This feels like a more "old school Shaun or Chris" video and I love it; you guys don't need to try to be cool, you're cool by default - more like this please!
I don't know if they're cool by default but they're woodworkers, not comedians. Since they teamed up i've enjoyed their videos less and less and although i like the work that they make i find myself skipping though the videos or not even watching them at all these days, unless they are videos like these, which is the type of video and the reason why i started watching "old school Shaun and Chris" in the first place.
100% agree with you. Love their video format. And they are just down to earth nice guys to boot👍👍 Did you see Chris's most recent video where he builds a table for his parents ? One word...... Absolutely-gorgeous. Haha, That's one word right ? Take care, ~Jonny5🥁
I like this format. I think the voice-over “watch as we watch” is a good format, and this is exactly the kind of project that works for that format. Thanks for sharing your work, and your process. The finished project looks really good!!
I've watched you guys for a long time and part of that reason is because what you do is amazing It's just as good to watch you do much more attainable work for us normal woodworkers
When trimming edge banding flush, I always put a piece or 2 of blue tape where the bearing spins, this helps so you don't get any weird bearing marks and also gives you a TINY bit of banding to sand back so you're not messing with your veneer. It seems to help for me :)
I honestly prefer their more normal and polished style videos myself. It's what drew me to be a fan of their work, and set them apart from other wood working channels for me.
Love this format of video! The best parts are when you are dropping a little side note/quip - the whole "it's going in my house and I just have to look at it and be annoyed, every day" type comments make the video so good
Regardless of whatever content I'm watching (woodworking, furniture builds, mowing, tiling etc.) I enjoy voiceovers the most. They relax me & capture my attention. With that said, I enjoy every type of video you guys make!! Just keep making videos is all I need!! Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
I liked the format of walking us through. I also liked the project and seeing you build things that I might do in my house is nice even though its not exactly as cool as the awesome looking furniture you normally do. Thanks! And well done
Literally any format to these videos you use works for me. It always comes out clean and what I’m most interested in is your personalities, humor, and knowledge. I did enjoy this “director’s commentary” format a lot
As someone that has followed both of you from pretty early days and follows both channels (when I’ve unsubscribed from almost every other woodworking channel) I like both formats. These are good, the other candid stuff is good, you guys are good. Keep making the stuff you enjoy making and people will keep watching. Much love.
It's nice to see some real world problem solving for normal size spaces, I liked the format used it was kind of between your 2 channels and I think it worked well with the project if that makes sense.
I agree with CCooperDev about the level of polish being better in your normal format. But, I think you could become more polished as you do more of these types of videos. If this is a way that you can produce more content, then great. If this is an alternative to your normal video format - then I don't think its so great. It is great to try something new, even if it doesn't work.
Wow! Looks great. You really maximized that closet area. I think its cleaner without adding the shelves, but you know your space needs best. Well done!
This was a fun little build to watch, Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I absolutely love your guys channel, you and Chris make such beautiful projects, I really appreciate the walkthroughs you guys do with your videos. The production, the editing and the camera work is awesome, nice job. Take care, hopefully see you soon. ~Jonny5🥁
Ok guys, have to say it : it takes no more than 3 clicks to get to the customization page on which you can change the channel's name into Foureyes. DO IT ALREADY !! On a less pressing note, i liked that format, and the build as well. Smart move thinking ahead of the final assembly to use the second box as potential adjustment. It's a little thing but I'm fairly sure most amateur builders wouldn't plan that far ahead were they to start such a project on their own.
I always injoy the video's that y'all come out with. This one was one as well. Looks great. You should turn that door into a pocket door. Just an idea.
I like the format…especially if it’s easier for you guys to make content. The older vids from Chris seemed like a lot of production time, they are beautiful, but content is more important to me than super fancy post production. Just my 2 cents.
As usual, you guys knock it out of the park, and a lot of comments are gonna be on the woodworking/design (which is great) but you have been using fantastic music in your videos and I want to make sure it's getting recognised.
Why did you add the 4 verticals stretchers between the base and middle shelves? Was it for the drawer brackets or just for strength ? Just wondering I’m building something similar now. Awesome videos as always
Good build, good format. Well done. I WAS going to ask why you didn't reconfigure the door to open outward, but I see where someone else asked that question five months ago, and it remains unanswered, so I won't bother.
Would've been nice to see the right side notched out to reveal the window better. I feel like pieces in tight spaces like this have much less need for symmetry, since you can't stand back and observe it really well. It's a nice piece that could move to any future space though.
Love the cabinets. Very tight space to work with. Just a shame you weren’t able to find enough room to put a little bench under that window. Would have made a nice little retreat for a cup of coffee or even just an extra place to sit and put your shoes on. Also the new format reminds me of DVD extras with directors commentary tracks
Cool project! Turned out great. I think I prefer the more scripted and polished voiceover like in the previous videos. They're very smooth while still feeling natural. This one was good, but didn't have the same flow
Finally a build that makes me think Hey, i could build that too! Nice one, Shaun, this type of video is nice to watch, but your other type(s) of videos are cool as well.
You know what would look really nice, is if you would have kept those ends on the dowels you made. I've never seen someone make their own hanging rods before, but that's a great, quick way of doing it. You know, like if you would have measured your length then cut the stock, then routered it into a dowel with the square ends left. Then made some type of bracket for the square ends to hang in. That would essentially give you the opportunity to hide those screws as well. This was an amazing project. We're actually getting ready to remodel our basement into the master bedroom and we talked about building something like this in the closet for my wife. Except ours will have a section for a mirror and all her makeup
I was thinking the same thing, except I was thinking of making a square recess in the sides to fit the square ends, and just gluing it in place. No screws to hide.
Anyone else wondering why there is a window in the small closet? Cuts down on light bulbs, for sure. Still curious as why the builder installed such a large window in such a small space. Product of Remodeling perhapa?
Ugh, the direction of the door feels wrong for such a small room. A bifold would work better there I think? I did french doors for my smol bathroom and managed to save a a precious inch for the washing machine to fit. How doors can make me so full of hatred I don't get it.

