I bought the Reolink cameras after your first review of their performance. I don't have them load to the cloud. I only have the SD cards in them and never need to pull them out of the camera. I watch all the videos on the cards directly from my phone. I currently have six cameras, three at my farm and three at home. They seem to work fairly well. I occasionally have problems connecting to them but not real often. Sometimes mine will miss some action but so far it hasn't been an actual problem. Thanks for the review. It definitely helped my decision making. 👍👍👍
Great video for someone looking for a remote camera setup. It seams to work very well for you. $ 48 /year is a very good price. Have a good weekend, Cheers, Mike
We don't have cell signal available and run solely off wi-fi. I don't back up to the Cloud, but use an SD card, and I'm able to remotely clear the SD card / reformat when I wish to do so. Very happy with our Reolink.
Thank you for the great video. I've been using Reolink cameras both at my house and off-grid cabin. I have the Argus PT at the cabin that only lasted a year and just stopped working. Had to biuy a new one. I have had issues with all of my Reolink cameras not capturing the vehicle or person that caused the trigger. My driveway camera will sometimes just catch the tail end of a vehcile as it passes. No matter how I setup the camera, there just seems to be too much of a delay to capture the object. I also wish they would keep caturing when triggered, but once they triger, they don't seem to trigger again for quite a wile. All that said, they are good cameras and I love the solar and cell features. Thanks for the video and have a Merry Christmas!!
Thanks Gord, good to have cameras around. I have 11 cameras around my property. The low to mid price range, is filled with very good camera ecosystems. Hope you have a great weekend.
Those are some very nice camera, I’ve been trying to fine some I could use on my property. I’ve have had a couple but never could get them to work properly. Guessing could be my phone not up to date .
Thanks for review GP , well done, didn’t realize how bad I was being abused by Nest lol ! , only one camera for almost $100.00 per annum. Although it has lasted for six years it’s time to look at Reo ! Savings will pay for itself and with 5 cameras , great deal, Thanks again
I have 2 Reolinks based on one of your prior reviews. Been great. I have 2 much more expensive Nest IQ Outdoor cameras and one has failed after only 2 years.
I have Reolinks at the Overlook, one inside and one outside. Overall, I've been very pleased. My cameras are powered (AC) and, thanks to our new fiber, record in "Clear" all the time. Best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season Gord. Peace, my friend. 🎄❄️⭐️
Hello GP! Thank you for your video on your security cameras. We have cameras all over our property, and they are handy. We like having what animals have been on our property at night. From foxes to sunks to neighbors dogs, it is very handy. Hope all is well. Still very warm in Southern Maine.
I'm a fan of my ReoLink. I got a solar, wifi version. My state (NY) had legislation stating that low income areas needed high speed internet so they put fiber optic on my dirt road!! I have better internet at my cabin than I do at my home. It's nuts. Anyway, the Reolink is a good camera. In winter I sometimes have to bring the camera inside to charge it since the angle of the sun doesn't hit my solar panel. Minor inconvenience. I don't use it for security (don't have any of the motion detector things turned on) as much as I do to check weather conditions.
Definitely something I have been considering for sometime now. Great information and encouragement to go ahead with the project. Love your channel. Merry Christmas! Cheers
I have 5 ReoLink cameras. I have a SD card in each one. You can download the video from the SD card to your computer or phone via wifi. You can also play back videos from the SD card via wifi. I had the cloud storage when it was free on start up but the price really jumped after the trial period at that time. I don't see much use for having the cloud storage.
I run 4 Amcrest 4K POE cameras to a Amcrest NVR that is always recording and holds about 18 days of storage. It also offers the high and low resolution when connecting to it. It was not very expensive either and has been running without issue for 4+ years now. I have been interested in these Reolink cameras as well with a Reolink NVR. Thanks GP for the demo!
Hey Gord, thanks for another informative video, you always go above and beyond to get the information out there for your audience, the right information helps make the right decision. I don't even have any cell service at my cabin without a cell booster so the camera thing wouldn't work for me. Wishing you Carol and the rest of your family all the best the season has to offer.
Good morning Gord, liked the tutorial on the security cameras. Thanks for the information. It is a must when you live away from your cabin or lake property to have a security set up that you can monitor and see who is around your private areas. It's a shame we need them to keep track of thieves like that too. Thanks for sharing with us, enjoy your times over the Holidays with family and friends and catch your breath and get the New Year started for another season. Stay safe, Fred.
Good morning GP, sure is a big difference between high and low resolution. Internet speed is an issue where I am. I have a bunch of hardwired cameras but I need to add a few wireless ones. Thanks for sharing!
Howdy Gord, I've also had great success using Reolink cameras. Unfortunately, my cameras needed to be further from wifi than that allowed, so I chose the cellular option. Prepaid data only card run about 10 dollars a month per camera, but that's a small price to pay for the peace of mind they bring. Have a great weekend!
Hello there GP. The security cameras are working great eh and I bet they give you a good sense of security knowing you can observe the cottage at any time. Take care!!
Good Morning GP, this is very interesting and informative video mon ami 😇👍I might have to get one of these in a near futur 🤔🤔👍Yes GP your shed is not ready for An Inspection 👍👍🤣 OUTSTANDING night vision and day too 🧐👍👍Nice Toyota Truck 👍😎Be well GP Cheers 🍻🍻
Good morning GP They seem to work very well for you.. We have 6 up at our home but they all run of Wi-Fi. I have been looking at some for cell service. But the extra cost per month for us is expensive.. The one thing I don’t like about the ones we do have is they don’t trigger fast enough.. oh well.. Hope you’re enjoying retirement.. 😉 We are… Cheers my friend..
Hey good day Gus. These are all wifi too - and I agree - too much for the cell based ones here too. Mine take several seconds to trigger but I find it is ok cause if someone is around I still get them - I think I miss some wildlife though. LOL ( they run past too fast).:)) Have a nice weekend and say hi to Sally!
Hi Chris. Yes, the one I have in the cabin does - and it does! LOL! On the last video you will find about 1 1/2 months ago I released you will see it follow me. It is model E1 Pro.
I have 8 ring cameras on my property now and they are only 1080P which is not high enough resolution to see things well when you are watching larger spaces like our properties (while perfect for the suburbs). I wish I had not dumped all the money into them and gone 4K.
Morning Gord. I just switched from a Rogers cell based internet system to Starlink at the shop. So far very pleased with it. Might be a good option for better internet at the cabin..?
Hi GP. Thank you for another great video. I have lights that run on similar solar panels and I have trouble getting them to charge up enough or stay powered in New Hampshire, USA - especially in the dead of winter. It seems like you're not having issues (yet?) but you did mention that one camera has a low battery. Would you mind maybe following up on this in one of your future videos? I'd love to know if there was a problem with the panel, if it got bumped, or if maybe you just didn't position it to get enough light in the first place.
I appreciate the video! I’m considering getting a camera or two and am uneducated on the subject! Are these cameras required to be in WiFi range of your cabin’s router, or are they using cell service?
Hi JP. These are wifi only so have to be in range of the router. The cell based cameras require their own SIM cards and service. Some providers will allow you to add another SIM card to your existing account for an additional fee instead of opening another new account. Good luck!
My sister has 6 cameras set up on her place that do daytime nighttime and with sounds and voice as well. She felt the need for protection because of an ex BF. She also has 2 boys and she likes to make sure they are also doing what they are told. Cammers don't lie lol.
Good morning - yes - click on the Gear wheel ( Settings) in the top right corner of the specific camera you want to change, scroll down to "Advanced" and you will see the "Date and Time" option there. Good luck!
GP, I bought a reolink cell camera, but have been unable to find a cell plan for less than $20 US per month. Whicn one dp you have and how much data did you buy?? David H
Gord if you go back a couple of years in your videos I had recommended to you to try the Wyze Cam products. We certainly do not have to climb up and remove the SD Card to review videos. The Wyze brand is far superior and costs much less money. There is no comparison with your cameras to the Wyze Cam products. Darn I tried to save you Money 2 years ago. Thank you GP. I have a REOLINK poe nvr with 8 cameras just love it, no monthly charges.

