The need to do what bishop ranch did, have an outdoor mall with theater and outdoor play area and restaurants… these indoor malls are boring and outdated concepts
Last year, I submitted few permit applications to city of Pleasanton. Their online submittal portal is the worst of a kind. It got glitches and bugs here and there. The city people wouldn't answer phone and refused to take application OTC. Calling them for support and help on moving forward each time getting stuck online uploading docs was like a nightmare. It took literally 5 months to get a permit approved and issued. This city is a joke. Now hearing the language from the council member, pretty much tell these are dictator management telling property owners what should and should not do. No wonder top-down city people would never offer you a helping hand but an authoritarian stick. Very unpleasant city management will destroy the city soon. Move to Dublin or Fremont or Milpitas.
Is the mall had a themepark that would bring ppl in also. They need entertainment ppl want to go where there is hype live entertainment music shows and fun .
For me, the biggest disappointment about Stoneridge Mall is the food court. The options at the food court are lousy. I wish it looks more like the Westfield Mall at Steven Creeks, Santa Clara.
It seems odd the city is asking the owners to each put up $50k to start with no guarantee of a return. If the city is so confident, they can risk their dollars.
Livermore, excuse me, San Francisco outlets…in Livermore…aside from covid, the main reason why the mall is doing so poorly. This mall was healthy before covid but since then, customers have flocked to the outlets.
Funny you ask, but they’ve moved about half of them off the property in the past month and now there appears to be construction starting on the F21-old Sears parking lot where those Teslas were. The Sears parking is still full of them however
Thay mall is dead. It's sad to see its slow, and painful death throughout the years but to see them absolutely blunder their last hope like this is frustrating to say the least.
The City wants to get the "ball rolling"... welp, the 4 owners don't... because they assume all the financial responsibility and risk... sorry, if the City wants to get the ball rolling then they should make the initial investment.
Put some of those arcades, bowling, karaoke what not have you things in there…Nordstroms and Sears already left so fill in those spaces and thank me later!
1100 housing units? Where is the water going to come from? Builders and cities are ignoring how all of that is going to affect the cities, roads, streets, water and sewage and the electrical grid and whether or not people will be interested. Have a online place where the residents of Pleasanton can comment on what they would like to see in that space. Cities over think and then another failed project unfinished and left to rot.
They quite literally take all of it into account, it’s the feeling that most people don’t more people living close to them because they’ll “ruin” what they love
Once again progress and improvement held up by greedy landowners who are being cheapskates for no reason. No one cares about JC Penny anymore lol build the housing already. Oh and that “to raise a village” line is BARS. Fire. So good lol
No such thing as homeless in pleasanton the sherriff, city police or bart police shot and killed them by now either that or an off duty oakland pol8ce officer working over time shot and killed them THAT'S 4 DIFFERENT AGENCIES FIR A CITY THE SIZE OF MY FOOT HARASSING THE HOMELESS
Malls have been drying for over a decade, nobody wants to drive 15, find parking, go to the store in hopes you find what you’re looking for at a good price. Yeah, malls suck.
The need to do what bishop ranch did, have an outdoor mall with theater and outdoor play area and restaurants… these indoor malls are boring and outdated concepts
You sound mentally slow and no damn well you too soft to shop in the rain and cold
City center will lose its hype too. Already has significant fall off. Really only see people when there’s events happening.
😢Disagree. Love indoor malls. There's nothing worth going to Bishop Ranch
Does the city own the property? Very authoritarian of them

I was at Stoneridge today and it doesn’t feel like a mall anymore. I knew it was a wrap when Nordstrom closed 😕
😢
Maybe have stores people want?
Like
What?
If the mall had a grocery store a gym a Best Buy and a theater I’d never leave the place
Is the mall had a themepark that would bring ppl in also. They need entertainment ppl want to go where there is hype live entertainment music shows and fun .
sad. stoneridge was a date spot when I was in high school in the 90s.

I still remember the water feature with seating that used to be in the middle of the mall.
Isn’t this the closest mall for people who live in the Valley to get some decent clothes? The people in Tracy have literally nowhere to shop! 😤

Men’s Wearhouse? Macy’s? That’s your plan? Why not just bring in a Radio Shack and Sharper Image?
Radio shack? Are they still around?
@@RacerX1971 You are not getting the point
And Sears! Woolworth!
@@hansel2001 and Gemco, Mervyn, kmart
This location is prime. The property owners $$$$
They need to revamp it like Valley Fair Westfield in San Jose / Santa Clara or Santana Row
Where are they going to move all the Tesla cars?

still an easy spot to get some hawk tua ❤
😂what?!
@@YGGHLM-wu4od don’t take the bait from incells.
Bruh so full of 💩
Eminent domain, like the state has done numerous times before.
Sad.

That mall is full of stores that are nothing more than Chinese resellers from temu zzzzz
Cost of living is so high, people don’t have any money to spend. Talk to politicians about their policies.

wow i drove by everyday and didnt know a mall there
Who wants to own a condo when the HOA is so high and it's rocketing to the sky? It's going to be like Florida.
Put some of those arcades, bowling, karaoke what not have you things in there…Nordstroms and Sears already left so fill in those spaces and thank me later!
People are Broke
Aw.
Turn it into a casino.
can we turn it into an amusement park. like a mini coaster park. malls are lame.
Pleasanton does not want to become a Walnut Creek and all the extras it now is.

Why do we need more housing and there's no more jobs? Ohhhh I see we need more migrants with no investment in California right
There’s jobs. They just don’t pay enough to afford rent.
build some housing on it! empty malls are a waste of space!
Add free wifi and you will see more foot traffic.
Once again progress and improvement held up by greedy landowners who are being cheapskates for no reason. No one cares about JC Penny anymore lol build the housing already.

Housing in a mall. Who wants to live in a mall? Sounds awful.
