Thank you so much! I have been trying to see where all the screws were on my mower but it's very full of grass. Lol
I have always heard that when you tip it over on the side just put the oil on top. Unfortunately now all the gas leaks out the cap. I only found four screws in mine and the top in the very middle seems to still be attached. So I will go back and see if I can find that middle screw today after work. Thank you so much for a very clear shot of your lawn mower and all the extra tips you gave. I have looked up so many videos you don't even know. Some of them were useless.

LOL! Good question! I would say that grease and dirt (to a limit) is usually better than soap and water for lawnmower parts and components. If you do wash it just make sure to always dry thoroughly. Because rust is the #1 enemy.

thank you so much my right wheel stop turning and I adjust the wheel and it still wouldn't work this help so much.
I had this issue today on my first mow of the spring (I live in Vegas). The sun was starting to set and I have company coming over tomorrow. I didn't have time for this fancy repair and so decided to mow on just the two back wheels as my front yard isn't really that large. After I was mowing for a very short time the front wheels started to turn. I'm not saying this would be the case for everyone but thought I would add my comment here nevertheless.

Someone gave me the exact lawnmower. I thought the wheels were worn out and not turning. Didn't know it's propel by motor. I'm going to go fix it now. Thanks!

Just replaced traction control cable is 10 minutes. But you have to make sure you but offset instead of circular one with spring on the end.
Just sid maintenance on mine and now it wont propel. I will try this video! Thanks. Will update

Great video! Wheels stopped turning when I engage the plastic handle. I replaced the belt now experiencing the following- wheels do not turn when "belt wire" is positioned correctly but wheels turn when right side of "belt wire" is under belt or not inserted correctly. Can mower be used without "belt wire"? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for the video, quick question - when the self propulsion is not engaged, I still feel a slight hesitancy when I turn the wheels- is this normal? The belt is completely loose when I feel this hesitancy. Thank you for your time
the bearings/gears probably need to be cleaned and lubed
My craftsman has the same self propellsion system as this and the issue I'm having is it barely pulls you, it works but barley and all the gearing on the wheels and axles are fine, do you think I need to tighten the belt

question - the fwd on my craftsman works when i tilt it up, but does not have any torque to pull when the wheels touch the ground. is that a belt issue?
Maybe. But I would first check the pastic gear that is part of the inside of the front wheels, it could be stripped. It could be a bad transmission also.

When you take the cover off the drive assembly you can see it can be clogged with grass clippings and debris. Do you have any suggestions to prevent this design flaw? I'm trying to MacGyver a shield to prevent all the lawn clippings from congregating in there and causing trouble. I'm thinking some gasket material or maybe a coffee can cut to fit. There are a couple of readymade screw holes on my Craftsman 970.

Meanwhile I have honda troy belt problem and I have to take 20 gazillion things off to fix it, and I don't have required tools to open it up. I hate companies that make it difficult to do maintenance.

Hi can you tell me how to remove the selfpropane control cable I have a craftsman 7.25 platinum mower with 2 cables attached in one piece and one is broken ,sadly I have no one to fix so I need to do by myself but don't know how ,please help me , thanks

It may need the updated front end replacement kit. It replace the whole black front plastic bumper
My belt keeps jumping off. Anyone.
sometimes the pulley groove gets crusted/jammed up with dried grass causing belt to jump off easily. OR a belt keeper is missing