Hey Gord we just put on Starlink before having terrible internet great video
Cheers Andrew🇦🇺
I have been thinking of setting up cameras here at home. Thank you for the information. Very helpful.
Slick setup.
That is awesome GP. You explained it well too. Good job ol friend.
Thanks Dean! Have a great weekend!
Great video for someone looking for a remote camera setup. It seams to work very well for you. $ 48 /year is a very good price. Have a good weekend, Cheers, Mike
Thanks GP. I also enjoy my Reolink cameras. Great security for the price.
I bought two Rio link cameras after your last video you did on them. I've been very happy with the product!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Gord. Thanks for the info.
Thank you 😊
I like them all, the work ones and the strictly information one. Always nice to get the notice when you put a new one out
Thanks Mike - Cheers!
Great Video Gord. I love all my ReoLink cameras. Been running them at both my cottage and home for the last 5 years
Thank you for the recap

Thanks Mr. P. Those cameras have come a long way in the past few years! Cheers! ✌

And to you George - Merry Christmas!
Out here where we live in the boonies, we are getting fiber optic! Currently we have DSL. Can’t wait for the higher bandwidth!
Nice! Fibre. That's great! All the best!
That’s a great video GP thanks.

I know you said you have “pay as you go” internet. Not sure if you can get it up there, but been pretty happy with Starlink.

HI Kevin . Yes I checked into it - my neighbour has it. Good fast service but more than twice the price here. Cheers and thanks!
@@GPOutdoors the hardware kit is on sale right now for $500 and then $140/month for the unlimited service I believe it is. Have a good weekend!
I had a camera that wouldn’t charge and found by power cycling the unit it started to take a charge again.
GP is indoors today.
LOL! Good morning JB. :)

I would suggest moving that camera in your equipment shed. The nigh vision is flashing off the ladder and that beam to much.

LOL. Just tried - They are sold out of all their outdoor cameras. Will try again in the future. Thanks Claude!
