I work with people with communication disabilities. Singing is actually a great therapy method for some. People with aphasia, for example, some can't say anything but when they sing they can remember the words and sing a whole song perfectly. Singing is a really fascinating, how it can be so in your backbone that even after a disability has taken your words you can still sing

It would be nice if part of curing corruption was using healing powers or song then to keep them stable they have to calm their mental state so then we see steven bonding with other gems. Maybe they would be happy to hear their diamond is alive and took thousands of years to look for any cures to cure them even if that ment becoming steven who could grow and improve better than she ever could.
If it's their first song and the diamonds can't bring them to sing with him i can see him trying to ease them by kinda singing or singing sololy maybe at first being like "it's okay but it's worth a chance right?" Maybe they would sing their reply. Lets say it didn't work. One or two diamonds walk away. If one the other might second glance at steven then follow the other diamond. New theory: the song they “create” is one we’ve heard every episode: “Love Like You” which will be sung by white diamond when she stops suppressing her emotions and learns to love, like Steven.
I think White Diamond will play a major part of healing corruption. Think about it... Yellow Diamond changes gem's physical state, Blue changes their mental state. Now going by that logic we came see that Pink Diamond/Rose/Steven (this is complicated now) can heal someone's physical state, so that would mean White Diamond could heal someone's mental state. It would also explain why Rose Quartz was never able to heal the corrupted gems. It's not how her power works. Greg's leg, Connie's eyes, Amethyst's gem, Lapis' Gem, and Lars when he dies... These are all physical injuries. I can't remember any other people Steven healed. I'm also not counting centipeetle because she transformed back into her corrupted form at the end of the episode. Tell me what you think, I'm not sure what else to do with this so feel free to add on to it.

My jaw fell open at the wailing stone mention-- oh my god, I completely forgot about those! You're so right, that's brilliant. I would so love if the wailing stones were the device used to send the song around the world-- and can you imagine the montage of gems all over the planet waking up and remembering? Steven often cries when he sings-- what if that also has been foreshadowing? What if the song triggers him to start crying a river, which magically fills the ocean or something? Seems a bit grandiose but I bet the crewniverse could make something like that absolutely gorgeous.

I'm really late to this video, but I want to throw something out there. With the latest SU episode (Reunited) Steven projects a pink light with his gem at the end of the episode. Since Steven has Pink/Rose's aura, he could possibly use that to cure corruption. This ties in with the diamond powers theory where Pink possibly has healing powers (which I don't think her powers would change as she shapeshifts into Rose, and then to Steven, though his abilities are still somewhat limited). It's just something that came to mind when watching the video.
I think the idea of the diamonds (including steven since we now know that steven is technically a diamond) singing a song that heals corruption is a wonderful way to make such a thing happen because 1. We would get to see white diamond 2. We would get to hear all of them sing, and something unrelated to this, for a while I've been thinking about why blue grieves so much and after seeing the episode where we see pink talking to blue and yellow about her colony, you know, the one with lapis and the barn, we see that it isn't yellow that is lecturing her, but blue. That's when i realized that the reason blue may be grieving so much is because she feels like she was too hard on pink about her wanting to end her colony and how pink was the one who wanted a colony in the first place but now wants to end it because of a rebellion. Now that pink is gone, blue feels like she was too hard on her and feels like she should have done something instead of just lecture her about how she should deal with the uprising. This is just my theory though.

