Legitimately captivating. Your travis picking is damned near spot on, voice is like honey and the arrangement is top notch, your vocal inflections adding note variances are perfect. I fucking love this.
Thank you! It's such a tune hey? Yeah I've played it a lot. I often start my sets with it to warm up my fingers. I think this time I waited till I was warm so it was a goody. Cheers 🍻
much more true to original Dylan studio version on Freewheelin album, few people i've found in You tube searches even try to go near what Dylan lays out in that version of his song, guitar, the way he does it, something a lot of people consider an example of "great lyrics but he can't play guitar." (or sing). i think of it as a style of expression Dylan uses in different works that they can't identify with, many think it's to messy, not clean enough, it is for him but not for many others, there are musicians and people in general who identify with a more clean or more neatly organized self expression. So imitation is not really possible, a lot of Dylan's influences aren't clean at all. i often think of Blind Willie johnson, keep your lamp trimmed and burnin, but there are so many more. Zane can do clean with natural feeling ease, while his ears are wide open and not blinded to what else Dylan is saying and how he's seeing the limits of style with lot of freedom of movement, turning style into its opposite. Sometimes if something is too hard for someone to do clean, that doesn't have to be a fault but on the contrary, it's an opportunity, it's just a different instrument with a different personality doing a different way to express how it is, the self expression. Thank you Zane for sharing your Don't Think twice, the picking is very hard, righty because so much is going on at the same time, the underlying feelings,, but it gets easier as he owns it, and as you or anyone does. I liked what you said about warming up your fingers with that song. It's almost always the first one i play every day, if i only play one thing, that will be it, and it has that irresistible taste to make me happy to do it over and over and over, and never stop working on fleshing it out, fleshing myself out. That's just me, but i just woke up and i got you tube cuz i wanted to hear Mother from the Wall which i have't heard in a long time, something put me on it last night, wanting to hear it, but i ran out of time so i put it on this morning and then before breakfast, i decided "i'm going to take a look at you tube people's ways of playing don't think twice, to see if there are in the sort of genre (dylan on Freewheeling guitar picking 'uncleanliness') that i'm living in, and finding yours , very uplifting, including your comments about playing it to warm up and such. Thank you for sharing 🙂 bookmarked happily. oh, and your vocal, i enjoy so much

Thanks mate. I've only just started posting with any consistency. It's always terrified me to be honest. Putting myself out there. I think becoming a parent has levelled me up and I'm not as insecure haha. I Don't have the time to fuck around anymore 😉
Thanks! A lot of people say that. I do love Jeff Buckley. I'm working on his version of 'Mama you've been on my mind'. One of my subscribers requested it. Stay tuned 😉
3 years ago I posted a vid of myself covering this song, complete with mouth organ like Bob. I have been performing this since 1964. I posted it 3 years ago and have 133 views whereas Zane has 30 thousand in 5 months. Whether or not his version is better or not is not really relevant as I would have thought that curiosity alone would have garnered more 'clicks' for me. Jack and Daisy have had 50,000 views in 2 years, etc etc. Hmmmm.
@@zanethompsonmusic7461 aye . It looked like their Jasmine logo ... but blurry..lol Not a bad action for a cheap plyboard top .. I have one for a creek banker ... keeps me Martin from the weather. And I can leave it in a vehicle on a sunny day with no worries. Lol I used to own a Good Taki dreadnaught years ago .. Good guitar.. should have kept it . But then again I have a trove of too many guitars now .. Of there's such a thing.
Outstanding cover. Dylan is a poet and your arrangement did it justice. Thank you 🫡
