You know what I would love to see? A breakdown of each one of these homes… With photos of the interiors. You could narrate and tell us things about each one. What I’ve learned about being a TH-cam influencer is that you can always break down topics further and further into more detail for your viewers. I, for one, would absolutely love to see the interiors of each of these castles palaces and homes. Thank you for all you do! ❤
I visited Sandringham house in the summer last year as i live in Norfolk, it's such a beautiful and peaceful house inside and out and can see why it was a favourite of the late queen
I just have to say, I really appreciate your annunciation. The pace, diction, and annunciation you use makes it a joy to listen to your narration. Thank you!
Julie…..one of the things i love about you. From what i can see you are true to yourself. Never, upitty or stuffy. Simply love. You deliver to us all such very interesting things about England, while never letting go of your heritage of being American. God bless you. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Sent from another American….Italian American woman
England? Why do Americans always say England when the video is about the whole United Kingdom . The UK comprises Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, not just England. The monarch is not, as so many Americans seem to think, the Queen or King "of England ", but monarch of the whole of the UK.
I'd known about all of these, though I never knew Barnwell had a Montague association! Hopefully, whoever does end up buying it will appreciate its history!
Interesting.... I remember during my 1978 trip to England, we toured the grounds of the Tower of London. We were informed that the White Tower was still an official royal palace, although the last monarch to use it as a residence was Elizabeth I.
There are Crown properties that are classified as historical royal palaces. Technically, they are still official residences, but in reality haven't been used that way for some time.
Thank you, Julie, for this very informative presentation. I appreciate your reverence at mention of Queen Elizabeth II. The residences all look very stately and it would be lovely to tour those open to the public. Unfortunately, I reside in 🇨🇦 and will likely never have the opportunity. Instead, I very much watching your historical vlogs.
Breathtaking. I'm always fascinated by the cash to maintain (staff, upkeep of its physical structures) and whether all that is private or British tax payers foot much of the bill but get none of the benefits. At a human level, I'm also just in awe how many homes a family needs! My 1800 square foot rambler is a normal American 1950's home and just fine. It's hard to emotionally grasp someone calling several places "home" and whether you buy many of the same item for those creature comforts you want when you're in somewhere you call home (vs staying a hotel.) Of course, this fascination is one reason I fell in love with your show and now your TH-cam channel! :)
Most of these are owned by the Crown Estate not the Royal Family. Balmoral and Sandringham Estate are privately owned by the Queen. The Royal Family generate a lot of income and employ a lot of people and very little tax payers money is used
Thank you Julie! Best description of the Royal homes I’ve seen and I have searched many times to see which survived the Tudor era. Fascinating that Henry VII gifted the Montague family one! Wish you could buy it back! I always think of Thomas Wolsey when Hampton Court is mentioned and QE1 of course when Hatfield is mentioned.
I’d love to know more about the Bagshot Park - its interior and especially, its intricate wood arts and further history. And if I may add, St. George’s Chapel, it is where Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Helen, The Countess of Wessex got married too. Now, the Royal couple been married for over 23 years.
This was so interesting, Julie. Such beautiful homes, all of them. However, none of them is as beautiful as that dress you are wearing 🤗. As far as my favorite stately home goes- I have to say that Mapperton is my favorite of all the stately homes, and I love, love, love what you and Luke are doing with this gracious old soul of a house. Blessings to you sweetheart.
So interesting but I have a question- do the royals own all of these outright? I thought some was owned by the Royals and some like Buckingham are owned by the country. I absolutely love your dress today.
My favorite is HolyroodHouse because my 6th Great Grandfather, Capt. William Craig, Sr. was born there! Thank you for sharing these beautiful homes and palaces! Very educational! Loved seeing all of them! I wish your other family home wasn't being sold!
I've visited Highgrove a few times and it's my favourite. I've also been privileged to tour Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace. Some of the others, I've only seen in passing.
Never Say Never !. With how your TH-camd going. You are reaching all over the world. I'm from Fiji. Please keep at it and even across all forums of social media. I'm calling it beforehand. YOU WILL BE MAKING 8 FIGURES !. CLAIM IT. lol ❤😂🎉🎉🎉 Also: Thank You for being soo Kind with your mentions of Meghan. Your comment section is so kind as well. Clearly a reflection of You and your family being so classy and humble . ❤
I have just watched your Sudeley Castle video which was posted 2 years ago, and cannot get any others from before then to come up on my screen. Your videos are simply wonderful - I have loved every one, from learning all about Mapperton House, to your little house in Fivizzano, to the differences between British and American ways, your yoga videos, Christmas at Mapperton (now that we are coming in to the holidays again, I had to watch them all) - all of them! How do I get the ones before the Sudeley Castle video to come up? I am subscribed to your channel and since you have been on TH-cam for 8 years I know there is so much more to see!
