I love the way they did it. By not announcing the game until they were ready to drop within a year. To many companies announce to early and don't deliver on time. 17:03
Don’t jump the gun here lol the fact that there isn’t an actual release date is troubling. Means they will likely delay it because even they don’t know when it will be done. It’s a standard industry these days however. Have a vague release date so you can delay it as late as possible

I actually love that they put farkle in the game. Growing up in Texas, we used to play it with the family, and it reminded me of my Grandpa.

been playing and loving KDC on playstation (got one of my bros and nephew currently playing it too) and i'm just floored by this game. the amount of depth and possibility. the "oh hey go find this jewel for this crown but it never arrived" and finding blood on the path only to follow it to find the merchant dead by bandits, without the game holding your hand to be like, go here, now here, but leaving the player with sense of discover. also with quests like that town massacre and the rollercoaster of finding out the ppl involved then drinking with the priest and that entire story (my bro's dog ruined that for him and the priest didn't trust him) but seeing that unfold was just sheer mind blowing. this game is amazing and ahh i can't wait for the sequel. i really want to finish the first game but i dont think i can hold out on playing the new one if it comes out before completing the first.
This interview is absolutely fantastic! I love how you two interact with such warmth and shared excitement for KCD2. The questions are spot-on, and even though Tobi remains secretive about the details. It's like watching two friends chat about their favorite topic. Great job to both of you!
I think it’s better they kept it secret rather than dropping hints here and there. They would have diluted the impact the announcement had. I believe the way they did it generated a huge amount of publicity for the game. And like he said, the TH-camrs kept the flame burning and us, the fans, guessing, hoping, anticipating. All this made the actual announcement an “I can’t believe this is actually happening” moment.
52:55 I always felt like they should allow you to save the game by using outhouses.
In some beds you are allowed to sleep and save and i feel like thats much better in terms of saving than having henry take a dump

@@jeh966 what ? didnt mention a easter egg but said that there is one that havent being found yet ( there is a long time ago so maybe it as being found now)but when he (toby)said that to Roxy it wasnt found and suposedly its in the dlc of theresa

I personally agree with WH over not revealing anything until the game was pretty much feature complete. Revealing the existence of a game title I feel, pressures a studio to release a game, even if it isn't ready. So the game has huge features cut from it and it releases a buggy mess. KCD1 was released in a very buggy state and features originally advertised in it's kickstarter had to be cut. Though you can't really blame anyone there for the early reveal because it was crowdfunded.
Better examples?
Cyberpunk revealed that they were working on a game almost a decade prior to release and that game was hyped to the moon and fell very short in terms of buggyness and cut features.
Starfield was revealed in 2018 and released five years later, overhyped and a buggy mess.
At least cyberpunk was interesting post 20 hours, but yeah, anywhere but PC was broken to the point of unplayable for weeks

So awesome you got to do this. I want to know if there will be two handed swords. Not heavily specialized zweihanders with lugs or ring guards, but something more like a bigger, longer longsword.
Next time you need to ask him about the travel between the 2 regions. Very curious how it works

So 3 points: 1. Totally agree on inventory weight Roxy. It’s a mechanic I mod out every chance I get. Not even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Is realistic with inventory weight (but closer than I’ve seen before). 2. Appreciated Sir Toby’s take on DEI. I like artists to have freedom of expression so good to see them feeling free to express themselves without conforming to exterior pressures. 3. Also love that he asked you what the community thought of the 2 trailers. Always nice to hear a studio being open to feedback be that positive or negative 👏 👏

46:54 There are definitely boars in KCD 1. Not aggressive ones, though, and hunting them was unrealistic. You'd shoot them, and they'd just kinda grunt and casually walk off each time until you finally killed them with the fourth arrow or whatever. Would be good if they required spears or crossbows to kill or, at the very least, took off running at the first shot and kept running until they bled out like wild animals really do.

Never in a million years did I think I would fall in love with a medieval rpg never got into that genre but kcd called my attention and since I got a good deal I saw no reason why not to try it and I fell addicted can't wait for the second game!

Man god bless Tobi for that statement about the "weaker" hardware. I've heard so many crybaby developers blaming consoles like the Series S for their own poor game optimization! If you take a look at RDR2 which ran and looked amazing on the weaker PS4/XB1 back then or titles like Starfield or Cyberpunk now running so smoothly on Series S it's proof that you just have to do your homework as a developer to get a well rounded game that is able to reach an all around stable and good performance. I am really positive that they'll release KCD2 in great condition this time🤞🏼
Though I don’t see them getting around the Cry Engine CPU bottleneck. It’s just a characteristic/ limitation of the Engine.
@@raskolnikov6443 in the end it's the same thing with any engine, you just have to turn the right screws to get it running. Best example is the Switch-Port of KCD, I mean this console is closer to a Gameboy than it is to a gaming PC. Even if you look at PC gaming it's always a good idea to aim for lower hardware standards to make the game accessible for many people. Plus if it runs great on weaker hardware it means that the core of the code is efficient so it is much easier to push graphics factors like fps or resolution to the max on better PCs and flagship consoles. If the game is already finished by now and they stick to the release date I am sure it's already running great on Series S level devices.
I am really liking how Warhorse is operating with the game actually done. Then announcing it. Polishing it and preparing for a good launch date that will hopefully give them a clear window to shine.

I don't really care if Theresa is in the game. But i wish she was, just so there would be another interview with Victoria on your channel. That interview is my favorite video of your channel :)
I know the game is probably almost ready but here are a few things I would like to see in KC: Deliverance II:
- More responsive sword fight. The fights in the first game was fun and complex but sometimes it felt unresponsive with mouse and keyboard, I would love to play an upgraded version of that.
- Less and much shorter loading screens.
- Buy and sell multiple horses.
- Requit followers, payed warriors, companions etc.
- Easyer common actions ( save and sleep from sitting position on bed, eating just as much from pot to raise nurishment to 100 etc)
- Mercy kill with knife (Why should I bend my sword's point for a mercy kill if I have a knife)
- More complex horse riding combat.
- Conversation with multiple people at the same time.
- Reduced armor shine, shiny armors are looks pretty good, but not every armor was polished to so glassy. Common bandits or guards should not be full chromed.
- Better handling of stolen items. I don't think if I stole a glove in a village would be titled stolen in everywhere else on the map.
- More funny cumma lines. I love those.
- Less skills with negative effect, I had so many unspent XP points because I don't like to buy negative effects.
- More variant of filters, I would like to have and option for sub filters like: gloves, helmets, jewelry, stolen items.
- Sword cleaning option, I would't put that bloody sword back to the scabbard.
- Less solid bushes, those bushes gived me hell, let me pass trough.
- Witcher wild hunt like weather effects, rain looked pretty bad in the original game.
- Better pick pocketing, the original game had an awful random pick pocketing system, it should be re-worked from the core.
- More hair and skin color on NPCs.
- Quicker fast travel and sleep/wait.
- More skill based dialog options.
- Less blocking NPCs, we can have more space on those steps, We should not block each other.
- Better horse jump, sometimes the best horse culdn't jump over a small fence or jump out from a shallow river. This should be fixed.
