Truth told, there's a little GPA adjacent to that WPA, & the bunch of roosters actually flushed on the GPA. The next day, Sunday, we approached from the other direction, hunted the edge of the pond that we didn't even get to Saturday, & shot another fairly easy limit. Ace DID want to hunt more, each day. I told him he got to hunt a little 3 days in a row, so he should be good, but it didn't seem to make it better for him. He's a little spoiled like that.
Nice video,my grandpa gave them the bill test, hold the bottom of the bill between index finger and thumb if he holds his weight older bird,if it folds bird of the year.
wowza. cool to see all those roosters together, surprised you didnt drop those 2 over the ice. at 7:20 Ace is heading for the moon, LOL he is a real "springy springer" Great hunt
@@fidiusjwhoopie yeah, I didn't handle that big flush real well. Got a bit flustered. For sure should've gotten that 1st one. I blame the one that got up right beside me for throwing me off. 😆
Good job locating those last two birds. I was curious why after missing the first shot, you swung to shoot the bird to your right when there were three roosters that flushed in front of you? I've not been feeling well most of November so I kept being outdoors to a minimum. I'll have a video up in the next day or two. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
Man, what a hunt! Roosters galore and a dog to die for. I am laughing about loss of a 2 dollar shell....my daughters can blow 2 grand in a minute! I would bring you a case of shells to go on such a hunt. Ace reminds me of my dear departed dog whom i nearly shot as you have only a split second when quail blows thru the trees. I have gotten so quick at shooting you would have to yell hen fast to keep me off it. What is the fine for shooting a hen by the way??? I have shot several birds but never a pheasant. I somewhat regrettably spent last 35yrs putting kids thru school, law school so my time has been spent on the grind. A bit behind my skeet machine on my land. I have a gun collection to be envious of but most out the box and in safe, never fired . I guess having 3 great well educated kids was well worth it. I considered learning to fly so I could zip up and hunt a couple days but wow that plane is expensive and eats time in constant training. Don't get the idea I am a jillionare, taint, but the wife seems happy with her life, mostly. But I once went on an overnight duck hunt when kids were small and caught hell about that, still. Keep up the great hunting and videos and I will watch . By the way I have never used or owned other than 20ga, dad and father used 20s and never saw need for heavy gun. I dont take 60yd shots and use 3in mags for bigger birds. Plenty using 28ga here but not enough for a pheasant past 25yds and I would melt to lose a bird. All the best, thanks. WAK.PHD

Nice hunt and great looking habitat…need to get out West
Question…what software do you use for editing?
I use Shotcut. It's user friendly, free, & doesn't leave a watermark.

The one that flushed behind me was a much better opportunity. Hope you're feeling better & able to get out after the roosters!