Thank you so much for sharing this information with us. The knowledge of each property is amazing and gives us understanding of each property and how it was used over the years along with who dwelled there. Each property is so lovely and from a historical perspective they should all be maintained for generations to come. I certainly do 🎉wish you would have been able to purchase the property associated with Montague family but we understand 😢. Love ❤️ your channel and continue to inform us. You work so hard researching the subject matter and I know it is time consuming. ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
Viscountess I have enjoyed this interesting video. I'm sure there are many more than these that have fallen to ruins. That might be a good subject for one of your videos! Thank you again!
My favorite is and easy one. Llwynywermod, King Charles' home in Wales. The palaces are grand and I would love to tour them and even be able to stay a night or two, but Llwynywermod is a home I would happily live in. The renovations they made to the place are lovely, environmentally friendly, respect the history of the house and give it cozy, country charm. I think it's probably Charles' favorite residence to visit.
I really enjoyed learning about all the royal homes. There were some I have never heard of! My favourite is Windsor Castle for it's history, castle architecture, location and significance.
Hello AMerican Vicountess, Greetings from Washington DC! I just found your cook book the other day and I made my husband an amazing meal! It was so healthy and it tasted FABULOUS! Thank you! You have many talents.
Thank you so much for your videos. You are a wonderful representative of your family. I enjoy watching, and learning. I adore the person you are. Many Blessings, from Montana.
That was interesting. I kept thinking how easy it would be to be a squatter in one of those homes that are rarely occupied. 😅The massive amount of land that is attached to some of the residences is astonishing. Thank you for the lesson. 🏛
Wish you could buy it! Croxteth Hall used to be in our family until the last Earl died in 72, then it went to the Liverpool city council. I would give both legs to own and operate it.
That was really interesting! I'd love to know more about the cottages and lodges and holiday homes on the various estates. That is quite a portfolio. Gorgeous. I wonder why the Duke of Gloucester is selling Barnwell rather than just putting it back in the house-pool?
The duke hasn't lived there for many years and its been rented out. I believe he left as he was struggling to afford the upkeep on the house and estate. Maybe selling it to avoid his son having to pay inheritance tax.
Wow! That’s a lot! Curious - I wonder how many of these are owned outright by the Royal Family (like Sandringham) vs others like (Buckingham Palace) that are owned by the Crown Estate??
Some are owned privately, some by the Crown Estate (basically the UK Government), some by The Duchies of Cornwall (Prince of Wales)and Lancaster (The Monarch), and other trusts
I agree. It would nice to see a breakdown of specific ownership because Buckingham Palace is not owned by the Royal family as opposed to Sandringham and Balmoral which are. The lesser known properties would be interesting.
Love it! And your energy and presentation make it so engaging. However, may I ask the background music be lowered? It competes with your narration and quite distracting.
Julie, you could have mentioned that St. James Palace hosts diplomatic events because all ambassadors to the UK are accredited to "The Court of St. James." Also, I'm pretty sure that Buckingham Palace --like Windsor Castle -- is a Crown Estate owned by the nation. They are not the personal property of the Royal Family.
Thank you for the information. What is the palace that Prince Albert had built? I think it is on an island. The only palace I saw was Buckingham. I would love to see the others. Greetings from Canada.
You are thinking of Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Prince Albert bought it and then rebuilt it to his specifications for Queen Victoria. After her death it was gifted to the nation by Edward VII and is now run by English Heritage and is open to the public. You can actually hire parts of it for weddings and functions.
If only a very, very rich person would walk up and buy the Montague family house again and gift it back to all of you! Sounds so unbelievable but if the right person should read this and they have lots of money * yes, there are some super rich people who could do this and think nothing of it! Do not give up this dream that in some grand way it will all come back. It is not really asking too much. Thank you for this interesting and very educational information about the 30 -plus Royal Homes of the royals. The only thing is moving that much or just trying to stay in so many homes throughout the year could be quite confusing and pulling up your roots in that way is not always stabilizing the family.. But sharing it with your grown family and making sure extended and close family, all have places to live, is highly regarded.
Sorry to correct you , Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle are Not owned by the royals , the Queen had just two private propertys , Balmoral estate and Sandringham, everything inside royal residences is old handed down or gifted .
You may consider a charity to collect a fiat ot sudo tax on all sandwiches sold in England on the premises that your family owns the copyright to the name sandwich. All donations go to that charity to buy back the castle ok?

