 6a to my mom. Might fix the 5ii it its cheap and it not i think ill buy a 5 series again but not a new one. Probably older model (newer than the 5ii) but when its discounter. But i dont know yet for sure.
    Its learning lesson also, waterproof phones are not waterproof and i have to change my cleaning routine (btw it did work for almost 2 years haha)

    It is more important to compare mk3 and mk4. It is known that in mk4 we have telephoto downgrade. Smaller sensor (1/3.5'' vs 1/2.9") and 60mm focal length vs 70-105mm zoom. For me, this is a huge step backwards.

  • @residentCJ

    Very interesting comp 👍 Hard to recommend the additional 500€ of a 5iv over a used 5ii just for the cams.
    But still hard to imagine what makes the difference between these two 🤔 Lens Quality could be a factor.
    But just for testing, i would have downgraded the Firmware of 5ii to the version it was initially sold with. From time to time Manufacturers "optimize" the firmware as newer models came out and have to be sold 🤪
    But the diference isnt big, and the OIS seems to be clearly improved. Could also be worn out but hwo knows ^^

    Nice comparison proving my fears about both of them - photo quality is rather passable then very good or great. And it's not good at all considering the price of these devices and Sony Alpha / Zeiss marketing tricks. In other words, nothing amazing if you're after great photos and videos. Disappointing.

    • @lltechview
      @lltechview  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say that. The quality is not extraordinary but on par with other flagships. If you want more punchy colours and less darken shadows its just two sliders away and you get the same output as on a Huawei P50 Pro, Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy minis the oversharpening and overdoing it with colours

    • @victorrumyantsev3718
      @victorrumyantsev3718 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lltechview The problem is that other flagships a way more available and many of them are significantly cheaper. Just take Pixel 6 Pro. It's at least twice cheaper than Xperia 5 IV and wins in photo and video departments most of the time without much oversharpening. Another example is old good Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I rediscovered it for myself recently and was shocked how good it is especially with AI switched off. It easily beats Xperia 1 II most of the time. I compared both phones side by side.

    • @lltechview
      @lltechview  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victorrumyantsev3718 That might be for photos. Videos 4k 120fps however and seamless zoom is better on the Sony. Especially the colours when switching.
      But yeah we could debate that not enough has changed from the Mark 2 to the Mark 4 and I would agree.
      The Mate 20 Pro is still a great device but I am not sure it can beat the 5 IV

    • @victorrumyantsev3718
      @victorrumyantsev3718 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lltechview Yes, I was talking about photos, not videos. I'm not really interested in taking videos - consider it a nice addition to photo camera, nothing more. From what I saw coming out from Mate 20 Pro, it certainly can beat Xperia 5 IV and III in few scenarios and occasions, especially in macro and night mode. And again, color reproduction on it with AI switched off is very natural, performance - surprisingly smooth, price - $250 against $1000.
