Nice pub like all of these bush pubs. We were out there in August and visited the Toompine pub, the Noccundra pub, the Nindigully pub (really good) and the Innamincka hotel in SA. We enjoyed every day out there and are now planning our Flinders Ranges trip.
🤣 the things you carry have to have multiple uses. The cover goes on to not scratch other things (and fingers), rather than protecting the blade. 😂. I guess, he knows more about his tools than me anyway. :D (PS the rocks are covered in soft sandstone more than hard stuff).
Having been c.vanners for a long time, we gave it up, and went back to a hardfloor campertrailer, something we always wanted to do again. We still have it and we still use it but mainly for local trips. We went further into the dark ages again, by buying an Adventure Motorcycle , I am a returning rider at 65yo, so wanted to get real remote , and do it as cheaply as possible. The only thing we miss about the not having the campertrailer is a fridge. We both sleep on self inflating mattresses and we both are loving it. My wife was the one who suggested we go back to motorcycling, I was always hoping to but was not sure she would get onboard, I have subbed your channel, as you go to the places we want to go to again. When I say remote, we have a range of 800km with 2 X 6 lt jerry cans strapped on the front racks, The bikes' tank is 15lt., so long as their is fuel in the area within 700km we can get pretty remote.
Wow, that sounds exciting. Simon used to drive and love motorbikes. I am not really a fan, I prefer 4 wheels over 2, and rather jump on a horse then a motorbike. I totally get it, feeling to be much more connected to the environment when not having a chassis around you. For the sleeping arrangements: good on you. :D And wow. Again, my favourite comfort is having a comfortable bed and a toilet with me. Please don't judge :D In saying that, we also loved tent camping. Are you going to share some of your rides on TH-cam? We sometimes watch TH-cam channels from bikers travelling around and through Australia. It's amazing, what you see what others don't see, including us. The roughness is addictive. Thanks for commenting and following us (Y)
We were there yesterday, also intending to stay overnight but the area was too wet and muddy. We did enjoy the pub though, and funny thing we were looking at that same book and decided to purchase it and tick them off. Great idea!! and great video, thanks.
Let the chase begin. Once you started it you will always look around for pubs in your area that might be in the book. Being Toompine, not sure where you're heading, but there is a pub in Noccundra (we ticked that, upcoming), another one is Eromanga, and some more in that further west QLD area. Too wet? Wow. We breath dust here up in the NT. So much so that it wont take long for Simon to probably jump onto the water truck to help the station owner watering the roads ;-)
Don't miss the happy hour history lesson from Greg at the free camp, happens in the late afternoon every day (as far as I am aware)! He's a legend :D Also grab your camera with the long lens. There are some falcons nesting in the tower on the nearby paddock, and cute Major Mitchell cockatoos just near camp.
Bloody good pub .

Oh Simon I didn't know whether to cry or laugh...using an axe to break rocks, then putting a cover on it😱 Lovely video again my friends🙏