I would love some further detail on these estates as well.!
Agree will be stunning
Me too

I just have to say, I really appreciate your annunciation. The pace, diction, and annunciation you use makes it a joy to listen to your narration. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Love your lessons Julie! I had no idea there that many castles and houses are owned by the Royals. Thanks for your Saturday tutorials!
Their Not owned by the royals , Buckingham Palace and Windsor Palace are owned by the state ,
The UK is darn lucky to have you my dear.
Julie…..one of the things i love about you. From what i can see you are true to yourself. Never, upitty or stuffy. Simply love. It would be helpful to distinguish privately owned properties and state properties used by the Royal family. And which are simply museums
Interesting.... I remember during my 1978 trip to England, we toured the grounds of the Tower of London. We were informed that the White Tower was still an official royal palace, although the last monarch to use it as a residence was Elizabeth I.
That is what we were told the first part of August.
There are Crown properties that are classified as historical royal palaces. Technically, they are still official residences, but in reality haven't been used that way for some time.

The revenue from the Crown Estate, (rents and rates etc) all go into the public Treasury (ie the Government)
Most of these are owned by the Crown Estate not the Royal Family. Balmoral and Sandringham Estate are privately owned by the Queen. The Royal Family generate a lot of income and employ a lot of people and very little tax payers money is used
The profits from the Crown Estates properties are paid to UK Govt which, in turn, goes to the benefit of the taxpayer.
She had probably typo on prompter. In 1540 reigned of course Henry VIII.
Isn't this near where the Sackville-Bagginses and the Chubb-Bagginses live, near Hobbiton?.
Dumfries is my favorite ❤️ with all it's Chippendale furniture 🤩
Fabulous overview of all the beautiful royal castles and homes.
Beautiful castles, Julie. I enjoyed your explanation of each property. Thank you for this video
I love the information you provide.
My favorite is: Frogmore HOUSE.
Their version of a cottage cracks me up. Thank you for the explanation.
Thank you Julie, I loved this historical castle information ❤️
So interesting but I have a question- do the royals own all of these outright? I thought some was owned by the Royals and some like Buckingham are owned by the country. I absolutely love your dress today.
@@okienana11 yes I thought many of these were in the "Royal Trust" Only a few like Balmoral are owned outright.
Most are owned by the country only sandringham and balmoral are owned by king
My favorite is HolyroodHouse because my 6th Great Grandfather, Capt. William Craig, Sr. was born there!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful homes and palaces! Very educational! Loved seeing all of them! I wish your other family home wasn't being sold!
So many!! And all unique and beautiful. Thank you, Julie.
I only watched this video to get a better look at that dress 🤩 that dress is beautiful!
I've visited Highgrove a few times and it's my favourite. I've also been privileged to tour Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace. Some of the others, I've only seen in passing.

What an awesome vintage dress.
Hello! You forgot to mention Cumberland Lodge, Pembroke Lodge, Marlborough House, Adelaide Cottage, Shaw Farm and Victorian Lodge.
You are a little ball of energy …love you … you are a fountain of knowledge and I enjoy watching and listening to you

Viscountess I have enjoyed this interesting video. I'm sure there are many more than these that have fallen to ruins. That might be a good subject for one of your videos! Thank you again!
Only just found your channel and have found it full of lovely information about the world of Royals
My favorite is and easy one. Llwynywermod, King Charles' home in Wales. The renovations they made to the place are lovely, environmentally friendly, respect the history of the house and give it cozy, country charm. Thank you for this video! It was great, in fact I am watching it twice❤
I really enjoyed learning about all the royal homes. There were some I have never heard of! My favourite is Windsor Castle for it's history, castle architecture, location and significance.
Always such a great history lesson whenever we watch you. Love all the information you share with us 😍😘
Thank you Viscountess Consort Julie for explain the royal residents used by the Royal Family.
She's not a "Consort".
Julie very good video regarding the different Royal Palace.
Hello AMerican Vicountess, Greetings from Washington DC! I just found your cook book the other day and I made my husband an amazing meal! It was so healthy and it tasted FABULOUS! Thank you! You have many talents.
There were a lot i didnt know about. Thanks for the education!

