I honestly can't remember when I discovered Lambchop, but they quickly moved towards the top of my music collection. Kurt has the most soulful voice. I'm still very suspicious that I've never seen him and Morgan Freeman in the same place at the same time...
It’s Johnny Cash all over to me but then who am I ! Respect to you for sharing your stories like the man in black. Love to listen to anyone for the first time so thank you Kurt Wagner and Tiny Desk.
I _think_ I was first introduced to Lampchop in 2002 (sounds about right...) - in New Zealand at Bar Bodega (the new version, upstairs - after the motorway extension forced the move of the original by Aro Street (will have exact info somewhere in storage) - had heard about them for years (long story) - first time actually hearing the music - wow, just wow - WOW
No clue how I’m only just now seeing this! Lambchop has been one of my favorite bands for years and years.. I truly believe Kurt Wagner is a genius of his time
"sorry to have been a disruption in your day" - I don't - wow - words fail me - such a lovely, talented, humble man - haven't heard ANY of these songs before - love them all, especially that last one
I bought Nixon with a large Mexican magic mushroom in London when it was still legal. Ate the shroom. Listened. Been in love with this sound and personality ever since
I definitely have some of the books on that shelf. Probably some of the CDs on the shelf too but I can't see them close enough. This guy's a nervous wreck and a beautiful genius. Whatever, I'm still not going back to Nashville. I might go back to D.C. though, take a look at those CDs...
i might have been at that same yo la tengo show if it was in dc in the mid 90s. i didn't know who lambchop was then. my fave lambchop show was at iota in arlington around the time of oh c'mon and no you c'mon.
Why is that lad with the glasses slipping himself into the videos . I credit his idea of the tiny desk concert but what's the point in coming in asking stupid questions
Wonderful songs, and infectious smile. I believe in Kurt, and I believe in Lambchop.
Even without the band, Wagner's music is a world unto itself.
You are absolutely correct.
The guy is just brilliant.
Love is so simple. God is good for giving us Lambchop.
I just discovered Lambchop just about a month ago even though I thought I was "in the loop" with so-called alt country. Wow, what a revelation!
I saw Lambchop live at the Dakota in Minneapolis a few years ago. A casual fan, they just blew me away.
He's got such a lovely style of guitar playing, percussive and melodic at the same time.

I saw these guys open for either Yo La Tengo or Built to Spill about a decade ago. Awesome live band.
Truly excellent guitar playing and a talented song writer as well.

How? The guitar playing.... How?..... (incredible)
Duranarts Indeed! I have always loved what he brings as a vocalist and writer to Lambchop. I had no idea he was such a bad-ass on the guitar, too.
This was good. Thanx for uploading. A pleasure to watch and listen to.
I really enjoyed that
Superb Dylan's cover!!!!
Nothing to dislike.
I believe in Yall!

PopPop Downwiththeenemy if you cant make it to D.C, you can always read a book by George Pelecanos
Don Williams!! Was hoping for Lord I Hope This Day Is Good but this'll do just fine.
i might have been at that same yo la tengo show if it was in dc in the mid 90s. i didn't know who lambchop was then. my fave lambchop show was at iota in arlington around the time of oh c'mon and no you c'mon.
1946 Gibson L7, with an added DeArmond pickup.
Look at this guy playing with his entire right hand!
I love Kurt Wagner (well, not literally....)
HELL BOY!!!!!!!
Tim Burgess of the Charlatans brought me here and what a wonderful find Lambchop and Kurt are.
después de tiempo escucho a LAMBCHOP
No 'My Blue Wave'? Wow.
@Omnimorph took a second before i got this; couldn't stop laughing. you made my day.
I believe that the original lyric is about the rising cost of getting by, not the rising cost of getting high.
Those sirens really work over the last song. Somebody needs to accompany him on a saw next time he performs that!
Alas, a video with no dislikes
hehe score on the Dylan cover:)
National Talk Like a Ninja Day would be pretty quiet.
Anyone else here because you saw Sabrina Carpenter was on Tiny Desk and you remembered Tiny Desk used to be for independent/folk artists?
😘🧜🏿

Where my Lava Lampers at whoot whoot...

I like the part where he sings and plays the guitar and everything in between. But that's the only part I liked. =P
S.O.U.L
How can you not know who Don Williams is?
Even I know who Don Williams is and I don't know who Don Williams is!!
Those guys didn't know Don Williams? Even I know who Don Williams is and I'm not even american.
What kind of guitar is that?
Dylandude89 Looks like some kind of Gibson archtop. No idea on the model, though.
Dylandude89 That sweet tone, though!
Dylandude89 Maybe some kind of old L5?
this guy did x-men??
Haha.. different Kurt Wagner.. that one is a fictional character
Why is that lad with the glasses slipping himself into the videos . I credit his idea of the tiny desk concert but what's the point in coming in asking stupid questions
Kurt, trim those guitar strings next time please! The "thwang" "thwang" sound keeps coming through in my headphones every time he hits it.
it adds character to the proceedings
