    Such a lovely day trip. The architecture and engineering behind those beautiful old buildings is amazing. Those times is when math really came into play, as they didn't have computers to help sort out angles, heights etc. I can't imagine having all that wonderful history within hands reach and not get out and enjoy it. But I guess it's like anywhere, we get used to our surroundings and only realize it when it's pointed out to us. I can imagine the stink from that little river filling the town from the sewage that got dumped into it. Sometimes the farm fields around here are ripe with having assorted manures spread on it, and thankfully it's only for a few days that our senses get assaulted. Can't imagine day after day of that happening. Guess we are kind of lucky being born in these times eh?.. haha. Thanks for sharing, and it was nice to see Lee along for the ride too.
    See ya later.. 💖

      I am reading a book that is based in the time just after the great fire of london. Its shocking to think that people just deficated where they were. That all of that was just in the street. Oh yes we hsbd the same thing with the muck spreading in the fields. It is a bit stinky!

    Pitty you never did the real Abbey building that are still in Abingdon? And the whole old Abbey is marked out in brick on the Abbey meadow, also missed the plan next to Queen Victoria statue witch would of Explained the layout of the abbey which was in comparison to St Paul’s Cathedral in size and you would of also found what still exists of the original Abbey checker buildings. Maybe another visit Morlands Brewery The MG Car club, all MG FROM 1929 -1979 was built on the site of police station McDonalds and abingdon business Park.”The old malt buildings was for malt for brewing not vinegar .

    • @WormsEyeView
      @WormsEyeView  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we have family thete but we never spend much time exploring Abingdin. I really need yo go back and find more. Thank you for ghe heads up. My other half did say about thd politics station being the old MG site. Do they still do yearly MG shows on the meadows?

      Not as much since morlands brewery closed that’s my opinion Since Morland is closed and connection between old speckled hen in the Brewery ceased .Even though Green King market it as moorlands old speckled hen, Wedt gate street Bury st Edmunds.
      The MG car club has got their headquarters in Cemetery Road one of the old exits from the original factory they still do a lot of shows in and around Abingdon and on the Drayton Road roundabout there are boards inside their explaining most of the history and all the models they made I never nice visit maybe.

    Nice video. Need to have this on properly. will do the lot, a bit of a rushed go through as doing job web sites with a bit of YT as a distraction. Did local history videos on old TH-cam that went in a temper in May, So much lost, not on computer, lost when YT went!. Did now and then pieces on things on Facebook, drone stuff and old aerial photo web site photo shameless steals!, not anymore (shut that), Railway. will link a railway video at the end of the line, old photos links in the words of that, Old TV antenna tower by the abbey meadows, old railway site land. Now all gone but photos of how things where. link at end of this, in the video words old photos. 6:23 video time, Stert stream. Goes all the way back to Tilsley park. A long old stream. Not notice the bridge evidence before. Well spotted or researched, could have put in geocaching listing, Cant now as not mine but was. a GPS game (hidden boxes) I gave up doing locally. Had many of them I owned. To the point of writing, the round drain cover, stream under that. Only bit can see daylight when down there. th-cam.com/video/H3BMyeyROpQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/zI-XVQErGo4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/jrqduZZntJQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/play/PLjnWEfscb9aMnCLRwyxeabM1pNs0dK1t_.html coord.info/GC4T7NM