It could also be possible that you can only hear the song once exposed to the corruption blast. The song acts as a virus that tears apart the mind as they transform into corrupted gems. Though, there's not a lot of solid evidence to back this up. It's a hunch more than anything. But, I just think it's a cool idea that I wanted to throw out there.
I thought it would be scientific, because both the light bodies of gems and the sound of music are created through waves in the air, and the sound waves can reshape that of the gem's lightwaves. That's how I thought the original corruption(it may replay forever in their heads, keeping them corrupted), and how the destabiliser worked (the destabiliser looked like a tuning fork too)
I could totally see Steven learning the theme song of the crystal gem rebellion or something , and using the wailingstones to amplify it across the earth.
Jasper is last to get cured, has a pitiful look on her face with tears in her eyes, and has her own arc. She learns the truth and feels guilty and becomes a crystal gem.
I support this theory and have been thinking about this a lot: I think it's strange that Peridot didn't know what music was. The crystal gems are singing the whole time, but the gem from Homeworld has no clue what singing is. Perhaps it's forbidden by the diamonds? When Steven sang to Peridot she became really friendly right away.
I've always thought that human technology would play some sort of role eventually in the show. We've seen the communication hub broadcast to what one can assume is all of the televisions on earth, in Peridot's message. I'm not entirely sure, but with television everywhere like it is now, it could definitely help them to get the song out farther and wider across the earth.
I want this to be the case so badly! And it does make sense too. And just because we got to see the corruption attack briefly, in my opinion, it doesn't disprove there being a song accompanying the hands gesture, just think about it: a song born from mourning and wrath causes corruption, and a song born from happiness, love and hope cures corruption. I'm using this singing dementia theory to try and help my daughter with her aphantasia, she doesnt have an internal voice or a minds eye but she has a weird buzz when she sings along then stops but the music continues. Working on making that stronger to see if it will make a stronger neuro pathway.

Well what if there is only one version of a corrupted gem that "get[s] to be surface", which would be the monster version? What if by going in the gemstone and removing the surface version, the previous normal version of that gem would be restored (the gem would go back to the way it was before the corruption blast)?
Also in save the light and attack the light, Steven has an ability to cure burns or poison with his ukulele. So could this mean he could also cure corruption this way?
Before A Single Pale Rose aired, my theory for curing corruption was that Steven would use his dream powers to heal a corrupted gem from within their mind, because Garnet said that Corruption is not a tear of the body, but a tear of the mind. I still mostly stand by that theory, but now I'm thinking the diamonds have to be involved somehow. And also a musical number, because we all know steven universe.
Yea, I can actually see this as a cure! Just imagine the Gems going around using the warppad and seeing teammates that were originally lost to corruption are now healed and remember who they are and who their friends were. I would love that a lot!

If you see maybe the song of corruption made a sound that vibrates inside the gem which prevents them to remember their right form so in order to cure them there should be something that heals that sound probably the song as you say or probably Steven should go in them and help them to remember their shape
perhaps when a gem is made and pops out of their hole the song is played which gives them their knowledge of their gem(number and cut) and purpose which might be why amythest never knew what gem number or cut she was or who she was or anything about the kindergarden so playing the song again would make them 'remember' this thats my theory

As much as a song could be a corruption cure, I still think it may be more interesting if it didn't come from the 3 Diamonds singing together I mean, sure maybe have Steven help out too.... but I would love it if the way to cure corruption was a song by the gem's as a fusion if their powers combined creates corruption, then fusing should create a being stronger than their individual stronger - a being greater than the sum of its parts a 3 way (or 4 with Steven?) Diamond fusion would just be a great way to fix it, and if nothing else, an impressive 30 second visual

I think Pink Diamond knew that if the other Diamonds know she is half human and thus needs the Earth to exist, that her sacrifice ultimately was to save the Earth. Greg Universe, showed her such honest love, and that he followed his heart, even when it meant abandoning everything he wanted to be with the one person he loved that Pink Diamond realized what she had to do... and I also would not be surprised if Greg Universe knew about pink Diamond.

Personally I think that he only needs (and will probably only get) yellow and blue diamond to help. Blue has emotional powers, yellow has physical (destabilizing) powers and steven has healing powers. I think combined they will cure corruption. I feel that the destructive component in corruption comes from white diamond. Putting white and pink as opposite powers

Oooooh I like the theory about the wailing stone, and I think Greg might help (whether it be by writing the music or playing an instrument or help with broadcasting through the wailing stone) because he's connected to the original 'wailing stone' song and he desperately wanted to help. This could be his way of helping because of his musical background.

