- Every day for months, people who live in NYCHA's East River Houses say trucks park outside to collect recyclables, but the collectors leave bags of bottles and cans piled on the sidewalk. CBS New York's Lisa Rozner reports.

We had the cold winters keeping that from happening here but with global warming the winters have been warmer every year. I think it snowed like 1 time this winter. Maybe 2 times. Very little compared to a normal NYC winter and eventually thats going to lead to a water shortage too.

There is not an asylum seeker in America....allow me to explain, By international law any "asylum seeker" has to go to first country not involved in conflict...WHICH MEANS BY INTERNATIONAL LAW IF MEXICO OR CANADA ISNT AT WAR WE DONT HAVE A SINGLE ASYLUM SEEKER...
The real question: who’s paying them to collect the cans 24/7 and who owns the trucks. It’s the same as every other problem that has become noticeably worse in the past 4-5 years…there’s ALWAYS some larger entities funding these things. It’s all by design and it’s all on purpose.

Nope. Republicans on congress refuse to allow them to receive work permits. They could be self sufficient and it would add billions to the local and national economy. We have a massive shortage of low skilled workers w/ the nation having lowest unemployment since 1969. Also it’s been over 3 years now that republican governors have been busing asylum seekers from their border states to NY and other Democrat cities and NY state tax payers already send millions of dollars annually to help w/ immigration flow. Where in those states they have detention centers and programs already built, staffed ready to assist these ppl. The republicans have deliberately made this a man made crisis. There’s no reason why these ppl should be barred from working while they go thru the Asylum process.
How about we try to help 𝑜𝑢𝑟 homeless citizens before giving assistance to criminals who sneak into our country illegally? 🤔
