Thank you ! ..very clear and to the point. You made it so I feel confident that I could make my own and thanks for advising what all the parts are/where they can be purchased.
Thanks for the very informative and educational video. I appreciated the detail and clarity so I can make my own. The only thing I couldn't hear or catch the name of, was the thing that you wrapped your finished product on. I look forward to seeing your future videos...
Thanks gpselk, I appreciate it. These used to be called Lindy rig wraps, but are now called "Lindy Riggers," I hope that answers the question. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful, thanks for going step by step and great idea using the big handle to demonstrate! I also trim my squid, but at a very severe angle, leaving 2-3 strands full length.
great video and you did a nice job explaining this set up but it still looks like I could really make a mess of this. I will give it a go and see how it goes.
deltaman213 Thanks for the question. I am by no means the expert here, but for what it's worth, I have had better success with lures that glow in the early morning hours and late evening hours. Especially when coupled with a dodger that glows. If there is still good light, using something with UV is a good option. There are also scents you can add to these presentations that have UV die in them. Lastly, more often than not, I am using a set up with some combination of both glow and UV together. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
UT MOUNTAINLIFE You got a subscriber here! I am pretty new to kokanee fishing, only caught a handful but it is late in the season, however it does make sense that UV would be bad in the morning with the lack of light. I am noticing that my glows are not really glowing, do you leave your lures out to 'charge' their glow? Keep the vids coming, look forward to more kokanee vids!
deltaman213 I personally haven't "charged" my glow rigs while trolling, although it's probably not a bad idea. I sometimes carry a flashlight for this purpose while ice fishing. A quick flash in front on an LED flashlight would do the trick if you're hoping to get a better glow. The other alternative, now that you know how to make your own spinners, is to just replace the beads with newer ones. Thanks for the subscription, and good luck with the rest of Koke season!
+klok95330 Fishing for Kokanee from the shore is not a worth while endeavor, just because they usually hang out in deeper water which requires you to be away from shore and using a downrigger :( But you're right, you can still use a spinner like this without the dodger to target trout species. Thanks for the question.
Good question Mark, I haven't jigged with the squids before so I can't answer. I know that some of the more popular jigging methods for Kokanee include the P-Line Kokanator, Bomber Slab Spoons, Buzz Bombs etc... If you try it out, let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching!
+Paul Monaco Thanks Paul, I was kind of worried when I posted this as I wondered if it was a tad too long. But I wanted to hopefully be kind of thorough to where people could be proficient enough to make their own by the end of the vid. Thanks for the compliment and good luck!
oh it helped alright... Last night i tied like 40 jigs and kept them tied on a pool noodle for next time i go to the dock When i go trolling now i'll know how to tie wedding rings and what not. So thanks for that thanks for all the information, very thorough and detailed
Perfect content to answer my "from the east coast" questions .
Glad you found it helpful, thanks.

Thank you! I like the idea of leaving a few strands full length, I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks again!
Great demo on the knot thanks
No problem, glad it helped!
Thank you for sharing your know-how. This was a very well produced video.

Thanks, I'm sure you'll do great with a little practice.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this.
No Problem Lorne, hope it helped!
I noticed you were using UV & Glow
What benefits does each have, and when should I use one over the other?

Do you ever put a treble hook on the back?
I haven’t but might be a good addition!
Great video.
Thanks Ben!
what about for bank fishers that can't afford a boat to troll? what would you use then? I would assume a spinner but no dodger?

Awesome stuff!
Thanks Brandon, I appreciate it.
Great video! Thanks so much!
BC Fishn' Thanks a bunch, hopefully it was helpful.
What size hook
will the squid work for jigging?

Great, glad it helped, good luck!
that lake was strawberry reservoir right..?
Yes it was, I love that place.
that's so cool because that's the exact lake I'm planning on using this for
Nice, you should have some success with this rig. Good luck and thanks for watching!
What was your lure wrap called?
....or you can just pull off the line from the spool, tie your hooks, and when done THEN cut your desired line length off of the spool
Good point, this would surely add up if you're doing a bunch of these. Thanks!
The lure wrap is called the "Lindy Rigger." The "Lindy Rigger Kit" wouldn't be a bad way to go either.
Why not just use 2 egg loops. So much easier
🆒️✊🤙
Was going really good until he picked up Stren line. NEVER BUY Stren unless you want to lose fish. Great video otherwise
