I am so pleased to see from this video that nothing has changed. You describe a place we both want to revisit. I could not stand to eat a pizza until I had one in Sicily. Lovely memories. Everywhere i go in italy i get frustrated with the trash situation. I remember a very hot day in rome, trying to find a local park to chill out, every park covered in litter. Its like the italians just arent bothered with these little details in amongst the beauty of their buildings. Its like their motorbikes, ducati, motoguzzi, aprilia, some of the most stunning and exciting to ride bikes, but they leak a little oil (aprilia), things fall off them (motoguzzi), mirrors dont work (ducati), bugger to work on, (ive had all of them!) but these are minor unimportant details. Yet i would always buy another.

I own a Ducati Scrambler and I love it. 40 years of motorcycle ownership and it’s my favorite but you are 100% correct. There’s little things that are irritating as you pointed out. But it’s awesome, call it character I guess. 😂
This is very true- the amount of litter and lack of care from the local councils to clean up surprised us.
I love the bike comparison and I agree… and I would also still buy one regardless!😆🇮🇹
In the north of Italy we have locations that are almost perfect for quality of the life, cleanliness and absence of criminality. Nice but a bit annoying!

@@GraaY94 I'm just North of The Tay and my usual roads are now covered in slimy leaves. I managed the A93 through Glenshee (coffee and leg stretch in Braemar), Sth Deeside Rd, Cairn o Mount, through Edzell then Blairgowrie back to Perth on Oct 1st. Decent dry day but the likes are now too treacherous and my bike is a bit too heavy pick up off the floor these days - I'm 60, been riding for decades and can give up no problem!! Enjoy...

Thanks Robert! Oil change done because that’s the only thing I could communicate- it really needs a full service, so must be done before Christmas (it really deserves it)

Yep I think they do- there were a lot of Triumphs in Sicily (all from 2008 onwards- nothing older, for some reason)

Hey freddie/ M make sure you visit Valencia city and cycle tour. Have visited most of Europe but Spain is my go to. If it weren’t for Brexit I would be living there, has so much contrast in short distances. I cant describe my jealousy in a nice way😁

This is exactly our position- we always end up going back to Spain and it’s turned into our go-to place. I’m really excited to visit Valencia, I’ve never been but have been told it’s every big as nice as Barcelona🙂
The Nissan Micra- we were watching in amazement! In the UK, people would be screaming and there would probably be some serious road rage/a fight afterwards. But in Italy, nothing- just carry on and move on🙂

With the climate the way it is now we should perhaps all be taking winter breaks, enjoying summer here.
We've done this for the last few years and it has a lot of advantages..
But Sicilia is not somewhere I'd thought about.

Property is surprisingly low for such a beautiful place, just a quick look on a European site shows some nice places in nearby Collesano, but don't tell everyone!

don't think that behind the rubbish you see in some Italian cities there is laziness or inefficiency: trash is a big business, even for many criminal associations and behind those piles of waste, there is often blackmail and threats linked to the entrustment of the collection

Aww Monica that's the worst it's one of my pet "excuse the pun ''' hates so between the white speedos and the overflowing rubbish bins it's a no go for me 😄.so looking forward to the MotoGp that's a wow fer me .👌👍
You may struggle in Italy as there are quite a few speedos and dog mess too😆 Friday morning I pack the Bonneville up for the ride to Valencia- cannot wait!!
Another great vlog, Freddie. Monika's got the videography off to a tee. I've only been to one MotoGP and that was in Mugello in 2019 (Pecco Bagnaia won). I bet you'll have a fantastic time in Valencia, especially since you're being hosted by Michelin. Looks like Pecco will be champion this year.
If you or Monika will be spending any time in Barcelona, be very aware of pickpockets, especially on the underground. I fell victim last time I was there.

What a wonderful land... but do not forget that in this place sometimes occures earthqueques, i have some friends there who had to flee in pyjamas from their houses more then one time... bye the way I too experienced earthqueqe in 2009 near Rome, it was 6, 2 level, all were twisting in our hotel room...

I lived in Italy for 15 years and when they made seat belts compulsory you could find people selling t-shirts with a black stripe across the body that made it look like you were wearing one. Just one small example of Italian life

Beautiful that beach puts Blackpool beach to shame plus I too have fell in love with the Bonniville especially the bobber black, 2018 and I saw the car that nearly took out the biker and his passenger I'm not quite sure who was at fault 😳
2018 Bobber Black- one of the coolest bikes on the market! Add some ape bars and forward foot controls and that’s pretty much my dream bike!🤩
This is the thing with Italian driving- it’s very hard to understand who’s fault it is, as no one follows any rules😆

You are spot on about Italy freddie, I was there last week in rome and every street you walk down has a restaurant a shop with a beautiful window display a few old fiat 500's and lots of rubbish left outside some of which looked like had been there a while, Still love the country though its a bellissimo.

This vid inspired a thought... I think I need to take my Alfa Romeo Brera on a road trip to Brera in Milan. And then prob travel across the south of France before heading North back home...

But for the rubbish, I love Sicily. I'm not going to fret, you are going to my Wife's (Isa):) country. Some of her family is around Barcelona and I drove through Valencia circa 78. That beach water resembled my childhood haunts. Laughing at Monika's speedo capture.
Ahhhh I bet that was a fantastic road trip, and before many of the huge motorways too! It feels very nice to be in Barcelona- very possibly my favourite city🙂

Just a thought or perhaps it’s a question for you Freddie. Is there a reason you don’t have Monika’s name in the credits on your vlogs. Afterall, she does such a great job with all the filming etc, surely she deserves some recognition 😁. I am so glad to have seen some footage of Sicily, as it’s a place I have often wondered what it might be like. I nearly went there some years ago but didn’t in the end.
