    OMG you super lucky munchkin!!! I would have wet my pants just to be invited!!! It is beyond amazing, and I remember reading the article some time ago when she decided to add the water pool, rill or whatever it is called. Thanks so very, very much for sharing this with us. I am gob smacked!!!

      Thank you for joining in on my super day. Yes, I prefer the Alhambra type rill too although I only know the previous lawn from books

    The truly amazing thing is the plant combining and design skills so beautifully demonstrated here. To take such a large quantity of diverse and exotic species, hybrids, etc., and create such a pleasing tableau in a circumscribed space is a marvel to behold. Trying to identify all the plants herein could be the first TH-cam challenge for gardeners! You must have been in seventh heaven. :)

      Yes, I totally agree, John. Helen doesn't mess around with 'collections' of interesting plants, nursing the sick and giving others time to establish like many of us do (myself included). Every plant in her garden must constantly work to earn its right to remain. Thank you for watching and your thoughtful comments.

    This garden is interesting to look at in terms of the plant list, but it's too chaotic, noisy, and even tacky at places. I love your garden far more because it has a theme and different tidy "rooms" that create an enchanting flow and feeling of endlessness.

    Now that is an incredible achievement, but perhaps exactly what you would expect really, from an icon and the Matriarch of gardening in Ireland.

    Wow!! Lovely vid. Can you recommend some perennials that will grow in partial shade\shade and provide colour?and also some for bad soil. When should I plant agapanthus and allium bulbs? And what conditions are necessary?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter. I would plant agapanthus in a pot to get it going. Alliums can be down in autumn in the ground. Hope this helps.
