    Live in concert he sings the "infamous 3rd verse". Crowd goes crazy! Garth is the best!
    "Well I guess I was wrong
    I just don't belong
    But then, I've been there before
    And everything is alright
    I'll just say goodnight
    And I'll show myself to the door
    Hey I didn't mean to cause a big scene
    Just wait 'til I've finished this glass
    Then sweet little lady
    I'll head back to the bar
    And you can kiss my ass!"

  • @Melly01
    @Melly01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    As others have said, this is a compilation of concerts. The most fun vids of this song are the good quality ones where you can hear him, but also the roar of the crowd giving the energy back and singing along. This was the studio version and his actual concert performances of it are much more playful. His single biggest concert was probably in Central Park in 1997. It was free and over a million people showed up. I've seen him live several times and you have to be ready to grab those tix when they go on sale - he sells out stadiums in mere minutes. Still! After a 30+ year career, taking 10 years off to raise his kids and recently(ish) returning to the music scene, there still won't be an empty seat anywhere he goes.
    Definitely check out The Dance if you can find it ... there are a lot of sneaky covers online and he keeps his music clamped down pretty tightly. Thunder Rolls, Shameless ... his hits just roll on and on. There's a fun concert video, when you can find it, where he flies out over the audience in a harness right up to the nosebleed seats. The man is fearless!

    This is a collection of more than one show ( notice his shirt changes). He won so many awards for entertainer of the year, he took himself off the ballot, saying it was time to have someone else win. He was first country artist with big shows and he would harness up fly over the crowd and jump up on parts of the stage. At the height of his career he stopped touring to raise his 3 daughters. They are grown now he is touring again.

      The fact he stepped away when he did for his kids is the best example of how down to earth he is. Willing to give up the fame and the money because his kids ment more to him. Not many celebrities would make that sacrifice. It just made people love him more

    • @samrester6254

      Where did you here this? He stepped away to let the furor die down from cheating on his wife while she was home raising 3 kids. He was gone all the time and was suspected of cheating with Trisha Yearwood.
      You think it's a coincidence he stops touring in 2001 (year of divorce) and starts touring again in 2005 (year he married Trisha).
      You think it only takes 4 years and a couple months (time between last and new tour dates) to raise 3 daughters? Seriously?

    • @Hot_Mess_Studio
      @Hot_Mess_Studio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@samrester6254 wrong. He stopped touring in 2001. Married Trisha in 2005. From 2009 to 2012 he did select shows in Vegas but he wasn't touring just flying back and forth between shows. He did 9 shows in Nashville in 2010. And started going on tour again in 2014, the same yr hos youngest started college. Hw bought 2 plots of land on the country and built a house for himself and one for his ex right across the road. They had 50/50 custody which was exchanged every day in the early evening, so neither of them had to go a single day without seeing their kids

    Garth does alot more for his fans than just extend his hand from the stage. For every concert his does, he always finds the worst sear in the stadium, then gives that person a front row upgrade. For a while even (back several years ago). He would find who bought the 10,000th, 100,000th ticket etc, then bringing that fan backstage, and giving them a brand new car!! There is no other artist, in any genre of music, that is more fan friendly than Garth. 🤠

    Quite a few country artists do football stadium concerts and will sellout every time, Kenny Chesney, Jason Alden, Luke Bryan are all hugh concerts. Garth puts on a great show, a lot of times he will stop singing and the crowd will just pick up where he left off and be just as loud. In the early 2000’s he did a concert in Central Park that was free and was televised live on prime time tv, he filled Central Park it was bigger than time square on New Years Eve. He had large tv monitors like you see at professional football game brought in and placed thru the park so everyone could view it. I believe you can still watch it on you tube.

I was lucky to see him in his hey day, the man is completely crazy & energetic. A born entertainer who really loves his fans. After the show was over we stood by his bus & he signed things & talked one on one with all of us. He didn’t rush, he thanked us personally, a very humble man.There were hundreds of people by the bus, he was probably exhausted from the show, but he made sure he saw all of us one by one & gave us a big hug. This song & The Thunder Rolls were the songs I heard that got me into country music! You should also check out his wife's music. Trisha Yearwood is an amazing musician in her own right. The two of them are an amazing couple! Some of her songs include "She's in Love with the Boy" and "X's and O's". - Hawk

    Aw. My mom and I heard this for the first time together when I turned 21... we had gone out to shoot some pool and be adults together(!). I hated country, but I dug this tune. Others were singing along... it was a great vibe!
    Thank you! Brings me back to a wonderful memory. RIP Momma.

    I don't know about other places, but every person in every bar in Texas can sing along when they play this song. Another great thing about Garth Brooks is that he buys a lot of the best seats at all of his concerts. They always sell out and he doesn't want the ticket companies to buy them and scalp them, so he buys them and gives them away.

    This song has a 3rd verse you have to check out the 'live' concert version, Garth is very protective of his content, so you might have to search a while before you find it. Garth Brooks sold out huge arenas and still does, in minutes. His Central Park concert, August of 1997, which was free to the public, is one of the top 5 biggest concerts ever. Garth expected maybe a few thousand people, mainly since New York City did not have one country music station and he figured not many people would be interested in attending his concert, over 1,000,000 people showed up. The American Music Awards gave one award in it's history for Entertainer of the year back in the 90s, everyone in that category was HUGE...Garth won the award and then refused it because he didn't feel he should have won it, they never gave the award again. He is not only a great artist, he's a great guy.

    Garth Brooks has more hit songs, and gold, and platinum albums than most people can count. He isn't just the biggest country artist of all time, he is also the biggest crossover artist of all time, and the biggest in record sales of all time.

    That one don't have the extra verse in it. He sells out in minutes everywhere he goes. One of his top songs but he has many. The dance. Shamless. Standing outside the fire. Unanswered prayers. He's done songs for movies. Entertainer of the year so many times. I think hall of fame. He concerts are the best!

    The third verse is my favorite because it’s be how I acted! Garth sold out Central Park in NYC! He is the consummate performer. He gets so much enjoyment hearing the crowds sing his songs. I’ve seen him sing his song I believe it’s Your Song and the fans got him choked up and had to finish it for him. He truly loves his fans. I saw Garth at a baseball stadium in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1999. But I’m part of the extreme old school Garth fans. Now Garth got his start while he was at Oklahoma State University in Stoolwater Oklahoma. There’s a bar there called Tumblweeds and they have a big festival every year called Calf Fry. I got to see Garth play there at Calf Fry and it was better than the big show he played.

    I believe this is a montage of several concerts. The large stadium you see is Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas, which was torn down in 2010. He held three concerts there three nights in a row in 1993. All were sold out in a stadium that held about 66,000 people. I was there the first night sitting in about the seventh row from stage. It was phenomenal!

    When you asked how many people were there I watched a video about his career and they talked about when he did a concert in New York City Central Park and before the concert he was worried that not many people would show up and he said at 1 point there estimated count a hour and a half prior was like 780,000 people and they had told him that count was from 90 minutes before they had told him and they were still filling in massive numbers so it may have very well have been over a million people at 1 concert in New York City at a time when with all the different listening options availed to New Yorkers there was not a single station that aired Country Music.
