Lee is sooooo versatile! He can sing a pop song, rock song or something a little more classical like this. He's also an amazing show singer. He has to win it!!
Josh Groban rocks and this is one of the most beautiful and heart-moving songs ever! Lee has a very good voice - it must be really difficult and nerve-wrecking to sing a singer with the singer who wrote it!! (at least I think he wrote it anyway lol)
Did anybody actually listen to this song? After about the first minute and a half, Lee can't stay on key. He gets worse as it goes on. Just listen to the duet parts, it's harsh on the ears. You can tell from the beginning Lee's voice is very nice, but he loses his way as the song progresses. I felt bad for both Groban and Lee -- Lee must have realized it and been trying to hard on stage, his heart sinking as he realized he wasn't on par. He'll be fine in the future, but this was rough.
I don't find Josh Groban's voice sexy at all. He has a great voice, but there's no warmth/texture to it. When you compare the two voices in this duet, Lee does have a warmth to his voice and it's very expressive. When he sings the line "I am strong when I am on your shoulders..." I get goosebumps! To be honest, I couldn't care less about the 'technical' side of the singing, as long as I like the end result - and I like the end result that Lee produces! It's distinctive and powerful!
No it was called 'Any Dream Will Do' televised here in the UK.Andrew LLoyd Webber and a panel of judges put through a selection auditionees for the lead in a remake of 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat'and once through to the televised rounds ALW and the public whittled it down to the winner Lee Mead.They had a previous show last year to choose a lead for the remake of 'Sound of Music'
Well, I DO have to give Lee a little credit. His voice got more of an operatic ring to it, than Josh's (even though, as the little grobanite I am, I still love the latter more). It's a little á la José Cura or perhaps David or Sebastien from Il Divo. But it's obvious that he's not used to performing in public. He swallows the first and last word in each line he sings.
I think they are both just amazing, though Lee will learn much with vocal training. Have to say.....that Lee......totally stirs my heterosexual tendensies. LOL Josh=cute, most definately, extraordinary talent. Lee=drop dead georgous, b-e-a-utiful. Just my 2cents worth.
Did anyone else think Lee kind of sounded a bit like Kermit the frog for a bit there? Or like he had a frog in his throat? Almost a Michael Buble-esque throatiness there. I'm not a big fan of the Kermit sound... so Josh is still #1 in my book.
oh man I totally disagree. I think Josh Groban's voice is SOO much sexier. Its like a hot knife melting butter! Breathiness is caused by letting too much air past your vocal chords, I don't think its all that sexy, its poor vocal technique. But thats just me. I think its funny how much people dislike my comment. Im not saying he's got a bad voice, I'm just saying that when u put them together, it just makes him seem bad compared to Josh

yeah josh is a million times better than that guy Lee. Josh's sound is so natural, while the other guy's singing sounds forced.
They're both amazing singers, but I think Lee's voice is smoother personally. However, I'd happily listen to either of them =] x