I'm really late to this video, but I want to throw something out there. With the latest SU episode (Reunited) Steven projects a pink light with his gem at the end of the episode. Since Steven has Pink/Rose's aura, he could possibly use that to cure corruption. This ties in with the diamond powers theory where Pink possibly has healing powers (which I don't think her powers would change as she shapeshifts into Rose, and then to Steven, though his abilities are still somewhat limited). It's just something that came to mind when watching the video.
Honestly. Curing corruption with a song is the most Steven universe thing I've ever heard. It's way to fitting
I think the idea of the diamonds (including steven since we now know that steven is technically a diamond) singing a song that heals corruption is a wonderful way to make such a thing happen because 1. We would get to see white diamond 2. We would get to hear all of them sing, and something unrelated to this, for a while I've been thinking about why blue grieves so much and after seeing the episode where we see pink talking to blue and yellow about her colony, you know, the one with lapis and the barn, we see that it isn't yellow that is lecturing her, but blue. That's when i realized that the reason blue may be grieving so much is because she feels like she was too hard on pink about her wanting to end her colony and how pink was the one who wanted a colony in the first place but now wants to end it because of a rebellion. Now that pink is gone, blue feels like she was too hard on her and feels like she should have done something instead of just lecture her about how she should deal with the uprising. This is just my theory though.
Since we're talking about music and that blast was thought to have been music, when I saw it playing all I could think was that scream at the beginning of Down With the Sickness
Biggest Plot Twist, we already heard the song: "Let me drive my van into your heart".
That actually makes a lot of sense. Centipeetle's memory was jogged when Steven sang the chaps jingle, and she remembered being his friend.
It could also be possible that you can only hear the song once exposed to the corruption blast. The song acts as a virus that tears apart the mind as they transform into corrupted gems.
Though, there's not a lot of solid evidence to back this up. It's a hunch more than anything. But, I just think it's a cool idea that I wanted to throw out there.
I thought it would be scientific, because both the light bodies of gems and the sound of music are created through waves in the air, and the sound waves can reshape that of the gem's lightwaves. That's how I thought the original corruption(it may replay forever in their heads, keeping them corrupted), and how the destabiliser worked (the destabiliser looked like a tuning fork too)
I could totally see Steven learning the theme song of the crystal gem rebellion or something , and using the wailingstones to amplify it across the earth.
Jasper is last to get cured, has a pitiful look on her face with tears in her eyes, and has her own arc. She learns the truth and feels guilty and becomes a crystal gem.

I think it's strange that Peridot didn't know what music was. The crystal gems are singing the whole time, but the gem from Homeworld has no clue what singing is. Perhaps it's forbidden by the diamonds? When Steven sang to Peridot she became really friendly right away.
I've always thought that human technology would play some sort of role eventually in the show. We've seen the communication hub broadcast to what one can assume is all of the televisions on earth, in Peridot's message. I'm not entirely sure, but with television everywhere like it is now, it could definitely help them to get the song out farther and wider across the earth.
I want this to be the case so badly! And it does make sense too. And just because we got to see the corruption attack briefly, in my opinion, it doesn't disprove there being a song accompanying the hands gesture, just think about it: a song born from mourning and wrath causes corruption, and a song born from happiness, love and hope cures corruption. It would be AWESOME!

I'm using this singing dementia theory to try and help my daughter with her aphantasia, she doesnt have an internal voice or a minds eye but she has a weird buzz when she sings along then stops but the music continues. Working on making that stronger to see if it will make a stronger neuro pathway.
I honestly think that it will be solved with steven entering the gems mind and fixing every thing to restore there minds
Samuel Barna Well we know that Steven can go into a gem... hey, you know how there are many versions, perhaps a version of every reformation of Pearl inside Pearl's pearl? Well what if there is only one version of a corrupted gem that "get[s] to be surface", which would be the monster version? What if by going in the gemstone and removing the surface version, the previous normal version of that gem would be restored (the gem would go back to the way it was before the corruption blast)?