I've always enjoyed Shaun. Rewatch his own videos all the time.
Agreed. These are the best kind of videos
100% agree with you.
Love their video format.

That is a killer tip... thanks!
I honestly prefer their more normal and polished style videos myself. It's what drew me to be a fan of their work, and set them apart from other wood working channels for me.
I love the way you comment through the video. It changed from the way Chris does his videos. Love it.
Love this format of video! The best parts are when you are dropping a little side note/quip - the whole "it's going in my house and I just have to look at it and be annoyed, every day" type comments make the video so good
That was great Shaun. I enjoy voice over videos and being walked through the steps.
Great design for a tight space.

Great build and nice VO format. I just wish you had cut the baseboards so it could sit flush against the wall.
I love this format. More of this please, it goes well with your regular more "produced" videos.
It's nice to see some real world problem solving for normal size spaces, I liked the format used it was kind of between your 2 channels and I think it worked well with the project if that makes sense.

I agree, I had suggested maybe offer this as a bonus in addition to the standard cut.
Nice build, did you give any consideration to having the door swing out so you wouldn’t have any dead space in the room?
Or use a pocket door?
Wow! Looks great. You really maximized that closet area. I think its cleaner without adding the shelves, but you know your space needs best. Well done!
The lighter edge band detail on the drawer front is actually a nice design feature in my opinion.
This was a fun little build to watch, Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Excellent narrative and work, I enjoyed this format very much. Kudos to both, I love the channel.

I like this format for this kind of build Shawn, well done!
And... another great project finished!!!
I don't know what it is about them, but I love these Starrett rules so much. Delightfully simple.
Loved the style of this. It may be nice to switch it up every couple uploads!
Very nice, Shaun! I have a small closet, and now you have inspired me.
Thanks for sharing. Felix
Love this format!!👍👍👍
Excellent work.
Great video guys. Keep up the amazing work!
As usual, you guys knock it out of the park, and a lot of comments are gonna be on the woodworking/design (which is great) but you have been using fantastic music in your videos and I want to make sure it's getting recognised.
Nice closet upgrade~! Yeah, this format works fine for me too.
Why did you add the 4 verticals stretchers between the base and middle shelves? Was it for the drawer brackets or just for strength ? Just wondering I’m building something similar now. Awesome videos as always
Amazing job sir.. Great video. We also have an odd shaped space in our bedroom to make into a closet. This was great inspiration.
Good build, good format. Well done. I WAS going to ask why you didn't reconfigure the door to open outward, but I see where someone else asked that question five months ago, and it remains unanswered, so I won't bother.
Nice work. I enjoyed this format.
Where did those angled shelves end up? I thought those were a cool use of that space in front of the door.
Would've been nice to see the right side notched out to reveal the window better. I feel like pieces in tight spaces like this have much less need for symmetry, since you can't stand back and observe it really well. It's a nice piece that could move to any future space though.

