Ain’t never heard of a chopped cheese but it looks really good and maybe somethin I can try makin…good job buddy looks like a good day and dang good food…keep it up man
Thank you! Yeah, so many people in NYC don't even know what a chopped cheese is. But I bet it wouldn't be too hard to make and it's definitely satisfying!
I just came back from New York 4 days ago and I went there, the sandwich is DELICIOUS! My wife and I ordered one to split and it was so good that we ordered 2 more so we can have our own 😂
Nice video James. I like your delivery style and your earnest appreciation of the entire food spectrum. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your future episodes. BTW, you might want to try a bacon cheeseburger burger at Donovan's in Woodside (58th and Roosevelt Ave I think) given that you live somehwat nearby. They used to be great, and hope they still are.
James, many of your reviews are of places I've been to, or are at least aware of. Once in a while, as here, you reveal something that's totally new to me, for which you get a "bravo". Now, I don't think chopped cheese is for me; I pick and choose my exposure to cheese, but that's just me. And if this is a commonly available "thing" at bodegas, that makes it a legitimate New York item. So I may check it out at some time.
Man this camera quality is so sharp it's burning my eyes. Chopped Cheese looks a little skimpier than it used to. Just look at JL Jupiter's vid and it was bigger.
Bruh, i been chopoing up burgers and putting them on long rolls my entire life. Then i wake up one day and NYs calling it chopped cheese and acting like its something great
I’m a fan, as you know, but I have to admit, this one left me scratching my head. While there were some positives to the sandwich, namely its’ size, price and admirable “lineage” to a neighborhood Mom & Pop shop, you said that the quality and taste of the meat was lacking (!) , alarm bells went off in my head. Why not scrap the video in search of a chopped cheese sandwich worthy of your endorsement? I don’t want a mediocre chopped cheese sandwich. no one does. I’m in NYC. Everything’s here. I want the best of what’s available. That’s the New York way! It’s part of our culture. 🗽 🚖 🥨
When I said it wasn't the best meat, I meant it wasn't like something special, like dry-aged beef. It wasn't bad, but even if a chopped cheese had the best beef, you wouldn't really know it since the cheese plays a dominant role in the sandwich. The thing is that most chopped cheeses from other delis are very similar to the one I had in this video, but I featured it because it was supposedly where the sandwich was invented and I love a taste of culinary history.
Where did you get the idea for this video? Did you ever live in East Harlem? The host of UA Eats did, which is why he did the video on Hajji's. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I guess.
One can still get a good chopped cheese in locations throughout NYC. The real appeal of going to Hajji's was the fact that they hold the claim of having invented the sandwich.
Chopped cheese is only native to Uptown Manhattan....no native from Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten Island orders a chopped cheese. It's not an NYC thing, and has only been made/deemed as such since transplants that saw it online ask for it in other areas now.
A NYC gem! I lived on E83rd & Second, so I was close and often enjoyed. So good!
Nice! It's definitely an iconic NYC spot!
Love the video!!! I always look forward to your uploads ❤️
Thank you! That really makes me happy to hear!
I'm going to watch this at 5pm when I finish work. But that meal looks delish to the max.
Thank you! It was definitely a satisfying sandwich!
Love your reviews you are the best

Love the videos buddy! Please keep it up!
Thank you! I appreciate it!

Nice!
I grew up across the street and used to eat those all the time! I had to check out ya review. They used to be $3.. the good ole days. Nice review.
Thank you! Yeah, the price has jumped a bit, but it's still a solid deal these days.
GREAT SANDWICH, i had one last week when i visited nyc.
Nice! Indeed! It's a great sandwich!
I appreciate the quality uploads my friend.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I always try to make the best video possible.
Love your videos bro! big fan!
Thank you! I appreciate it!

Thank you! Donovan's is definitely a place I've been meaning to check out, and when I do, I'll probably make a video about it.
@@Jamesnuyes please make a Donovan's in woodside video! It's a great place!
@@nyrmetros I'll definitely get there!
Did they renovate the place recently? I went back in 2018 and boy it sure as hell didn't look like that when I was there. It looks wayyyyy nicer now
I think they have.
So glad you liked it. Made me hungry :)
Thank you! Yeah, it was a solid sandwich!
One chopped cheese is never enough! Keep up the good work.
Exactly! Thank you!

Thank you! Yeah, the sandwich may not be for everybody, but it's worth trying if you get the chance because it's at least pretty cheap.
Great sandwich, but you forgot the coffee and dessert! Next time, you have to check out dell'Aria (E 111th St) for a coffee and gelato.
I know I was still hungry! I'll look that place up the next time I'm in the area.
Great review 👌
Thank you so much!
Used to live down the block from there. Choped cheese hero was $3 8 yrs ago.
Wow! Well, at least the sandwich is still pretty affordable.
If you ever find yourself going again, ask them to put "everything on it". Trust me, you won't be disappointed
Thanks for the tip!
Great presentation sir
Thank you so much!
Well I’m drooling
Haha! Yeah, it was an awesome sandwich!
Awesome!
The chopped cheese is indeed an awesome sandwich!
Man this camera quality is so sharp it's burning my eyes. Chopped Cheese looks a little skimpier than it used to. Just look at JL Jupiter's vid and it was bigger.
Yeah, I love my Canon cameras! Yep, I've seen other photos of the sandwich, and a number of them looked a bit bigger than mine.
They've switched to Boar's Head, it better be good. And I'm sure the price has gone up.
Yeah, but it's still a good deal for NYC.
I tried one and it tasted like a Philly Cheesesteak but with ground beef.
Yeah, the two sandwiches do share some commonalities.
I get mine here in Trenton nj at Krause and it's better then any
Nice! I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever in Trenton.
Good food

A lot of people enjoy it here.
I’m a fan, as you know, but I have to admit, this one left me scratching my head.

Aok! You had me at “it's where it was invented.” That Midwestern charm helps too. Carry on! 🗽
What a great deal! Next time, you can afford to live large and treat yourself with a 50-cent hot sauce addition.
Oh yeah! I can make it rain with hot sauce!
Best fucking chopped cheese ever and I’m on my way back there this weekend
It's a great sandwich for sure!
50 cents for hot sauce? Where's your bottle of hot sauce! But the price for the hero is very cheap!
Haha! Yeah, I should've come better prepared, but it was still a deal nevertheless!
Chopped cheese is for real New Yorkers
Absolutely!
Where did you get the idea for this video? Did you ever live in East Harlem? The host of UA Eats did, which is why he did the video on Hajji's. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I guess.
The chopped cheese is famous. I don't have to live in a neighborhood to get an idea for a video.
It's just a mashed up cheeseburger on a hoagie roll. I never saw the big deal personally
Fair enough.
Pass. Not worth an hour trip for cheap meats.
One can still get a good chopped cheese in locations throughout NYC. The real appeal of going to Hajji's was the fact that they hold the claim of having invented the sandwich.
You're supposed to be drunk.
Haha! It tasted good sober too.
This is the ONLY way.. Real NY knows
The chopped cheese is a true NYC sandwich!

Sad to see the chump cheese claim another victim
I think it's a solid sandwich.