Before A Single Pale Rose aired, my theory for curing corruption was that Steven would use his dream powers to heal a corrupted gem from within their mind, because Garnet said that Corruption is not a tear of the body, but a tear of the mind. I still mostly stand by that theory, but now I'm thinking the diamonds have to be involved somehow. And also a musical number, because we all know steven universe.
Yea, I can actually see this as a cure! Just imagine the Gems going around using the warppad and seeing teammates that were originally lost to corruption are now healed and remember who they are and who their friends were. I would love that a lot!

I'd go crazy if the Diamonds started singing, White with her own chord, Yellow with her own chord, Blue with her own chord... and then when Steven starts to sing, you can hear Pink's chord.
If you see maybe the song of corruption made a sound that vibrates inside the gem which prevents them to remember their right form so in order to cure them there should be something that heals that sound probably the song as you say or probably Steven should go in them and help them to remember their shape
There is also that time when centipedele reacted to the chaos theme song and not to the actual chaos themselves
Just finished watching Macross 7, can confirm that universal issues can in fact be resolved with songs.
perhaps when a gem is made and pops out of their hole the song is played which gives them their knowledge of their gem(number and cut) and purpose which might be why amythest never knew what gem number or cut she was or who she was or anything about the kindergarden
so playing the song again would make them 'remember' this

Referring back to the Pearls’ performance for the Diamonds; maybe performing musical numbers is a form of entertainment on Homeworld. Rose/PD took interest in Greg’s music, as did the Gems. So, maybe it’s not too outlandish that corruption is reversed using a song of sorts.

Hey! Something interesting is the fact that when centipedle first came back from corruption, she didn't remember Steven, not until she heard the Chaaps song.
The Crystal Gems will start an anti-corruption flash mob which will heal all of the corrupted gems through a beautifully choreographed and perfectly synced dance while Turn Down for What plays in the background. Try and prove this wrong: you can’t.
As much as a song could be a corruption cure, I still think it may be more interesting if it didn't come from the 3 Diamonds singing together
I mean, sure maybe have Steven help out too.... but I would love it if the way to cure corruption was a song by the gem's as a fusion
if their powers combined creates corruption, then fusing should create a being stronger than their individual stronger - a being greater than the sum of its parts
a 3 way (or 4 with Steven?) Diamond fusion would just be a great way to fix it, and if nothing else, an impressive 30 second visual
I always just thought that Steven would use his healing powers, there was even a scraped episode were he did just that. So it’s something the cruniverse has on there mind in the past. And we know that they hold onto their ideas, apparently Rebecca Sugar had the idea of Steven bringing back Lars from the dead as early as the third episode of season one!
I think Pink Diamond knew that if the other Diamonds know she is half human and thus needs the Earth to exist, that her sacrifice ultimately was to save the Earth. Greg Universe, showed her such honest love, and that he followed his heart, even when it meant abandoning everything he wanted to be with the one person he loved that Pink Diamond realized what she had to do... and I also would not be surprised if Greg Universe knew about pink Diamond.
I feel like if They sung they’d cure corruption, but the memories would still be Disoriented as they probably need White Diamond for that area.

I thibk the reason why music has that effect on people is because of rhe fact that music tickles a different part of the human brain that may be what causes people to be engaged in those studies.
I'm so looking forward to a song to cure corruption that would be nice to see and hear plus I love the songs they sing there always very emotional and just helpful for all the characters in Steven they should definitely do a song.

Personally I think that he only needs (and will probably only get) yellow and blue diamond to help. Blue has emotional powers, yellow has physical (destabilizing) powers and steven has healing powers. I think combined they will cure corruption. I feel that the destructive component in corruption comes from white diamond. Putting white and pink as opposite powers
