    I have planned to take my first trip (alone) to Edinburgh in november and I can't stop watching your videos so much, I can't wait! 💕 They help me a lot to find little places to visit! I'm so excited to be there 🙈 Scotland is a beautiful country ✨

      I believe you will find your visit to Scotland to be a magical one. If you are a little bit outgoing (and I assume you are since you are willing to travel alone) you will find yourself surrounded by new friends. Scots are extremely friendly so be sure to ask them about what they consider worthwhile side trips. I never would have seen Rosslyn Chapel (and the village), the Falkirk Wheel (amazing Scottish engineering) or the Kelpies if not nudged to them by a local.
      Trust the public transports - they will serve well. If you find the Gorms playing at a pub - tell them Longfellow says 'hello'! Also if you have time and like to walk there is a lovely pedestrian path along the waters of Leith to a very special part of the town. It's a few kilometers from the New Town to Leith and there are wonderful food options there - I suggest you try Cullen Skink and cranachan - delicious Scottish dishes that few visitors try. Personally, I don't find the haggis meal appealing but you ought to sample it.
      I've been to Scotland many times - I owned a cottage outside Edinburgh for a while (pre-pandemic) so I have a visitors eye and a residents sensibility. Feel free to ask me if you're interested in my perspective.

    I visited these villages a few years ago and have wonderful memories. I was staying in Crail but I also saw the other coastal villages moving by bus. I watched the video with pleasure

    Great little visual on some of the coastal towns in Fife. Yet again, more to add to my list... thank you. I laughed at "This bridge is friggin' beautiful." LOL!

      St Andrews and Kirkcaldy (yes, I know). I dont know any of these little places but have heard about a couple of them. This is a GREAT little channel!
      Should be at least 10 times bigger.

      My parents favourite ever caravan site was in St Monans, it was literally just a small field just above the sea, with only room for 4 caravans. Sadly it is no more.

    There is a chance we gonna visit family in Edinburgh this autumn. Time to rewatch all your videos to make notes! XD
    (Never went across those bridges, first thing on my bucket list!)
    Thanks for all your videos during lockdown, you provided a short time without cabin fever every time. ^___^

      That's so exciting! Hope you have the bestest of times! Bridges-wise, you could at least make it to South Queensferry, which especially on a nice day seems like a really cute half-day trip, and you get amazing views of the bridges - but it's definitely one of those things I'd recommend for people who have "done all the basic touristy things" .)
      Thank you so much for still watching my content, I can only hope it's at least 50% as good as your wonderful art!

      Hmmm... Fife is a bit of a land of contrasts - certain parts are absolutely stunning, others... a lot less so x) I think the coast is a safe bet, including the coastal path and St Andrews, also Culross, but more inland I'd recommend Falkland, an absolutely stunning little town!

    Just out of curiosity, which cider is your favourite?

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right now I quite enjoy the Cidre Breton by Kerisac - but would love to try more french ciders to really find my true fave! I've also had a great dry cider from Prager, some time ago while visiting Czech Republic, really hoping to get my hands on that one again! .)

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SopherMcBeans I'd probably check out some of the "fancy beer spots" - Cornelius and Top Cellar on Easter rd, or Beerhive in Canonmills. I am not completely certain if they stock much cidre, but if I was looking for something less ordinary, that's where I would go! (I usually pick up the french one I mentioned in Oddbins! But I can't remember if they stock any other ones...)

    WOW! How beautiful! I'm surprised I've never heard of this region before. It completely breaks the image of Scottish towns being dull and ugly.
    It sounds like you drove the route. I'm wondering if it would be possible to do it by bus.