I hope you can do a tour of each one so exciting to me I love a little rock cottage.
Absolutely fabulous, SO interesting, great photos, thanks , Julie
Really enjoyed watching this, lots of new info! Thanks so much 👏👏👏😊🙏
That was interesting. I kept thinking how easy it would be to be a squatter in one of those homes that are rarely occupied. 😅The massive amount of land that is attached to some of the residences is astonishing. Thank you for the lesson. 🏛
Always wanted to know ! Thank you so much❤
Yay an extra video today! ❤
Wish you could buy it! Croxteth Hall used to be in our family until the last Earl died in 72, then it went to the Liverpool city council. I would give both legs to own and operate it.
Your videos are so fresh! Just like your haircut! Love your channel! 👑🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thank you so much!!
Wonderful video. Most interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it
Loved this video, so interesting and educational!
Ok there was a few I didn't even know about. Great episode Julie! Thank you.
They all are so beautiful!
Wonderful video! But you forgot Osborne House
Thanks!
thank you so much!
This was great -thank you !!
I only visited Windsor casle, but it was amasing during Cristmas time, a huge tree, a lot of armor? nice grounds. I loved it .
Maybe selling it to avoid his son having to pay inheritance tax.
thank you, i love your channel because of you, your interactions with your family and the history you share.
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful, Julie. Thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Love Kensington. Haven't been there in person yet but love the photos.
Omg Dalphin House I love it .
You didn’t mention Adelaide Cottage 😉
Yes, too much of H&M 🙄
Very Educational !!!
Waiting patiently for the it🤩😍👍 all the way from 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲 zambia
Well done!
Absolutely loved this.
This was fun!
Julie.. thanks for such wonderful information on the royals.👏🏻💕

so amazing, so many beautiful homes and prince harry got a former servant's abode when he got married.
Brilliant vlog
Love it! And your energy and presentation make it so engaging.
However, may I ask the background music be lowered? It competes with your narration and quite distracting.
Give me the cute homely little Ivy Cottage any day over any of the huge palace’s.
But Meghan complainned of all the residences she was offer to live in. No one was enough for her!
Love this video.
If all your followers invested £32,000 each we could buy the house and be part owners with you Julie;)
Julie, you could have mentioned that St. James Palace hosts diplomatic events because all ambassadors to the UK are accredited to "The Court of St. James."
Also, I'm pretty sure that Buckingham Palace --like Windsor Castle -- is a Crown Estate owned by the nation. They are not the personal property of the Royal Family.
I think I would like to visit Sandringham House or the Castle of Mey. Also Highgrove is just beautiful and I would love to see Birkhall as well.
Who am I kidding? The answer is ALL of them! 🤣
Thank you for the information. What is the palace that Prince Albert had built? I think it is on an island. The only palace I saw was Buckingham. I would love to see the others. Greetings from Canada.

I never heard of Craigowan Lodge but I really like it.

Wow. Those houses are almost as expensive as a tract home here in California! Lol.
You forgot Rideau Hall in Ottawa Canada. 🇨🇦
They certainly own a lot of palaces, homes and cottages!!
Yes, between The Crown and the Royal Family - they sure do!
Major Omission - She failed to say that St.James's Palace is the senior palace, and that foreign missions are accredited to the Court of St James's
Love it. Didn't know they own a lot.
And we haven't even talked about the houses they own overseas, commercial property or London properties they own and manage or lease.
Love your dress
Sorry to correct you , Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle are Not owned by the royals , the Queen had just two private propertys , Balmoral estate and Sandringham, everything inside royal residences is old handed down or gifted .
I’d love to see a map (aerial view) showing these estates
You may consider a charity to collect a fiat ot sudo tax on all sandwiches sold in England on the premises that your family owns the copyright to the name sandwich. All donations go to that charity to buy back the castle ok?
Secret garden it is..
I knew they had a lot of residences, but not that many.
My favorite is Balmoral
