Nimona is the epitome of how as a queer person the act of being yourself is in of itself a rebellious act.

I love how ND Stevenson sounds so happy in his transition, making Nimona, an implied transgender analogy, into shapeshifting. It really just helps with Ballister and Ambrosus, with their lovestory.

Love how Eugene talks about Ambrosus, and how Ballister’s relationship forms.

The graphic novel was one of only two books in the entire library at my Catholic highschool with any kind of queer representation, it was such an object of comfort for me in my years of questioning, and I am so completely beyond grateful that this film saw the light of day

Amazing interview! Love these guys!! Delving deep into the history of the film, why it got made and the themes that mean so much to so many people, make this one of the most special animated movies ever.

24:35 It is crucial for us as a society to understand that energy is merely borrowed and must eventually be returned. Therefore, we should strive to leave things in the same condition, if not better than they were before.”
