Thanks, for sharing these wonderful videos! I've always been mesmerized by learning about all the homes, the history of the families, who at present and past have owned these historical masterpieces. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas to both you and your family! :)
Done. I love these videos. On Dad's side, I am mainly English and Scottish, so I enjoy learning the history of the UK. My ancestors were probably the peasant class. I was a history major in college, and have always loved history, so I learn a lot from watching the videos.
I love the attitude that you don't"own" the houses, but are duty bound to preserve the place for the next generation. So refreshing in a "throw away" world
There is so much in a 1,300 year old history. I think you made a great point that these homes are not museums. They are still lived in and still preserving the legacy of who lived there before them.
I AM SO HAPPY I CAME ACROSS THIS SERIES, AND IT WAS COOMPLETELY BY CHANCE, I LOVE OLD HOUSES AND ESTATES BUT WAS UNDR THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY ALL BELONGED TO THE NATIONAL TRUST AND ALTHOUGH BEAUTIFUL AND INTRESTING TO LOOK AT COLD AND IMPERSONAL,
Deans Court is such a beauty. What strikes me about the owners (protectors & preservers) of these hugely important historic houses, is the tangible living passion which drives them on.
As an American obsessed with all things British, this series is so much fun! I feel like she asks questions and points out what so many of us Americans would ask.
WORTH WATCHING. Sometime ago, when I scrolled my telephone back in a double take at her grinning picture with a lopsided tiara on her head (from moving it toward the speaker, I found) she had me. Open, warm, inviting and authentic, her Viscount made the best decision in his life choosing her.
I agree with you completely. Watching these and the Mapperton videos have become one of my wife and myself guilty pleasures. We love to have a good glass of wine and watch both. They have first class production value and I love the history.

She is of the aristocracy, but she is still so refreshingly American. I love it. A woman who knows the seriousness of her position, but has not lost her essential self. I’m sure her husband must adore that. After all, if he wanted the “proper” English rose, he would not have married her, but he did marry someone that suits him. I love it!! I only wish Meghan had been allowed to be herself.
She wasn’t interested in our history! She’s been nothing but trouble ! She’s a bully! Glad she’s gone! Shame nutmeg didn’t ask for help from this lady!
Lmao the royal family isn't exactly known for being nice and inviting of strangers. Meghan did well moving away. At least now she has a chance to be happy.
Meghan has been her narcissist self all along, please don’t taint Julie with the likes of Harry’s wife. Both traitors to HMTQ but unforgivable from Harry. Even though Canadian and stuck listening to their “private” lives endlessly and in such a positive way by our media, neither should be accepted back in the UK in any working capacity, ever!! They can’t be trusted. Love your TH-cam channel and everything you provide for our pleasure, entertainment and historical references for those of us having a thirst for knowledge ♥️🇨🇦

This is just breath taking to see and try and take in the 1300 years of British/English history! It is also lovely to see it being exquisitely maintained! what a huge responsibility! I cannot wait to see the next instalment!
And that is why Americans so love British history and all the estates and houses. The length of years they have been on the planet. Intriguing, interesting and admirable. All the long threads of different people incorporating that history! Gotta love it. I love the Bible scripture that reminds me of this..."1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses..." Hebrews 12:1
This is my favorite so far of the series because you go into one of these majestic homes. You really help us to feel the stories inside the walls. I'd love more home interiors in future episodes. Great job, everyone. These videos are so well produced!
I’m so glad you’re filming these again! I get so much enjoyment from seeing these beautiful homes and learning about their history. What an extraordinary home and equally extraordinary historic family. It's a real joy to see the series reborn. The struggle to get to this point after the original series was canceled has paid off. You can see Julie is extremely pleased and grateful to be doing what she loves again. Well done Julie. This woman never gives in. If I had just half of the energy she has.....haha I cringe when old and or historic documents are touched without gloves on. Natural oil, lotions, and other debris on our hands damage documents over time. That said the documents here could have been recreations of the original. Cheers.
Beautiful ❤️! You can see the love and hard work it takes and has taken for the upkeep! Lovely! Thank you Julie and your camera team for sharing this video and all of your videos 🙂❤️!
Now I’m wondering about the destruction of the monastery and what became of those inhabitants. To me that was a sad part of Tudor history. No doubt there were some that had a bad reputation but others provided services to the poor and needy.

That family room is so interesting. Mapperton has the kitchen where the family hangs out, but here there is a range and kitchen table, and then soft sofas, and a big antique mirror. I'm wondering if the kitchen became the family room because the rest of the house is so cold.
I remember going to the house in the 70's and having to walk around the holes in the kitchen floor. I was asked to help sell produce from the garden. Must have been a garden open day.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video! At the beginning when you were driving, it reminded me of something I've always been curious about. I imagine the traffic laws are very similar to the ones here in the U.S., but was it tempting, early on, to feel as though you were on the "wrong" side of the road and attempt to correct? I think I would be second guessing myself quite a bit until I got used to it, left vs. right hand turns particularly.
Love it! Thank you for sharing! Interesting while watching received a call from my SIL who's father is a Hanham stating they couldn't visit for Thanksgiving because he is in his last days.. ironic.
Thank you for this fascinating glimpse into history. You'll have to make an episode about the ghosts, because there is no way this house isn't haunted!
That story was heart wrenching, for all involved. But that poor boy was a victim from the beginning and the sleep deprivation alone would've been enough to drive him mad. Beautiful home though, and incredibly fascinating history
I AM UTTERLY AMAZED....WHERE DO YOU FIND THESE PLACES????? I ALWAYS THUGHT I HAD QUITE A VAST KNOWLEDGE OF COUNTRY HOUSES AND ESTATES ONLY TO REALISE I KNOW NOTHING.....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL SERIES, YOU HAVE OPENED A UNNOWN WORLD OF ABSOSOLUTE WONDER AND BEAUTY TO ME. THANKS AGAIN