I love getting baked and watching these videos haha
Really cool. I dig the format.
I liked the new format
Excellent workmanship.Cheers from India 🇮🇳.
Cool project! Turned out great. I think I prefer the more scripted and polished voiceover like in the previous videos. They're very smooth while still feeling natural. This one was good, but didn't have the same flow
Could you please make a closet with sliding doors that would be nice. Anyway this is lovely gave much idea to build it.
Beautiful work!
The concept of “fudging room” is very useful. :)
Finally a build that makes me think Hey, i could build that too! Nice one, Shaun, this type of video is nice to watch, but your other type(s) of videos are cool as well.

Interesting idea for the dowels.
I was thinking the same thing, except I was thinking of making a square recess in the sides to fit the square ends, and just gluing it in place. No screws to hide.
Love this format
I like the drawer pulls.
Maybe you should think about Rastex connections for these odd situations like towards the end. But nice build for this small room.
Yup. Voiceover is best. Thanks.
Looks great - it works.
Might want to consider making the base sleepers shy of the floor. They then avoid humps in the floor. Just a thought.
How do you finish or protect the inside of the drawers?
Great video! Thank you.
Beautiful guys!
hey! i used my sony m4s and notice u used your sonys for ear protection... is there any diference from a conventional protection?
I really like this style of video :) reminds me of old four eyes feels
Really cool! Thanks for the video. How long did it take to make everything?
I like the video format and design. Is that white or red oak?
Great! Just a thought; this would have great even without the top panel.
What program are you doing these 3-d renderings?
Love this! How did you secure the cabinets to the wall?
Hi can you tell me what glue you are using please
Great use of the space, Shaun. I do miss some of the banter between you and Chris, though. I'll watch either way.
Bill
Can I ask how much you pay for plywood? and how many layers it has?
The honey badger uses screws to build. Then removes them and drills the hole out and replaces them with dowels. Boom. Better ‘view’.
shaun its a super good vid. thanks for it allot
I have one of these too. Thanks for the ideas
Good format
Nice result for a weird space.
Hi ! love you videos and this one is good too but i think i prefer the usual format :)
Nice job Man. 👍
Man.....you are the best
Neden kontraplak kullanıyorsun sunta ve ya mdf kullansan daha ucuz olmazmı sanırım orada ahşap daha ucuz
I like how you are bored out of your mind when all the angles are 90 degrees. :)
What kept your contractor/"designer" from incorporating this space in the new bathroom?
I'm still one of the odd guys that prefers Shaun's old channel.
Anyone else wondering why there is a window in the small closet?
Cuts down on light bulbs, for sure.
Still curious as why the builder installed such a large window in such a small space.
Product of Remodeling perhapa?
the one thing this channel is missing is more corgy action
Well I actually don't hate this format, but I like the "normal" one way better but I won't bother if you make every now and then such videos :)
I am OK with this format
Nice job, more closest should have windows
I like your older videos better. They were super chill and relaxing to watch. The vlog style is still fun to watch. Just not as much.
Ugh, the direction of the door feels wrong for such a small room. A bifold would work better there I think? I did french doors for my smol bathroom and managed to save a a precious inch for the washing machine to fit. How doors can make me so full of hatred I don't get it.
Nice project, the use of space and design and learned something again so thanks. Not a fan of the unscripted voice over though.
did anyone notice that 44.9 degree on the table saw 6:11
why not flip the door around so it opens out
I have watched this video in the past and still enjoy watching your process! Turned out very nice! I like it a lot!
Looks good. Sometimes the best design is in fact the most obvious. I like the format as well.
Coba bikin lemari joran pancing dan kelengkapanya...
No puns, zero stars.
sorry, blocking half the window looks weird. I'd have integrated the whole window into the design somehow.
