With a compact 177m2 space, the home preserves the front bedrooms while introducing an open-plan living area and a multipurpose room. Plume's minimalist garden design complements the house, while clever joinery and sliding mechanisms ensure versatile living spaces.
The intentional design choices evoke a sense of calm and uncluttered elegance, reflecting the client's affinity for minimalist architecture and creating a serene sanctuary.

I like how they spoke about footprint. People don't need to live in huge spaces. They can have just enough.
'Small' and 'huge' really relies on context, for a lot of people around the world, this is huge, but by Australian standards, it is compact given family size.
Goals as a minimalist. Have a house with barely anything in it. ❤
This. THIS. Finally a design I can completely relate to!!!! I live alone, and my kitchen has nothing on the counters except for dish soap and occasionally a rag, if I'm not using the dishwasher (just learned how to use one last year they are godsends! 😂)
But this is EXACTLY how I keep my apartment! I am a painter and drawer, and I really just like nothing.. No wall hangings, no meaningless decorations- just all function. I keep my art put away, but thinking of showcasing some surreal drawings here and there- maybe rotating them in seasons. I like everything blank! I love this home sooo much!! I was lucky enough to be given a flat stove too during renovations...that contributes so much to the minimal feel. Love this!! ❤❤❤

Great simple clean house design. Bold to show house in the cloudy weather! I appreciate that. But being myself family of 4, I know that not all rooms look that clean ;) It is true and normal to show some life (laying personal things), I am talking specially to architects, which tend to present interiors "lifeless". Thanks from Norway for another great video.

This was a special project for the architects, as the clients also enlisted their service to source all the furniture and decor you saw in the video. It was filmed two days before they moved in, but I envision what you saw is how they'll live.
As for the kids, they are teenagers.
My house is always neat and tidy. That's just how some people live. I also don't have kids though. Every item has a dedicated spot and it goes back there after every use.
@@kaan-tubeI am the same exact way. I live alone, and have decluttered my kitchen to look exactly like this. Nothing on the counters except for dosh soap and maybe a rag. I've lived this way for at least a year, and it brings me so much joy! I just enjoy looking at nothing on surfaces. It's lived-in to me! :)
@@andrewvhoang There are families with small children who also live like this. Not sure why people are having a difficult time grasping that everyone doesn’t live in a cluttered home. These people do not appreciate or understand minimalist design.

Beautiful home and consistent throughout with white, light wood veneer applications. Though it would take a bit of discipline to open / close the TV cabinet if you’re a heavy Netflix viewer (ie I worry about the longevity of the joinery)
Good point re. joinery, but I suspect the cabinet will stay open 99% of the time except when they host parties which don't involve the TV.
Those curtains sure seem to get a lot of action 😄

However, I don't understand: in Australia you have a somewhat strange idea of low environmental impact. How does a house of almost 180 square meters have a low impact? A 4-person house but with three double bedrooms, two living rooms and a swimming pool.
Even the house in the previous video... A sustainable house of 200 square meters? Sure.
Beautiful anyway, no question about it. It is the hypocrisy of some designers that bothers me.
Beautiful design, however I can not get past how significantly high the kitchen upper cabinets are. The gentlemen in the first video scene needs an elevator or very tall ladder to get to the shelving in the uppers. Is there something in the design not shown that helps overcome this height issue such as pull-down shelving or built-in step stools? Functionality and aesthetics need to have the appropriate balance to be considered good design.

Sad to see another house and concrete paving built almost to the boundary, leaving little room for vegetation. Garden at front probably a zoning requirement.
I see their aims and they met it. however I personally would die of boredom in that house.

nice project, in practical living people doesn't close tv cabinet doors every time that feature is just waste of money
I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of money. Yes, they do stay open 95% of the time, but it’s nice to close them off if hosting a dinner party or having friends over and don’t want a big blank tv as a focal point in the room.
@@SimpleDwelling just switch off the tv, when people having good talks each other who don't care tv is focal point. this is home not for guests. minimalism is not about a hidden features it's have to economical and sustainable. less is more
I would be the 1% that closes the door every time. I put everything away when I'm done using it! I like my space blank when I come home! It's an every day cleaning task, but it's also my habits that keep me happy :)

@@SimpleDwelling I think about just some colours. Part of a wall, maybe some tiles, or furniture, piece of art, or just posters? Or textile add-ons. Maybe just plants with flowers. They need to be quite bright, pastel to fit the "calmness". And give eyes some lively spot. This house has great atmosphere, but it's like a nice textured paper with base colours and just waits for a few splats and strokes of watercolour.
