What do Kiko goats do in the winter?

First big snow of the year...and the goats are outside doing what goats do! One of the things we love about our Kiko is their weather hardiness. They will even sleep outside in the snow if it is a dry snow...while it is still snowing!!! They are equally hardy when our weather turns hot...

that is why i am chosing KIKKO goats as one of the breeds to start my farm/ranch in the next year or so, SPANISH is the other breed i am thinking of

How do you decide the orientation of the shelters? Are the winds predictable enough to leave the openings all to one side or does it not matter?

Great question! Yes they are oriented at an angle away from prevailing winds, which are typically from the West here.

Wow, you have beautiful Kiko goats. My family and I just started raising Boer goats, but I'm thinking of mixing Kiko into the herd next year.

When the snow is deep - they will pack down trails that they all follow so they don't sink.
