Chetta,I suggest Kia Carnival or Ford Endeavour as the best 8 seater for you.
Personally I’m not much of an MG fan. Being essentially a Chinese product, like you said few quality issues are expected. Also, footboard is not advisable for a Crossover, as they are already low, so will scrape the bumps on the road. Footboards are standard in body on frame type vehicles as the height is more and so difficult to climb in otherwise.
Two good choices for you, will be the TATA Gravitas (Harrier based 7 seat SUV) and Kia Carnival. Both are good cars.
Hector is not a crossover, its a compact suv, also this is not manufactured in china. Even tata uses parts from china, so please stop spreading hate about this brand.
Tell me your definition of a crossover. A crossover is a sedan on stilettos. Meaning a tall car. (A crossover between a wagon and a car - or a tall wagon on car suspension) It’s not even an SUV. They just call it an SUV due to the wagon like shape. A True SUV is something which is body on frame, basically a truck, which is used more for off-road purpose. Whether manufactured in China or not, MG is owned by Chinese company SIAC, which is its parent company. Also, what I said was entirely my opinion. Not compelling you to believe it or agree to it.
Hector can't be called as a real SUV, may be a high end crossover. But still a cross over.

(as u see fit) Like a Innova. Though the innova is more qualified for SUV title as it is body on frame, though no 4WD.

I’m absolutely dissatisfied with MG Hector for it’s driving performance and experience. The lag while you press the gas is disastrous, especially during overtaking.
I strongly agree to this. Hector Automatic series got this lag while you press the gas, because of this we cannot trust this car for quick overtaking.
