    My cls 2015 stuck in second gear and wont shift up. Solenoid valve suspected or if metal debris found then full engine replacement. That’s what I’ve been told

    Hi, if I open my transmission on my 2008 722.9 just to do this and clean the solenoids and and valves without replacing any, will it need to have a re adaptive procedures done with a dealer level scan tool or is that just if you replace a solenoid?

    • @86ortega
      @86ortega 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just replace the solenoid nothing else is
      needed

    • @JettaRedIII
      @JettaRedIII 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If you do not replace anything, adaptation is NOT required. However, not sure if you SHOULD do this if you are not having a problem. Removing the valve body is tricky on an older car if it has never been done. Play close attention to the video at 0:20 and see how the technician uses a plastic pry bar to push the connector down and out. If it sticks and you try to pull it out, it WILL break.

    I have a 2011 E350 with 7229 Transmission.
    1)When shirting from reverse to drive at times it appears to go into drive then downshifts.
    2) At times after going into drive and moving several feet another shift takes place.
    Dealer can not get a DTC. This only occurs while in the "E" mode, at all temperatures.
    Dealer states I/m not allowing enough time when going from brake to gas.
    Are they any fault codes which would note a delay is NOT being allowed?
    The value boy was changed out, the problem disappeared for several thousand miles, then came back. Another YT video takes about cleaning the solenoids. Your thoughts.

      Just out of curiosity, but what wound up being the solution on this? And when you say valve body was changed out, do you mean that an entirely new one from the dealer AND conductor plate was done?

    • @builder229
      @builder229 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alextorkelson I am doing a similar replacement, the transmission in the mechanical portion i/e not the valve body portion. I ended up finding a replacement for around 1400, then going to keep the conductor place and tcu, swap the valve body and replace all of the solenoids.

    • @builder229
      @builder229 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alextorkelson ah, sorry I did not tag my guess to the answer. My best guess is little bits of metal are jammed inside the valves at the end of the valve body preventing it to read proper pressure or temperature and it seeing it after the fact causing a hard or delayed shift.

    Hi
    Very helpful video.do we need coding or programming when you replace 2 or all solenoids?
    Thank you

      do you need to program if you replaced a solenoid?

    • @rickdalton4138
      @rickdalton4138 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, cause to replace the oil you need to know the temperature of your transmission, and in cases when transmission will work still bad you can do an adaptation on a your way with xentry program, it takes few hours but its like adaptation but with saving of old settings or replace a torque converter. It’s if your transmission driving bad but you don’t have any error codes. Dealer will never do it for you.

    My valve screens had aluminum particles, which a magnet wouldn't remove.

    • @thomascurry3930

      If valve body can be removed dip in 5 gallons of gas shake and watch the debris that comes out. After that submerge in new fluid replace in transmission. Do use gas to clean. No need to do anything but clean with something not do not use a cleaner. Its solid state stuff. Clean it real good with gas put it back in. I have a custom built one so I did it and it worked. Always have since Oldsmobile invented it. Keep your money.

    Great Video. Cleaned everything as described, did a total flush of system, including draining the TQ, problems solved. Cost?, just some time and 10 litres of Red TQF. Before you pay out a fortune on a new or revised ECU, just remove it and clean it, especailly where the plugs join into the circuit boards. The slightest bit of metal dust, however fine, will cause tracking and give your gearbox faults that in fact don't exist!....

    • @m60kaf
      @m60kaf 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Amer Alfaori Most likely stuck in limp home. Mercedes stopped dealers returning TCMs without approval. It's suspected this is because a lot were changing them when they weren't faulty and just needed basics doing like cleaning.
